You are almost as big a slappy as that ridiculously bad radio broadcast team that they have. Two years ago Their fans screamed obscenities and called an injured player a p—y. Last year, an armed sherriff’s deputy patrolling our sidelines? Whining about spots, whining about penalties. MC plays like trash. Cheap shots, late hits and for what? A trip deep (but not quite deep enough) into the playoffs? Lady (and I use the term loosely) get some semblance of a life. I support my team, but there is a whole lot more than high school football.

He came home to play because SHHS finally got wrestling, his true calling. I don’t think ANY players should be allowed to “move” a few miles up the road to play HIGH SCHOOL football, and if the TSSAA had a single hair on their ####, they would start punishing programs that do it. I am glad you support your high school (Maury County could certainly support their teams a little bit more), but at the end of the day, you are getting fired up and calling names about 15-18 year olds playing football. How bad must it suck in MC that that’s all you have to be proud of? you have 32,000 people living in your whole county (most of whom I’m sure are related). Please, blather on about your beloved Tigers...I wouldn’t want to take the one positive thing about Marshall County away from you.

How close are you to this program, Lion? It’s easy to criticize from the outside. The Raiders do not enjoy the community support most other teams enjoy. Spring Hill is divided between two counties, Spring Hill high school is in Columbia...Columbia doesn’t support them, Spring Hill supports Summit. The alumni of SHHS don’t support the school, the administration don’t support any of them. The problem with the Raiders is a lack of identity, a link to their past. Will Martin bring that? Too early to say, but he still has his state champion ring, he LOVES this school and Team. Will he make some staff changes? Perhaps. Some ARE needed, but what is needed even more is to get everyone pulling in the same direction. Emmons wasn’t that guy...Turchetta wasn’t that guy.

Record...playoff appearances...players that went to play at the next level...

I’ll tell you what the biggest problem is in the TSSAA. Players that shop for programs/coaches they like <ahem...MC...ahem> You live in a district, you go to that school, period, but that is another topic for another day.

Absolutely correct. Not a lot to celebrate on the Hill...but watching you struggle and karma bite you makes us smile just a little bit way down deep inside.

When you are in a district that gives all the budget to one school, the QB club keeps the program running. If the QB club had any pull, Emmons would have never left Centennial.

A disciplined team doesn’t vandalize another team’s gymnasium. E didn’t bring stability, he was only there 2 years. He made the game about him. He made these boys promises and broke them. And apart from Dontae Smith signing with Georgia Tech (which he had nothing to do with) where have his players gone? Emmons is all about Emmons and would have left the Hill in a heartbeat for anywhere else. Martin is a Raider and isn’t, like Emmons and T before him, looking past the Spring Hill job. THAT is how you build a stable program. Coaches didnt stab E in the back, E was a micromanaging prick. Coaches didn’t like him, Parents didn’t like him, Raiderbackers didn’t like him, players REALLY didn’t like (or respect) him Martin brings the experience of being AD and Head Coach at Nashville Christian. He has BUILT a program (literally), so to claim otherwise is speaking from a place of ignorance. Martin also has a deep love for the school, he and all of his kids graduated as Raiders. Emmons loved Emmons
