  1. LOL! Go ahead & say it. I'm just FULL OF BOLOGNA! LOL!
  2. Boy's Class A: Ja'darius Harris, Peabody Boy's Class AA: K.J. Johnson, Marshall County Boy's Class AAA: James Wiseman, Memphis East Boy's DII-A: Keon Johnson, Webb School Boy's DII-AA: Kennedy Chandler, Briarcrest Christian

  4. One thing in your guys favor is that Malcolm Dandridge won't be on the court for Memphis East. That will help you guys out a little.
  5. Yes they did. It will be a very tough task beating Wiseman & company.
  6. Class A Game #1: Eagleville vs Cosby (Thursday, March 14th @ 1:15 PM) Game #2: Columbia Academy vs Manassas (Thursday, March 14th @ 2:45 PM) Game #3: University High vs McKenzie (Thursday, March 14th @ 4:30 PM) Game #4: Humboldt vs Fayetteville (Thursday, March 14th @ 6:00 PM) Class AA Game #1: Howard vs East Nashville (Wednesday, March 13th @ 10:00 AM) Game #2: Mitchell vs Fulton (Wednesday, March 13th @ 11:30 AM) Game #3: Wooddale vs Austin-East (Wednesday, March 13th @ 1:15 PM) Game #4: Brainerd vs Pearl-Cohn (Wednesday, March 13th @ 2:45 PM) Class AAA Game #1: Sevier County vs Whitehaven (Wednesday, March 13th @ 4:30 PM) Game #2: Bearden vs Franklin (Wednesday, March 13th @ 6:00 PM) Game #3: Oakland vs Brentwood (Thursday, March 14th @ 10:00 AM) Game #4: Cleveland vs Memphis East (Thursday, March 14th @ 11:30 AM) ALL games played @ MTSU (Middle Tennessee State University campus in Murfreesboro). All scheduled games are local time (CST). There is a minimum 15 minute break between scheduled games.
  7. Yes. I didn't think Fayetteville would have a chance against Clay County. I picked them to win by 15-20+ points. Fayetteville was in it the whole game & ended up the winner. I think this is their 1st ever trip to the state tourney in girl's basketball & maybe in basketball period (boy's & girl's).
  8. I am honestly shocked that Sevier County is in the state tournament. They just didn't look like a state tourney team back in December when I seen them play. They have improved dramatically but I personally feel unless they get a very favorable draw this evening then they are gone in the 1st round. DB just about pulled off a major upset @ Bearden. That was also a shocker to me. DB slowed the game down to a snail's pace & tried to run at least 1:00 minute off the clock each possession. It worked because Bearden got totally frustrated. Bearden being the up tempo & offensive juggernaut team they are was just not used to any team playing them like this. It was a great gameplan from DB coach Chris Poore. It almost worked. Now I wonder if any team in the state tourney will employ this same type of strategy when playing Bearden? I wasn't shocked that Whitehaven beat Bartlett but I am a little shocked at the final score. I picked Bartlett to win but I also said before that Whitehaven is good enough to be in the State Championship game as well. Depending on the pairings to be released here soon I think Memphis East & Franklin could be the favored teams. Watch them end up being paired up in the quarterfinals. LOL!
  9. I'm with you because the TSSAA knows these games aren't going to be played on time as scheduled except for the opening game each day. I also don't like the fact of having the same classification play their quarterfinal games on different days. They have 2 games one day & 2 games the next. To be honest, that's not fair to ALL teams in the tourney. This gives 2 teams an advantage with a day of rest over the other teams. I don't get their scheduling but the TSSAA has really had issues with this for years. It needs to be addressed/looked into & fixed to make this state tourney fair for ALL teams involved.
  10. Class A University High Cosby Fayetteville Eagleville Columbia Academy McKenzie Humboldt Manassas Class AA Austin-East Fulton Brainerd Howard Pearl-Cohn East Nashville Mitchell Wooddale Class AAA Sevier County Bearden Cleveland Oakland Brentwood Franklin Whitehaven Memphis East The boy's state tourney draw will be held @ 5 PM CST tomorrow (March 5th).
  11. Just because Loretto has a 30-1 record doesn't make them the favorite. It's a very good record but it also depends on strength of schedule & if they played tough competition to get that 30-1 record. I know they played some solid teams including Summertown but to me I don't see them as the favorite. Greenfield is the favorite in my opinion but they could also lose to Clarkrange in the opening round too. I think you're right. Greenfield would be the favorite but not by a landslide by any means for this season. If they beat Clarkrange then it will likely be Loretto next so they have a very tough road to the Championship Game.
  12. I thought Cosby boys would beat University High in the R-1A Championship Game. University High beat them so I'm not sure about Cosby now. I think you're right. Oneida boys definitely have a good chance of knocking Cosby out of the postseason in their Sectional matchup tomorrow night even though I picked Cosby. LOL!
  13. Yeah, in one of the NET Stat Leaders articles before the final one the writer specifically stated the stats were only from teams that reported into them (Johnson City Press). A few NET teams didn't report stats into them at all so some players are missing from the Stat Leaders articles they have posted from their website during the season.
  14. Well, they are now @ home no more. They did win their Sectional matchup. They drew Loretto though in the state quarterfinal game. Loretto is 31-1 & tough so I think Oneida will be whipped pretty good in the opening round of the state tourney.
  15. Clarkrange drew Greenfield in the quarterfinals so I don't think they can beat them but you're right. You just never know in these state tourney matchups. Any team can beat another team on any given day.
  16. My picks for the quarterfinals in bold above.
  17. Class A Game #1: Oneida vs Loretto (Thursday, March 7th @ 1:15 PM) Game #2: Greenfield vs Clarkrange (Thursday, March 7th @ 2:45 PM) Game #3: Eagleville vs Midway (Thursday, March 7th @ 4:30 PM) Game #4: Summertown vs Gibson County (Thursday, March 7th @ 6:00 PM) Class AA Game #1: Macon County vs Covington (Wednesday, March 6th @ 10:00 AM) Game #2: Cheatham County vs Grainger (Wednesday, March 6th @ 11:30 AM) Game #3: Marshall County vs DeKalb County (Wednesday, March 6th @ 1:15 PM) Game #4: Westview vs South Greene (Wednesday, March 6th @ 2:45 PM) Class AAA Game #1: Arlington vs Riverdale (Wednesday, March 6th @ 4:30 PM) Game #2: Houston vs Mt. Juliet (Wednesday, March 6th @ 6:00 PM) Game #3: Bradley Central vs Lebanon (Thursday, March 7th @ 10:00 AM) Game #4: Oak Ridge vs Science Hill (Thursday, March 7th @ 11:30 AM) I still don't understand why they have games with just a 1 1/2 hour gap between games. Can't they schedule these state tourney games 2 hours apart? Geez! They know most games after the initial game each day will not be starting on time as scheduled.
  18. I have to agree with you. I think Macon County & Riverdale are clearly the better teams in Class AA & AAA. I think Greenfield in Class A is a slight favorite but they are not the clear cut favorites like in AA & AAA. I think there are about 3 teams in Class A that can win it all (Greenfield, Gibson County, & Summertown).
  19. Class A Oneida Midway Clarkrange Eagleville Summertown Loretto Greenfield Gibson County Class AA South Greene Grainger DeKalb County Macon County Cheatham County Marshall County Westview Covington Class AAA Science Hill Oak Ridge Bradley Central Riverdale Lebanon Mt. Juliet Arlington Houston The girl's state tourney drawing will be held later today (Sunday, March 3rd) @ 2:00 PM Central (3:00 PM EST) time to get the quarterfinal pairings for the state tourney bracket for all 3 levels of classification (A-AAA).
  20. Why is this section so dead? I know this is mainly a high school sports forum but we're in the Volunteer state guys. Time to bring this Vols section back to life. After getting our butts spanked in Rupp we came back today looking like the #1 team in the country we were for 3 straight weeks. Bone was absolutely amazing today. Our defense was the best it's been all season long too. Grant & Bone carried us today. I was hoping Schofield would break out of his slump today but he didn't do so. He did have a key basket down the stretch though. 2 more games left to play in the SEC & we're tied for 1st with LSU in the conference. We will need to finish 1 complete game ahead of the Tigers to take the regular season title outright because LSU would own the tiebreak since they beat us. If we end up tied with them we would share the title but LSU would have the #1 overall seed for the SEC conference tourney. We have Miss. State @ home & Auburn on the road left. I think we will handle our business @ home against Miss. State but I'm concerned about the away game to end the season @ Auburn. We will probably need to win both of these last 2 games in order to win the regular season title outright. GO VOLS!
  21. Don't shoot the messenger. This was stats posted by the newspaper Johnson City Press. The article is titled "NET Stat Leaders". I too think teams like Greeneville, Morristown West, Morristown East, Cocke County, etc, are part of NET but they didn't include them in the stats article. They also only reported on the schools that provided them the stats as well. If schools didn't provide them stats then some players/schools were not included either.
  22. Memphis East is one of the favorites definitely to win Class AAA state title but the above injuries to Merriweather & Dandridge could be a problem for them. From what I've read the Dandridge knee injury will probably keep him out at least through the quarterfinals of the state tourney & possibly the rest of the season. Merriweather will probably be back but maybe not for the Sectional against Bolton. They can beat Bolton easily without these 2 players but after that in the state tourney I think they will need them both. Just too many other really good teams left. Then again when you a James Wiseman it's possible he can carry the team himself to at least the state title game. He's just that good!
  23. This area(NET) wouldn't include Greeneville. It's NorthEast Tennessee area. I know it's a bit confusing but I got this information from the Johnson City Press which is a very reliable source. Thanks. Exactly. Glad you noticed/understood that.
