  1. I can also give you Onieda guys something to know in advance. North doesn't have a Kicker. Well, they have one but he's not a true Kicker. He's our starting LB. He's had foot problems off & on all season long. North will go for 2 point conversions 80% of the time after a TD. This is why North has some weird scores sometimes this season. We might try one but I can guarantee it won't be pretty. LOL!
  2. I made my post not seeing Oneida play in person or on film at all. I just know what I've seen out of North this season. They are capable of pulling of an upset BUT nothing that's happened this season out of North tells me otherwise. Oneida just seems like the better team plus played a tougher schedule as well.
  3. I agree with you but I don't think they will because the health of all their starting position players is way more important than winning by 70+ points in the playoffs.
  4. I think this game will be a complete blowout. Unaka is a team from my neck of the woods. They aren't a good team at all. They shouldn't even be in the playoffs but TSSAA rules allows every Region in each classification 4 playoff teams. Unaka is pretty bad. Greenback probably could just go through the motions on the field & win this game. LOL! I do think this is probably one of the worst if not thew worst mismatches in Round #1 in the playoffs. My prediction is Greenback 56 Unaka 6. Unaka will probably score very late to get those 6 points. Now what could happen is to avoid any injuries Greenback could pull back say into the 3rd quarter & play reserves the rest of the game. If that happens the score might not be as bad as 56-6 but it will still be a blowout.
  5. I went to high school many moons ago @ Sullivan North. I have followed their sports programs ever since graduating from there in 1989. I've seen North play twice this season. Both were losses to South Greene (22-0) & also to Cloudland to end the season (20-14 OT). Let me just say this is a North football team that doesn't play with any discipline. They are turnover prone as well. I know Coach Patrick & this is not a typical North team you should see with him coaching. I don't know what's going on but North just doesn't play smart football at all. North as has been the case for years & years is a running football team. They rarely throw more than 3-5 times a game. This year though North has 2 real speedsters in Hill @ WR & Potter out of the backfield that they line up @ WR sometimes. They also have another younger player in Brandon Roberts as a sophomore that is a burner as well. This is why I don't understand North doesn't throw the ball more. I guess Coach Patrick doesn't sway away at all from his coaching style regardless of the skill positions. North does have 4 RB's that are all capable of running the ball including QB Hartsock. However, they are just too predictable. Now, people could say with 4 solid RB's it would be hard to key on one certain player to carry the ball. Well, their offensive formations in my opinion gives it away. I will say some teams even if they know what's coming can't stop North's running game. However, those teams are the weaker teams from the area. When North faced South Greene, Hampton, & Cloudland their running game was kept in check. The only decent team in their conference North was able to run the ball against was Happy Valley. North lead the conference in total penalties per game & was 2nd in turnovers. They did have quite a few takeaways though so that offset some of their own turnovers. North had at least one personal foul penalty in about every game this season. Too many players losing their cool. That's where I mention this team has major discipline problems & I'm quite surprised by this from a Coach Patrick team. I don't know too much about Oneida. I have taken a look at their schedule & results. Oneida probably plays in a tougher overall conference than North. 6-4 isn't a great record considering their opponents but they lost 3 tough games as well. I also checked in on their stats. They seem to be a team that's inconsistent on offense but pretty steady on defense. They held a very good ranked Greenback team to 20 points in a 20-7 loss. They lost to ranked Upperman by a score of 25-6. They lost 24-3 to traditional state powerhouse & ranked #2 Meigs County. Those are 3 pretty tough opponents on their schedule. They weren't blown out by any of those teams. They beat a ranked King's Academy team about a month ago. Of course, to end the season they lost in a close game 22-14 to Coalfield. From what I've seen out of North I see only a very small chance North can win this game. If North can play their best game & keep their cool & not turn the ball over they could have a chance. I'm not confident in that happening though. I think Oneida is clearly a better team overall. North might run some gimmick plays to pull off an upset but I give that about a 10%-15% chance in happening. I predict Oneida to win 33-16.
  6. Read my post about North in my previous reply. Thanks.
  7. North had the injury big to hit them last season. They started out 5-0 & in that 5th game 7 starters went down to injuries. 5 of them were season ending injuries. North went on to lose their last 5 games of the season but made the playoffs only to get stomped in the first round. I've seen North play (they're my alma mater, 1989 graduate) & they are still the same 'ol smashmouth run it down your throat football team. However, Coach Patrick has added some gadgets to the offense that's throwing defenses off. They are running more off tackle plays & a few end arounds to the WR's as well. They still only pass 3-4 times per game even though they have 2 speedsters @ WR in Hill & Roberts. North's defense is unpredictable though. They stopped Johnson County 2 weeks ago but against a Cosby team gave up almost 400 yards of offense & 31 points. I expect Chuckey-Doak to gain some yards & put up some points but North should outscore them. This is North's 1st home game of the season after playing the 1st 3 games of the season on the road. Next week though will be North's biggest game of the season to date when they take on South Greene in a bigtime conference matchup. I sure hope the players aren't looking past the Black Knights to the South Greene game. Chuckey-Doak is good enough to beat the Raiders for sure. Having said that, I think North wins this game by 12+ points. I'm thinking something like 32-20 or 36-22.
  8. Very very good questions. I can't remember the last time the Tornadoes didn't score a TD in a game. I would think giving up a 17 play drive would have come before not scoring a TD in a game but it's probably been years for both. Maryville ended up clearly being the better team but the 1st half it was pretty even. Like a lot of other people posting has said, the Rebels just wore down Alcoa's defense & especially the DL. It was still great defense played by both teams. I do think Alcoa's playcalling was questionable though. They didn't do some things I expected them to try. They tried to run the ball way too much. I will say that the Alcoa QB when throwing didn't have much zip on the ball either. A lot of weak & fluttering passes. A couple were under pressure but quite a few others were just lame ducks in the air. I still think both of these teams have an 80%+ chance to win state titles.
  9. Maryville won this game BUT the officiating was pretty bad against Alcoa. Again, I didn't have a dog in this fight but I am just calling what I seen. Maryville had quite a bit more total offense & wore down Alcoa in the trenches but this wasn't the type of game that's such a rivalry that deserved poor officiating. I feel like the officials cost Alcoa 10-14 points in this one. Maryville still probably would have won because they just dominated the OL & DL but it should have been a much closer game.
  10. Why even have the dang website then? That is just ridiculous! They should be ashamed of themselves! Geez!
  11. Rivalry Thursday website is hung up/froze on me. Anybody else watching from there having the same issue?
  12. I'm not in the viewing area for that channel. I live in the Tri-Cities area of East Tennessee. I don't get why rivalrythursday.com has the game listed right from their homepage as going to be broadcast but not listed for Live/Upcoming games. There's a mixup or something!
  13. The game is listed as going to be shown from their home page but the list is empty for Live/Upcoming games:
  14. I just checked rivalrythursday.com website & under the Live/Upcoming tab there's not a game listed for tonight. Only On Demand games available. Do they not put it up until just before kickoff time? Thanks.
  15. 2020-21 school year! They will have 1 more year of sports & the school itself after this school calendar year. I've got North in this game. It's my alma mater though. LOL! I went there back in the 1980's though when it was a class 5A school & we were in the Big 10 conference along with Dobyns-Bennett & Science Hill among a solid group of sport schools. I'm going to say North 39 Chuckey-Doak 22.
  16. I've got South Greene to win in this one by 14+ points. Something like 31-17 or 35-14. West Greene has won their 1st 2 games but not by much especially against Claiborne (6 points in OT). Northview Academy isn't very good & they only beat them by 14 points. The Rebels I feel like are the favorites now to win their conference. Hampton was picked to win by the media during the preseason. Sullivan North which is my alma mater is also 3-0 like South Greene & they meet next week @ North. Could end up being a game for the conference championship.
  17. I think this is going to be a barnburner of a football game. I'm picking Alcoa by 3 points. Something like 24-21. I've had people in my local area ask me how a Class 3A school in Alcoa could beat a Class 6A school in Maryville? Both are typical state powerhouses but people say that Maryville just has too much for Alcoa. I don't see it that way. I'm neither an Alcoa or Maryville fan either. I just love good football games. This just might be the best regular season football game of the season. I think the Tornadoes pull it out by probably only a FG. I don't see either team winning by more than 7 points though.
  18. Covington just dominated the Class AA state tournament from start to finish. I picked Covington to start the season but changed my pick to Greeneville during the season.
  19. I picked Farragut from the season start to win the state. I thought the other team that could challenge them was Station Camp but they got beat in the Sectionals. Of the 8 teams that ended up going to the state in AAA I would have picked Bartlett as having the best chance at challenging Farragut. You can never count out Bradley Central either because of their tradition. However, in 2019, the Admirals were clearly the best Class AAA team in the state. Hagenow is a BEAST on the mound & Noland is one heck of a baseball player. Vandy is getting a great player & young man in Noland while Kentucky is getting a pitching gem in Hagenow.
  20. LOL! Nope not related at all. I don't have a twin but if you see anything looking like a clown then it could be an unknown twin of mine! LOL! Here's a link to the Covington player that made SportsCenter: https://www.coacht.com/tennessee/article.cfm?id=607938
  21. My panties in a wad? LOL! There are only opinions on what I asked & no right or wrong answers. That's the facts buddy. You just blown what I posted way out of proportion dude. Enticing folks? Are you kidding me? I asked for opinions but YOU came back with a post stating anything otherwise than what you said would be WRONG! That's not enticing anybody! You put this on yourself with saying there is only one answer & that's simply not true. You post it another way other than saying you're right in what you said regardless then I wouldn't had a problem with what you posted at all. Had to call you out though because of what you posted which wasn't really an opinion because you added that anything else other than what you said was WRONG! Don't come back at me when what you said is to blame. I was trying to get opinions from folks & not someone saying there is ONLY 1 answer & nothing else. By the way, I wasn't bragging about my picks either. Someone mentioned my % on the picks before. Somebody else poked fun at the games I missed. I was simply posting my % stats from all of postseason picks which weren't bad at all. That's all I was doing. Not bragging at ALL! No need to brag. It's something that I like to do. There's not a single thing wrong in me doing it either. No rules against me posting whatever picks I want to make either.
  22. Excellent post & explanation. +2 on that post buddy. Something like this happening can really take a toll on a kid's life. You said it great about what God has in store for him in the future. Sometimes bad things happen in order for God to allow something good to take place in the future. More importantly what you said is that this is just a game. Not the GAME OF LIFE but just a baseball game.
