I shouldn't but come on man ! Alcoa would go through 4a just the same. You're correct, their enrollment is not the schools fault. Somebody has got to be the G.O.A.T and it's the other schools responsibility to up their game,not Alcoa's to join the NFL or what ever class can beat them. The goal is to be the best you can be and win championships, not find a way to lose.My two cents as well

I remember that first time BVD and myself came to Alcoa and talked to all you guys . I knew two things when I left. The Alcoa fanbase knows the game better then many coaches in NET and the Devils were lucky to catch Alcoa that one year before.

, You're getting about as good as BC with these post. As always,I'll be pulling for your team to win it all again.I think you guys will win by whatever the staff wants the score to be.Never gets old watching Alcoa bring back the gold.

Huge win tonight for the Mavs and you guys deserve to enjoy it. I think most of the Betsy and Devil fans understand that but are saying, now finish the job and win a couple more games,this is just a big start and there is work to do. By the way,there were a lot of great players for AC tonight but that number 14 was something special .

Yep,AC is the better team tonight.As we seen last year,this round doesn't put a gold ball in the case , there is still work for the Mavs.Now go finish the job after tonight.

The Devils will have to play a much better half to get back into this game. Not over by any means but they need to get some stops and move the ball like their first drive. AC played a solid first half and looks very good so far.I'd like to have used those timeouts at the end of the half.

I'll say to this game as I did the Tennessee vs Georgia game before hand. Depends on how they match up and we won't know until the game. I'm thinking the Devils can play defense just as Georgia did against UT and their passing game. Without reading any of this, I would say the AC fans are like I was ,thinking the UT passing game was going to do very well against the Dawgs. It's just a guessing game and we have all watched or played enough football in the past not to count our victory before the game is played.I hope it's going to be the Devils and their is no questions like the game a few years ago.More then anything,I pray it's a clean game without injuries and may the best team go on and win gold for their school and east Tennessee.

I was also at the 2017 game and thought AC had a great team that year.No question with that type of injury ,it had to have made some difference in the game.I always want to win but never want to see a young man get hurt,nomatter what team they are playing for.I remember a couple of fans cheering during that moment and the daddy in me came out fast. I'm not sorry for my actions but do apologize for the colorful language that may have offended some of the other Devil fans within 75 feet of myself.I think this year is anyones guess in part because I thought last year was going to be the Devils and that didn't happen.

Being very honest here.This is the least I've kept up with football since the game was invented in my early years.I've always enjoyed both powerhouse teams from Maryville and Alcoa. I have zero clue as to why the Rebels are not themselves this year and by looking over West season so far,they are fielding a great team this year.Yes , I did watch the Vols last week and that made up for a lot of the football I've not seen so far.As to this game and without the knowledge of who is out and why the Rebels are not themselves, I would say to those that are probably piling on,( since I've also not read a lot on coacht ). Maryville has had a great run and except maybe their cross town rivals,nearly every program in the state would love to trade trophy cases, enough said.Good luck Rebs.

One of my family members seen coach Clark tonight and said he was very nice .My former Indian that you played ball with was watching in Vegas pulling for the Tribe as I had to pull for my Devils this time around.

Sounds like a great game as was the Devils and DB. Like every year,who ever shows up in the playoffs will go west and the regular season will mean nothing.

Yeah,I think I would have ran it a couple times but they also had two guys that look to be in position to score in the zone on those two pass plays . On the other side of the coin ,as for the first half and the Devils stopping the Tribe point blank.It reminded me of Tampa Bay and not able to get a yard when they need it by running this year so far.The DB coaches were hail bent on their big guys and the Devils had a bunch in the box.I thought DB's depth might have showed up a little in the second half to counter Greeneville's better strength program.Either way,Greeneville will take the victory and DB shouldn't hang their head about this effort.

Just about as good a game as you will see at any level. I don't know if the Devils have what it takes to win it all but I believe if they can tighten up on some of the pass plays,they will be strong down the road when it counts.

Last night wasn't the end of the world had the Devils gotten beat.Same against DB in the future .These games are supposed to be tough and help when the playoffs get here. As to the refs, no they are not all perfect and a few shouldn't be out there at all.However ,like the old saying goes.If it walks like a duck and so on.Greeneville makes way to many mistakes and needs to clean up the penalties before it gets them sent home when it really counts.

Polls are worth nothing to start with.It's good to bring out the best in your competition like a big bullseye,but will get you zero at the end of the day.I wouldn't care what someone voting around the state thinks about my team.AC has a nice program and has had some of the best teams in 4a over the last several years.Unfortunately,there have been some great Knoxville area teams along with Greeneville and Betsy at the same time.There are a bunch of great 3A programs that have had to play Alcoa over the years,just the same.AC will get it's break one of these days but I wouldn't give two cents about some poll until that happens.

Reading back through some of the post and my thoughts are this.It's a double edge sword when we post on coacht.I said last year that I'd like to watch all the practices just to see everything the coaches see. Well,that wouldn't change anything because I still would just be an old Devil watching from the stands or listening on the radio and not the coach. I use to watch all of my boys practices in Kingsport,even weight training and I knew pretty much what most of the players could do. I seen some of the dumbest decisions that would make my spelling even look good and it's hard as a parent not to blast those things.Still,as a fan or parent it's always in the best interest not to in most cases.NOW,on one side of this sword,the Devil coaches have to make the best decisions to give their team it's best shot to win and their jobs depend on that in the long run. The other side is the fact we are writing about teenage boys who read this and so do the coaches and parents. I hope every player on the team has his chance to shine this year and the team can put another gold ball in the case.

Yep,when you add up all the field position yards the Devils lost probably three football fields and those two scores. Last year I was worried from the first game and it can probably be found in these threads somewhere.I think as bad as the exit was,a lot of growth for players and coaches should make this team more prepared in the 2022 playoffs.Like everyone,I see AC and know it will be a test. For sure the major emphasis going forward will be on penalties and the Devils not beating themselves.Last night should have been a blow out.My brother said 35-14 going into the game and I responded " at least "

Devils will need to play cleaner games when the playoffs get here but definitely have another great team .

Just reading a little and from up here in Kingsport, it looks like the road this year is going to go through AC unless something unfortunate happens to the Mavs like a few years ago .Like 06,I tell it the way I see it .
