  1. Not bad. I could see Henry County going either way (6/7or8). The TSSAA would probably need to swap the numbers on 6 and 7.
  2. So you are saying: seven teams south of Williamson County six teams in Williamson and Davidson five teams (Dickson, Springfield, Beech, Hendersonville and Portland) Odd number of teams in two regions, I don't like that. six teams south of Williamson County (move Springhill north) six teams in Williamson and Davidson (move Hunter's Lane to the north region and pickup Springhill from the south) six teams (Dickson, Springfield, Beech, Hendersonville, Portland and Hunter's Lane)
  3. You may be right. The TSSAA likes even numbers because it makes it easier for schools to fill schedules. How would you reshuffle them?
  4. With the Clarksville schools moving up to 6A, how about this? REGION 1 Daniel Boone High School David Crockett High School Morristown-Hamblen High School West Tennessee High School Cocke Co. High School Sevier Co. High School REGION 2 Knoxville Central High School Knoxville Halls High School Campbell Co. High School Clinton High School Oak Ridge High School REGION 3 West High School Powell High School Heritage High School Karns High School Lenoir City High School REGION 4 McMinn Co. High School Rhea County High School Ooltewah High School The Howard School Walker Valley High School East Hamilton High School REGION 5 Franklin Co. High School Tullahoma High School Shelbyville Central High School Lincoln Co. High School REGION 6 Hunters Lane High School Portland High School Beech Senior High School Glencliff High School Hendersonville High School Hillsboro High School Springfield High School Dickson Co. High School REGION 7 Columbia Central High School Spring Hill High School Lawrence Co. High School Page High School Nolensville High School Centennial High School REGION 8 Henry Co. High School Brighton High School Kingsbury High School Memphis Central High School Munford High School Overton High School Southwind High School
  5. Just throwing a few west TN names out that have won multiple championships. Not sure if any would be interested. Shane Jacobs - Trenton Peabody Darren Bowlin - Muray, KY former Union City HC Jeff Morris - Retired from Milan
  6. No doubt they have a good history. Historically speaking they shouldn't bump anyone down from this list of FIVE. A strong case could be made for them to be in a top 10 though. My criteria would be gold and silver trophies. Yours may be something else. We can agree to disagree if that is the case.
  7. Have they won more than one championship? No they don't deserve to bump anyone on this list.
  8. Uhmm you forget....MOSQUITOES! But it is October so yes you are right except Boyettes!
  9. If Peabody and McKenzie both play down, is the West tougher in 1A or 2A? I know Westview and Camden dropped to 2A but I am not sure if that really comes close to the drop in talent losing Peabody.
  10. Nope. Anything untrue? Did I leave anything out?
  11. So lets be honest the formula is very simple to compete year in year out(3rd round or higher CONSISTENTLY). 1. Community has ATHLETES or recruits them (we all know it happens). 2.Community supports football. (positively pressures their kids to play, has high expectations and pays quality coaches.) 3.School supports football. HIRES multiple QUALITY coaches and PAYS them better than surrounding schools so they stay and build a PROGRAM. The stronger the three of the above are the better the program.
  12. Let me think....They have had a few district championships in that round ball sport....Lots of 1st round losses in regionals in that sport...A big bank that looks out of place...yeah I think that's it.
  13. I will probably need a shower after taking up for Greenfield but here goes. Lake Counties ONLY non region game is Westview which was a slaughter. Greenfield has played three non region opponents Scott's Hill, Hollow Rock-Bruceton, and Fulton County. Score from wins over common district opponents LC +58 GHS+48. This game will not be a blow out. It will be relatively close and could go either way.
  14. If you look at the past, TSSAA usually tries to make as many even number regions as possible. Helps all teams with scheduling.

  16. The big question is are any of the new small schools going to play football?
  17. Mckenzie.... interesting. I assume they under reported? These two sites are two years old and show enrollment by grade. Totals for current 9-12 comes to 363. Lost 30 kids from for grades in two years. If true makes one wonder what is going on to make them want to leave. https://nces.ed.gov/ccd/schoolsearch/school_detail.asp?Search=1&County=Carroll County&State=47&ID=470279000984 https://nces.ed.gov/ccd/schoolsearch/school_detail.asp?Search=1&County=Carroll County&State=47&ID=470279000985
  18. Home school students are little different but they do not count. Yes potentially a very large can.
  19. I am sure that there are others. Lincoln Central Academy (Lincoln County) Polk Innovative Learning Academy Henry County Virtual Academy *Disclaimer not sure which ones if any "co-op" with another school.
  20. Some school systems have created "new" schools to "house" their virtual students. These will take numbers away from the parent school.
  21. I doubt Lampkins would want them to score more than 24.
  22. You are correct. Defense goes to 3.25 still first also!
