i know people personally that did think they were best ever and good ole boy CM sure did run his mouth about being best ever. the reason i posted is bc i saw someone quoted something in here and it prompted me to go and read the thread and there was some pretty bogus stuff being said

i really do not have a bias against oakland lol i live in ruth co. oakland is a good team and should be happy they won. but if you are gonna sit here and tell me 6a was strong this yr then you are playing yourself. oakland has had several teams itself recently better than this yrs past team and they did not even win state. the reason you are defending oakland so hard is bc you are probably an oakland dad lol. the reason most people disagree with me is bc many folks do not get out and watch a lot of high level ball. you seem knowledgable but we are gonna have to agree to disagree

Screw the TSSAA. If the fans would stop showing up to games and giving them money then they would have no power. What they did by not giving refunds is absolutely disgraceful to the fans of the schools. Just shows how they are money hungry pieces of s**t that don’t care about others. This defense was no where close to being one of best ever. Their 2016 defense was a lot better and played better teams. I don’t really wanna keep going back on forth on this board bc it’s mainly Oakland fans who have severe biases. I just call it as it is

All I’m saying is compared to say 2011-2016 6A was down a little. I mean during that time there were so many elite level teams in 6A, this yr there was really Just Oakland

But look every time I have seen them they were primarily playing nickel with 1 high In a cover 3 or 1 look. Which is fine bc they have the dbs to get away with press. Lol funny how when BA was loaded with Talent and during the middle of its current championship run KC wouldn’t play them. However in 2017 and 2018 they decided to and the results speak for themselves. Those Kc fans up in Knox chanting overrated were quickly shut up as the 40 piece quickly ensued and the same thing happened this yr but worse. Funny how you can beat up on the little guys for yrs and then when it time to cleat up with big boys you get smoked. The funniest thing was how everyone thought the 2016 KC with Rodgers was “best team in TN ever” then couldn’t even make it past the 2nd round. Also was funny seeing KC getting all hype and stuff after beating beach and acting like they were great and had beat the NE Patriots not even thinking the almost lost to SD and got smoked by BA at home. KC will be in for a rude awakening rather quickly in D2AAA

Blackman doesn’t have the coaching or qb to beat Oakland. Look at the teams who have beat them in past and what they all have in common. Good olines, above average wrs, and a high level qb. The only time this hasn’t been true was in 2016. Whitehaven got a few breaks but Oakland played Terrible after they got up . That team also had more athletes than Oakland.

The last few truly great teams I’d say TN has had would have been 2015 BA, 2012 Ensworth, 2009 MUS(Brunetti senior yr), and possibly the 2014 Maryville team that beat the loaded ravenwood team in OT

Lol man lol. I bet you thought the same against maryville in 2015,2017 and whitehaven in 2016. It doesn’t work except when teams have a lesser dline. Oakland literally plays cover 3 and 1 all game. Try that vs a qb that can throw and a good Oline it’s lights out

What would be nice would be to have 1a,2a,D21A on Thursday 3a,4a,D2AA on Friday 5A,6A,D2AA on Saturday this would be best bc the smaller communities would still be willing to travel for the smaller schools while allowing the middle sized schools to play on Friday and then drawing in the bigger crowds on Friday making it better for everyone over all and keeping gate good.. or just get rid of 9 state championships lol

Why if you had the athletes Oakland has, play in a phone booth? Get them in space and let them go to work. It only works against teams with Dlines that are not as good or sometimes not as discipline as yours. Prime example is maryville beating Oakland over the last few years. I’m not knocking Oakland as a team but they could be even more so better with a different offense

The only reason people are all of a sudden loving the wing t is bc of one win. No one was saying this when Creasy choked in 2015,2016,2017, to teams with less coaching and at times less athletes. All bc he was h*ll bent on running his stupid wing T and has no pass game. What was the offense that they ran on him oh that’s right the spread. There is no “show” to the spread bc it just works plain and simple. If you have no deep understanding of how a team is trying to get matchups, succession play calling, rpos, etc, then yes the spread looks unorganized and a “show” but I’ll take it against that outdated wing T any day. There is a reason it’s not ran by any good teams in college and especially pros LOL

not denying that. oakland is a very good football team with a good coach

not denying the fact the 80s and 90s BA teams were great teams. however the 2 best teams BA has ever had was the 1996 and 2015. this is coming after talking to coaches on their staff who coached and played on the teams listed. BA at the time did not have free reign on talent then bc if anything it is now. before hand it was only a handful of players per team could receive financial aid, but after gary rankin went on his crusade to get the pub-private split after BA spanked his Riverdale team, their is unlimited players that can receive aid. the split has only killed football bc like you said and i agree with a state title back then was really saying something

The spread is the equalizer bc a team is not gonna line up and ground a pound a team like Alcoa and Oakland or maryville. That has been proven over and over to not work
