  1. Maybe I can shed a little light on this for both of y’all. Yes the policy, as stated, is open zoned. You have to have a darn good reason and go before the school board for them to allow you to attend another school, a waiver. It would take almost an act of Congress for them, the school board to let this happen. The board of education had a rather large issue a few years back with the DOJ, department of justice, regarding zoning lines. Now we have kids that live in the city limits bused out to county schools when they live maybe a few blocks from their naturally zoned schools. It’s a mess to say the least. Since all of this has occurred I don’t know of anyone in the county that has been granted a waiver to attend out of zone. I do believe the whole “open zone” post were brought up by someone other than Springfield fans. The Jackets will step off the bus Saturday morning and be prepared to play Elizabethton. Zoning issues won’t matter one ounce to any of our players, at all. Sorry for the long post.
  2. The little engine that could strikes again.....Go Jackets!
  3. Happy Thanksgiving Giving to the Jackets and the Tomcat faithful, and yes even you bigredmachine. Safe travels to all this holiday/football weekend.
  4. He’s really a Yellow Jacket at heart. Most of his post are about Springfield Athletics.......
  5. You’ll have plenty of time to eat Friday. You don’t have a FOOTBALL game to get too.....
  6. Same with us pretty much. More of an offense by committee. Although 9 has been tearing it up running the ball lately and 5, the qb, has as well. I don’t think the passing game will be a factor Friday for either team. It’s going to rain for 3 straight days, on an already saturated field, here in Springfield. I’ve been wrong before though so I’ll guess we’ll see.
  7. Who does Haywood have back from last years team? I know they were senior heavy, but obviously they’ve got some guys back that contributed on last years squad.
  8. I was joking. I posted that there’s no way you can leave the new place at all lol
  9. Momentum in these games are huge. The Jackets had it two years ago, caught fire and won the game. The Tomcats got it in the second half of last years contest and walked away with it. It’s going to be another great contest pitting strength against strength. Springfield’s defense against Haywoods offense. Should be another great semi-final match up.
  10. Dito. Might as well mark our calendars for Black Friday lol
  11. I see the new troll has found his way to our thread......
  12. Not as sad as yours. We’re still playing football at ours.....
  13. I know. I played on it. I was being facetious.....no way you leave the new field with the “black magic” that surrounds that place.
  14. It’s a mud pit right now. Torn to pieces. Maybe time to resurrect Boyce Smith Field......
  15. Hats off to the Hardin County Tigers. Y’all played one heck of a ball game.
  16. I understand what you mean about the head to heads being sporadic. Heck that 3A region with the above mentioned teams, was wild how it ended it up. I hope the Jackets win by two TD’s. I know they’re more than capable, but the weather will play a huge factor in my honest opinion. Should be a fun one to watch.
  17. I’d say they’ll play this one to the bone, if it’s going to be the kind of game I think it will be. I’ve been wrong before, but in a close game you always make the smart call. Play the percentages.
  18. I have too. I don’t think they’d do that in a quarter finals game is what I mean.
  19. Thanks, I don’t think the coaching staff would gamble that much lol! Good luck to your yellow jackets this Friday as well.
  20. Trader give us your opinion on this game. I know you keep up with the programs on the west side of the river better than us Mid-TN folks. That South Side team form last year had one of the best defenses we saw all year, and yes, both Haywood teams were beasts. I do agree the west side has had the easier path in 4A the last couple of years, but hey you play who you play.
  21. I’m thinking the same thing about the rain. I know the Jackets have played quiet a few wet cold games this year, and have had problems with the shotgun snaps at times. Looks like they’ve got that corrected for the most part, I hope. How has Hardin County faired in wet weather with ball security? I’m looking for a low scoring tight game in this one either way.
