  1. Going to say Katie kicks a trash can or 2 at halftime in the locker room ands SG comes out on top by 3
  2. i got started late this year with the picks but was trying to crank my percentage up lol
  3. same here. Just win and it doesnt matter. Top team or not so top team. Just go out play and win. it really shouldnt matter at this stage. IMO.
  4. Likewise . We want the Gold in West Tennessee !
  5. Region 7 Sweeps Region 8. The Glass House is going to be full of Dyer Countians when Dyer County Lady Choctaws and Dyersburg Lady Trojans hit the Boro !!!
  6. Agreed. Far better chance the DC and Dyersburg both win than the other way around.
  7. Was a 12 point game . Dyersburg hung in it Missed Turnage
  8. Any info on Melrose? Have not seen much or heard much on their squad.
  9. yeah you probably right lol. I'd like to see Dburg take it but Haywood is tough. The 2 brothers can play. Dburg would need to be at full strength to pull off the upset.
  10. Dyer County won. A very competitive game. DC pulled away late and Crocket made a run. If DC had have hit their free-throws it would not have gotten as close in the last 2 minutes of the 4th. Dyersburg came back from down 4 at the half to win by 8. Obion just looks so mechanical in their offensive sets while Dyersburg must have shot 70% or better and very athletic. Now both Dyersburg and DC have a shot at the Glass House with a win next Saturday night wherever they play in the Sub State.
  11. Haywood by 10 or 112 Haywood Regional Champs
  12. Agree. Just think DC and Dyersburg are probably the better two teams especially before the Dyersburg injuries. District is really competitive. Obion did not show much when I saw them but it's their home floor and will be looking to make a statement.
  13. Dyersburg had a bad night against Obion. Didnt play well from what I saw at all. Bad decisons and let downs most of the game. Made a run to get back in it early and then again late but let it get away. WHen looked good , they looked really good. But looked bad to me most of the game. Saying that, I think its their district tourney to win if they show up for the whole game.
  14. Hard to beat a team good team 3 times. They both came out swinging last time but Dyersburg pulled away in the end by making some plays. If the post for DC stays out of foul trouble she has been hard for Dyersburg to handle but nobody for DC has handled Crawford.
  15. Will be fun to see Dyersburg and DC on neutral floor since the split the home and home. With the injuries for Dyersburg maybe there's a slight edge to DC but this is a hotly contested matchup for the teams so any given night type mentality for this game.
  16. Then if they only travel, you are taking a chance the ones causing the issues will show up at the other school especially if it a close enough venue. Who wants that? Hate it for the kids who just want to play. Takes away from accomplishments and hard work they put in.
  17. I dont know the girls coach at all. Was impressed with how hard his team played during the game and came back to win. Like you said we all have our moments. Looked like he had one that night while watching the boys game. What brought it on? I have no idea. I just was a spectator watching the actions in the stands and floor.
  18. Gonna be fun to watch this year.
  19. HC had same problem couple weeks ago when playing at Dyer County. Same type behavior on the floor. Poor bahavior extended into the stands Girls coach actually was involved in a verbal altercation in the stands and from what I was told was totally out of line. Seems to be a theme with their basketball programs this year.
  20. officiated one of his games ? And i will say i'm just curious
  21. Maybe but a question would be how many times has he beat your team?
  22. Totally understand. Emotions do seem to cause issues from time to time but I can only speak for myself. I do think most if not all coaches have a streak in them which you describe as arrogance due to their drive and push to have their teams succeed. Most of the ones I have known personally have a bit of it in them. Some do better than others hiding it when it comes game time. Speaking for myself again, usually the ones I had negitive thoughts of, by their actions or what I perceived as undesirable qualities, have been the ones whose teams beat the team I support everytime or at least nearly every time.
  23. Not sure if has been mentioned because just jumped in a the tail end of this thread, but another reason some of the home and home series for some of the teams mentioned here are there are 2 programs at each school and the coaches for both boys and girls have to agree play the game against another school. Maybe the girls coach wants to play a certain school but the boys coach doesnt, or vice versa. Makes it difficult if you have a coach standing in the way to get a strong schedule against quality opponents and then throw the economic wrinkle into the mix for budget and travel.
  24. I agree hard to fully concentrate 100% on one when you both but most the coaches live ,eat and sleep thinking about basketball even if they have other duties at their schools so not sure exactly how much that pulls them until actual game day itself. By game day, the preparation should have there at practice. But also think alot has to do with the flow of players coming in through the programs. When a school system splits its area with kids with neighboring systems in the same county it will vary as to where the talent is for time to time. Tends it seems to run in cycles. Something comes along that brings the flow to one school or other. Could be new coaches, new facilities or kid moves in with tremendous talent and others kids and parent want to be in on that program.
