  1. Without going back to look at results from the conference tournament and a list of proposed starters for Baylor this year, I am guessing that Baylor has no more than 1-2 kids if any that wrestled at their middle school that will be in their starting lineup this year and I coach against their middle school team every year. All of their former middle school kids may still be in the program but they're not starters.
  2. I don't know what the exact rules are but I am pretty sure there is a loop hole where if you board at the private school then transfer to public and move back home you're eligibile

  4. I thought Lipsey deserved OW. He legitimately might have been the best wrestler in AA all year.
  5. I hear there may be another HS head coach in the Cleveland area hanging up his hat after the year is over.
  6. There are two people I would reach out to. 1. Chris Brown- DC at Baylor. Doubt he leaves Baylor but he was at Cleveland before and kids loved him. Seems like a great guy. 2. Maybe a stretch right now but Matt Moody. Local guy, young, energetic, would think this would be a job he would want to stay at for a long time. Has had some decent success at McMinn Central. I am sure there are others I am missing as I am not a football guy but those are the two outside of the program I would give a look at.
  7. So you're only considered really good if you can beat teams that don't contain the best kids in the state?
  8. Scott they won 2 matches out of 7 at WNO. Yes in private school they have been very dominant but recently that hasn't been very hard to do in tennessee private school and the team they have this year can't be compared much to the teams they've had the past couple years.
  9. Cleveland Middle School is looking for a MS tournament November 5th, 2022. If you know of anything please let me know. Evan Vermillion evermillion@clevelandschools.org
  10. Absolutely. I teach at Cleveland and when he was here everyone loved him.
  11. He made the NHSCA Senior National Finals. Kids pretty good
  12. Kids want to be in a program that's successful and wins state titles and gives them the best shot to win an individual title. Cleveland put 4 freshman in the boys lineup this year and one girl in the girls line up and all but one went to cleveland middle school and all placed top 5. Traveling across the US to find good competition and practicing 5 days a week pretty much year round because our kids have a desire to be the best because that's the expectation, if you consider that recruiting because kids want to be a part of that then so be it but because its not happening 3 miles down the road isn't a very good reason to be calling people out. I don't deserve much credit for the success that Cleveland has had because I'm not around as much as I could be, but the people that do, work tirelessly year round to make sure these kids have the best chance for success that they can possibly have. I just don't think it's right to say that people are cheating or recruiting because they work harder than most other coaches in the state.
  13. Where is Liberty Creek?
  14. Why should we rank kids in the P4P rankings for the state of Tennessee that don't compete in Tennessee? No offense to Cooper who was in the boys P4P or Avery who are both very very accomplished but they made the decision to move to Sem and Blair which are out of state schools obviously but neither of these two kids compete in Tennessee so I think we should focus on the ones that do when compiling rankings. But that's just my opinion.
  15. How are we talking about Cleveland as a whole but not WC as a whole? You literally just said in an earlier post that we don't know what Hicks has done to prepare for this tournament but when we tell you what Chase has done, that's irrelevant because Clevelands whole team didn't go?
  16. Chase Walker went to Beast of the East...
  17. So I could be wrong, but I think HS coaches can host strength training and things like that, no sport specific practices, but you can not say it's only for 8th grade football players, you have to open it to any middle school students that want to come, and no high school students can be present at all. Please don't quote me but I think that is the rule.
  18. 4 of the 7 trained at HCWC for a significant amount of time.
  19. Has anyone heard anything Bradley Central job?
  20. The plan is to have a full girls roster. Piper is a stud and will definitely do big things in the very near future but the overall goal is to create a girls dynasty like the boys team has.
  21. Starting next year there will only be D2, A, AA. https://portal.tssaa.org/common/classification/?schoolYear=2021&sportid=7&type=high
  22. Cleveland will officially have a girls team next year. What region will they be in?
  23. Looked very very gassed in there at the end.
