  1. Very promising start for our freshman QB. He did really well. The defense however… never thought I’d ever say this about a Watertown Defense led by Coach Hackett… They’re just not very physical. It looks like no one wants to tackle. One guy gets hands on a runner and 4 or 5 guys stand there watching him then act surprised when the runner breaks free. No one wants to just square up and tackle.
  2. H20 can’t seem to get out of their own way. 3 weeks of very consistent inconsistency. One series the offense moves the ball down the field. The next it’s 1st and 45 due to penalties and they are coughing up the ball like they were choking on it. The defense has not been what this team has always hung its hat on. Very suspect in the secondary and just not very stout up front. Next week is going to be ugly at Lebanon. If H20 scores at all, we should consider it a win… Lebanon will score as much as they want.
  3. From what I understand DeKalb is better than recent years. If H2O makes the same number of mistakes as last week, they won’t beat anybody. If they play a solid game in all three phases, not perfect, solid, they should win… 24-13 maybe.
  4. When anyone from SC gets word on the injured player please post an update here. Thanks.
  5. Sequatchie County is a good team, taking nothing away from them... But Watertown beat themselves tonight. This should have been at least a 14 point win by H2O. SC capitalized on our MANY MANY MANY mistakes. The better team won, good teams don't make this many mistakes.
  6. Does H20 have any more feet they shoot themselves in?
  7. They sling it based on what I’ve seen. 5 passing TDs in their last game. Good team. Our defense will be tested for sure.
  8. I agree with your assessment and your proper grammar. We are going to see if the H2O defense is what we hope it is. These Injuns do throw it around the yard. 5 passing TDs in their game last night. Like Purple Tigers circa 2019.
  9. 1 hour and 47 min drive… who put this region together? Exxon?
  10. Would like to delete my account, please send the email referred to in this thread. Thanks.
  11. It’s not hatred, it’s opinion based on roughly a decade of observation, conversations with former and current players, and a lifetime of experience. I do know what I’m talking about and do not see the need to explain myself to you or anyone else. You have your opinion, I have mine. Unlike some I will not name call or question the intelligence of those who I disagree with. I will leave you with this. A former player texted me after seeing my comment and said “The bad Webster is always there, it just shows more in big games.” Not my words, his. and stop.
  12. They can stay at the Creekbank if they want. The game will be in Watertown.
  13. I’ve got a saying for situations like this… It’s easier to believe what has happened before will happen again, than it is believe what hasn’t happened will ever happen. TC has every right to come into this game feeling like the favorite. H2O needs to get this monkey off our back’s once and for all. Looking forward to another instant classic.
  14. Looks like we are back to bad Webster for this game. Hopefully something changes at the half.
  15. I think all H2O’s would love to see that. We would love a shot to get that monkey off our back.
  16. Me too. This is probably the best coaching job this staff has done in recent memory. I still think this staff squandered a few State Champion caliber teams in the past… but I have to admit Webster surprised the heck out of me this season.
  17. Good solid win by H2O. They were pretty much able to move the ball at will. Passing game, running game, it was all working. #13 on Bledsoe is a beast. He was one block or broken tackle away from a big night. I saw him limping a bit after the first possession but it looked like he was able to walk it off. Good to see. The QB has a nice arm. Again just a catch or two away from a big night for him too. Bledsoe seem like a good team that’s so close to be really good. One man’s opinion with a limited sample size, but that’s what it looked like. Survive and advance… Let’s Go Purple.
  18. Hate to hear a kid losing his senior year to injury. I hope he heals up well. Safe travels to H2O.
  19. We just watched an undersized but more determined H2O dismantle TC. A team like that can do some damage, especially if their opponent underestimates them. It’s always the smaller scrappy dude that wins bar fights. If this game becomes a bar fight, I like H2O’s chances. The H2O coaching staff has done some things I didn’t think they were capable of, they changed and adapted. They have done a great job. We always knew they were well coached on the D side of the ball. But I think some additions to the coaching staff this year has really helped the offensive side of things. Having Seth Price as another voice on the sidelines, in my opinion has been huge. Also having Coach Self helping with the line has made a noticeable difference. So we are in a position that I frankly didn’t think we’d be in. So while we may be playing with house money at this point, it’s still our money to play with. Purple Tigers survive in advance.
  20. What a great game. TC… until we meet again, hopefully in a few weeks.
  21. Well… this was a night of firsts. I’ve seen a lot of football in my a bit over half a century riding on this rock while it hurls itself around the sun… but I saw things tonight that I have never seen at any level of football. That being said I’m not going to go into details or call out a high school kid on the internet. However I will call out some adults. What ever coach is in charge of White’s Creek’s special teams should reconsider his teaching methods… it’s not working. I honestly feel bad for those kids. Their crowd was in danger of being out numbered by their band… and that’s not hyperbole. There were easily 3 times as many folks from Watertown than folks from White’s Creek. They couldn’t even find 3 adults invested enough to run the chains. They had to use 3 injured players to run the chains. We all know how hard these kids work. To see a community give such little support to their kids was a bit disheartening. The White’s Creek kids played all the way to end and punched in a late TD. I really hope they turn things around and get some support from their community. Without community support turning things around will be that much harder, if not impossible. Good game by the purple. Just need to work on the timing of some of those passing plays. But the plays have been there the past couple of weeks, we’ve just been a bit off. Once that gets worked out the boys will have some fire power. Very happy to see some steady progress. Glad I was wrong.
