Nobody wins without talent. No matter how you dice it , talent matters . Broome is getting a better deal financially as well but would you turn down a pay raise and you can work for a friend ? What does lower classifications mean in the state championship game? You can't fault a school where they fall, it's not like everyone is walking into a state cause of lower classifications . The problem with metro is not the coaching it's the BOE , lack of support , lack of funds and lack of jobs in the middle . Metro will continue to lose the good coaches they have if this isn't fixed

Fb247 you just like to hear yourself talk . metro has had some really good coaches that can coach. It's amazing the kids are the reason they win but the coach is the reason they lose No one says that when it's county or private schools , I wonder why . Yet metro beats some of those schools. The principal has the help get those coaches in the building . No matter who gets Overton it will struggle , you harp on Broome but he gave them a winning season for the first time in about 5 years . Tony Brunetti won state, Eddie woods went to state, Stewart took east , Harris took east ,Thompson took Maplewood ,Broome took Maplewood , Blade took Hillsboro Clayton took Hillsboro and so did Aydelot no other county has had that many multiple schools . Alexander can't fix that and he would leave in 2 years as well

Truth hurts I guess. Why don't you go ask him that but taking an East team that never made it past the 2nd round isn't a ready made team compared to a team that went to back to back state championship. I want to see East and and all metro schools prosper , but it's clear backlash that the first thing said is they have good players it's never they can coach , when the roles are reversed it's always they are a well coached team .

Either you're a sour graper or you had an issue with someone on the staff , a team that ain't won a thing goes back to back championships and you say the current staff who you just said ain't played nobody is a better staff than the previous one . What a joke . Harris is good but you're reaching. What grinds my gears is certain coaches can coach and then you say certain coaches have good players . It's amazing that minority coaches that are successful "they always have good kids" but if white coaches have the same type of kids it's always "they are good coaches and run a great program "... I've heard when Hillsboro was good in the aydelot ( great coach ) 2000s Maplewood (Ralph Thompson and Centae Broome have good players ), PC STATE RUNS (Tony Brunetti has the best kids in the city ) , CR state runs( Eddie got the best kids on his side of town) , East state runs ( loaded talent ) it's only been the same kids that attended these schools before those coaches got there .... but when Scott Blade did it he was the best coach on this side of the spectrum. It's sad .

Simpson is trying to rebuild a broken program and instill discipline which resulted in suspending his best players. It's a work in progress , hats off to him trying to rebuild my alma mater . On the contrary of what Harris did, he wanted a ready made team which is why he didn't take it the first time since he was option one which was previously mentioned . It took the last staffs success and development to make him take it this time , anybody can see that . I'm not saying it's a bad thing but that's clear as day what it was , along with him not getting PC job no time soon. East returned a great group of kids so success was going to be there no matter who coached . Simpson was an option for east but he had already accepted the Maplewood job when East opened . Friday will be a real test this is the only team so far that is worth a nickel. East would be 5-0 if the custodian coached them.

My coaching days are well past me , it wasn't a knock at Harris it's really a knock at the process . I've heard a decision will be made by mid week next week.

I haven't heard half of the names that's East interviewed for the job . Harris is a clear cut winner based on coaching experience and background . Very humorous and embarrassing for the school . A guy from Maplewood staff, Mt. Juliet Christian , non faculty coach can not be cream of the crop options for this job . Metro will be metro

Not having coaches in the building is ridiculous. That shows a lack of support . They help facilitate the school .Cane Ridge principal gets it . East new principal came from a elementary school so I'm not shocked with her lack of support. Stewart leaving was a big loss for the program. How do you even let that happen?

He is just stirring the pot , He does not care , he is not a real supporter , he use to be but moved to PC , that's why he mentioned their staffers . He may not have ever met the guy .all the turmoil, hostility and brawls amongst each other why would East hire a PC guy. It will be several applicants. Why would a PC guy want the job if they hate East so much? Is there anyone on the staff that could get a shot ?

Could Dyson talk Woods, Stewart, Crouch into taking the job? Is this a good job ? It seems inconsistent but full of potential.

News Flash you had 5 D1 kids on offense , you could of walked to the line of scrimmage and been successful. " Blazing Fast " didnt do it the kids did. Yall beat who you were suppose to beat plain and simply. I didnt matter if they hired Andy Reid you would of complained cause its not the fast offense in America any more. Blackman needs a reality check . The program isnt what you think it is! You have yet to hire a knockout hire since Shads departure when the program was hot. Blaze did you cry when Tygard resigned ? You should of packed up and rode with him because you seem to think he was God's Gift the Boro. Give Kriesky a chance at least, before you cry. He will at least give you 5 or more years of stability

This thread is wild! Yall are asking for a coach to come in and trend the same direction as Tygard? NEWS FLASH HE DIDNT DO ANYTHING IN HIS TENURE! Its the same results, 5-5 season 10-3 season , post about BLAZE FAST OFFENSE , WHO IS TIMING IT ?? and its not hard coaching the talent he had fellas. Do you care about the dog and pony show or changing the culture! Their kids post and care about highlights because their leader was always on social media talking bout some kind of crap. It starts from the top.The program hasnt been the same since Shad left . That team had some fight and attitude and thats what they need to get back to. Pick the right coach not the politician. None of those names mentioned wow me at all but RUCO is going to have to step it up . Woods is the most successful of the final 3 but you cant tell me there wasnt better option for this job.

Metro has some really good coaches , it's tougher coaching in todays day than the early eras. It's way more obstacles .The metro kids are being snatched more than ever in todays era . Old metro had good coaches but they didn't have to worry about their players going to another school due to an academy or education offer neither, and for the record some of those great old school coaches recruited as well let's not act like that. I'm 100% sure of it , I was around . HB , CR , PC ,EN have all went to a state championship. CR went to a state championship in the highest classification. That's real impressive.

I personally don't know one coach on that staff I'm just looking at outcomes , but I do know when y'all did play Blackman when I was around it was a massacre and y'all never been back since . So the personal vendetta vs a coach is wrong as well. I do think the head coach is a good guy . You guys talk extremely too much to still have no rings since the 90s. Y'all should have at least 2 with the talent y'all recruit in . That's all I'm saying .

The talent y'all have , y'all have done less with more than anybody in metro and y'all want a cookie for being the best in metro WITH NO RINGS. That would require coaching and we see y'all are subpar without Brown , Vaughn , etc. Y'all are excited about a Lipscomb scrimmage and y'all lost to CR . A full game y'all would lose by 30. You want props , next cycle schedule Oakland , Riverdale , CPA , Blackman and win . We know y'all ran from Lipscomb in a real game last season , like y'all ran from Alcoa to 4A. I wouldn't be surprised if y'all ran from 4A after y'all get put out in the 2nd or 3rd round this year. I been around for 25 plus years I've seen it all and coached in metro and RUCO , Wilco , and private sector so the term hater is a joke I just see through the smoke and mirrors y'all present .

Good to see Mcgavock turning around. CR and East are pretty good PC needs a superhero to be dominant, injuries or not they still have some of the best athletes on the field , they will win the next couple of games cause their region is terrible other than Tullahoma and Marshall who both are average at best . They definitely have success to come in this region but I'll bet a steak dinner they run back to 3A! Hillsboro is having a tough time but they have lost several starters as well but I still saw them beating SC. It's a rough road ahead of them as well Overton is still a toss up. Good for HL for the best start in years Everyone else is below par ....

Neither one of those teams can beat East Nashville. I don't think Overton or Mcgavock is better than PC. Hillsboro will be better than last year . CR is good in my opinion and their team is very experienced.
