Thought this kid was a QB?

With the recent season ending knee injurie to Perkins from Smyrna(my thoughts and prayers go out to him and his family and hope for a full recovery and hope to see Kid on Saturdays),and Teague from Blackmon struggling to stay on the field with concussion issues. It had me thinking. At the beginning of the Season both of these running backs arguably were the top two in 6A football now both their injuries, which will affect them statistically. Who NOW will be the best running back in 6A football. Shoot me out some names of kids and stats and why that kid, very curious to know some of the guys under the radar.

Don't see this being a 5 point game. I see it being close for a 1/2 or maybe even 3 quarters, but cookeville pulls away in the end by at least a couple scores. With that being said I do think siegle is a good 0-4 team, and Cookeville is NOT overrated. They come in to this game ranked 8th in 6A poll, which is about were they need to be. If the poll had then top 5 I would say unproven so therefore overrated, but 8th is a good spot for them. Their 4 victories are all over teams that they should have beaten,with that being said they handle each team with ease, which good teams do.Their defense looks to be real good, their offense is very balanced. They have players with div 1 offers, sold qb play, great running game, ok up front on both sides of the ball, great head coach and staff, good team chemistry with senior leaders, and lots of momentum going into the tuffest part of their season. This team is also has fresh legs with the starters only playing 9 quarters in 4 games. I truly belive this team has a chance to make a big run here at the mid way mark of the season. I have my worries which i wrote about in my previous post. I know that a lot of people will beat me up on these coments, but hey I believe. #fearthestash

Well folks this week the Cookeville Cavaliers will start there Tour de Rutherford County.It starts off with Siegel High School coming to town. Last year this was a thumping, the Cavaliers really put it on siegle. This year I hope more of the same, but the big worry for me again this week is the penalties. A lot of folks are saying that this is the best Jimmy Maynard/Cavalier team ever! This team is really good, but I have my worries such as the penalties ,inconsistent up front and at times sloppy on offense. I don't know if the sloppiness or the inconsistency up front is due to fatigue, or trying to get a better understanding of the offense. Either way I still see Cookeville winning in this one 14-28. Whatever few problems they do have, I hope they get them fixed, the next five games will really show what this team is made of region Champs or same old Cavs! #fearthestash

in the latest 6a poll the Cookeville cavs are ranked 10th in the state. Way to go cavs!

Well it is here folks the 111 rivalry this Friday night.The Cookeville Cavaliers hosting the White County Warriors. If you're from either one of these areas you know that this is a big one for both teams! You have WCHS Warriors coming in with a 2-1 record, running the ball very well with their star running back Jake Shockey.On the other side of the county line there is the Cookeville Cavaliers 3-0 whith dominating defense who is gave up only 12 points in three games ,and their star running back Blake Ashburn. This should be one for the ages! The last time that the Warriors won was 3 years ago. This has been a one-sided rivalry with Cookeville dominating the series, but you never know in these sort of games.There's a different type of emotion. A different type of feeling in the air. Any thing could happen! With Cookeville Cavaliers struggling with penalties three weeks in a row, it worries me a little. Despite how fired up Sparta will be this will be a one-sided affair my guess 14-28 Cookeville in a hard-fought game. If you want to come out and see this one you better get your seat early this is always a big one for the ticket booth. #fearthestash

35-12 win for Cookeville, The offensive line really got going, paving the way for Cookeville's Blake Ashburn who had 10 carries for 176 yards and 3 TDs. Cookevilles defense played well for the third week strait causing 3 turnovers; 2 int 1 fumble recovery. Holding WC to just 12 points. The WC team really put up a fight, this team is tuff, they refused to go away. In my opinion this game was closer than score suggest. Some what being the WC tuffness, but mostly the cavs shooting there selfs in the foot. Also for the third week In a role the cavs had so many penalties! THEY MUST CLEAN THIS UP!!! If they are to ever compete with the top of this region. For those out there who thinks WC is a push over for a easy win, think again. WC would not quit, even when the game was well out of hand they still kept fighting. Good luck to WC the rest of there season. #fearthestash
