You guys haven’t played a good D2 school in many years. The last one was when Cobb was there against mccallie and BA was in the 80s so it’s been a while man. CPA doesn’t count bc they were public league then and Would have got smoked by top D2 teams. Also btw maryville has never played anyone in the big boy games and is scared to schedule out of state games. Ensworth handed it to them every single time that they scrimmaged including maryvilles very good 2013 team. Alcoa teams of the past have been better is all I’m trying to say. You guys struggled and got a few lucky calls your way to beat Upperman, Alcoa teams of past that wouldn’t have been a game

i think they would be good games except for alcoa. this yr they are not the same as yrs past in terms of dominance

the spread is the best way to go now in high school football. it allows teams with smaller oline and dominant skill players to really shine. however, when you combine a great oline with good skill players in the spread its unstoppable. the wing t also now does not prepare players for college offenses. i think oakland got away with winning state this yr bc maryville and whitehaven both did not have the talent as yrs past on the dline. problem with the wing t is if you get it down by 14 it is very hard to come back bc the lack of throwing and how it can be negated by a discipline and good dline. the spread however is a whole different story bc you can make it as complicated or as simple as you want to especially going fast tempo on offense. the spread has many different types air raid, spread option, run and shoot, pro style spread, etc. all these allow teams to have much more of a chance to have success and get players out to play. the problem in TN is there have been only a few teams who have ever ran a true spread offense and dominated due to lack of athletes compared to other states

yes i think the winner of the d2aaa game is the best in the state and generally always is. alcoa is very overrated. struggled and got a lucky call against a undersized and generic upperman team. greneville is solid yes but thru their run they have not played any high caliber teams. oakland played and beat ba in a scrimmage this summer, however an inside source who knows creasy very well said come november that the result could be very different. if MUS wins they will be undefeated so then they would definitely be best in state. hopefully all this will be put to rest when BA plays whitehaven next szn

gonna have to agree with this one. TN usually has around 1-2 teams every yr that could compete nationally (Think of corn elder ensworth yrs, BA recently, Barry Brunetti MUS teams, past riverdale teams etc) but this yr it is bad. state game was absolutely pitiful. oakland would probably get smoked out of state. 6a team running a 1a offense

Lmao pretty convenient that KC decides to switch over now that all their star big time players have left. As usual ducking competition like they have for years. D2 would have mopped the floor with any of the KC teams in the last decade. Won the 5a state championship and got mercy ruled at home by BA. Good luck in D2 without any major talent anymore.

Bottom line is D2AA in the past and now D2AAA have owned the state for the last decade in football. The majority public schools fans are so disconnected with reality that they cannot seem to realize this as most simply can't admit it and they don't travel to watch other teams across the state so they have no understanding of D2 ball. It is simply an entire other level of play compared to anything else. I mean BA had Jalen Ramsey and Derek Barnett (along with many other high level college players) on the same team and didn't even win state. That alone should show people that D2 is another level of ball.

1: BA 2: MBA 3: Maryville and CBHS tie 4: Oakland 5: Greenville 6: McCallie 7: KC 8: Lausanne 9: Beech 10: Blackman/ Alcoa/ Brentwood/ Cane Ridge Greebville imo was one of the best public schools I saw this year. I think they would beat KC and McCallie due to the superb QB play and their defenses but would struggle against the teams above them that I listed

I guarantee that any of the past D2 champions in the last 10 yrs would have beat this team handily. Also some of the Maryville teams of the past and even a few whitehaven teams would have beat them. Also, who are they playing in Georgia that's really that great? All this being said they are a very good team but you made them seem like they are the Patriots. BA, Ensworth, Maryville, Whitehaven, Oakland all have had teams with this amount of talent if not double that amount. All this being said EL has a very solid team and it shows by beating KC as bad as they did. Finally got a taste of big boy football this year after years of ducking better competition and beating up on little guys.

hard to with a dynamic that private schools have bc all the players on the teams always are not from the same areas or cities growing up like the majority of public schools are. Also, back when the title games were at vandy and even mtsu, BA or MBA would pack the house bc of how close it is to them. Hard to get a huge crowd to drive 60 miles to Cookeville from Nashville area on a given day let alone a Thursday night.

Well its time for two of TN's best teams to strap up and play again for the 3rd year in a row in Cookeville. MBA and BA both have very good coaching staff's and players on their respective teams. Euverard and White have both been highly successful in recent years and its always good to watch these teams play. This year however I think wont be as close as the past few years in this game. BA just has too much firepower on offense and very good defense as well. I think BA will win this game by at least three scores. The game being on saturday is nice as well and hopefully it brings a bigger crowd than the thursday games brought. BA- 31 MBA- 7

I think that KC will take this one by at least 2 td's. beech is a solid team but KC is just so much bigger and more athletic. I think Beech will have issues on jet sweeps and long passes when KC is on offense. With that being said Beech wont roll over in this one. KC- 38 Beech- 21
