  1. They lost 6 seniors from last year and majority of them were big contributors. They have 8 seniors this year. They’re not bad but nothing special. Their score with NG is misleading, the game was much closer. NG held them to 100 yards of offense through three quarters but turned the ball over twice on their own 10 with one being a pick six. Their skill guys are their strong suit. I think the Landers should be in the ball game and could pull out a win.
  2. No clue, that’s just what I heard around Greeneville. Figured they’d use nfhs because they give some money to the school based on subscriptions. I’m sure some elderly folk and parents with kids would love to be able to catch all their games.
  3. They want people to come spend money at the gate. Been like that as long as streaming was a thing.
  4. From seeing both teams this summer, Mo West should handle East but you never know in a rivalry game.
  5. Good point. For a small school they sure do have quality coaches in just about every sport. If they don’t challenge this year then they definitely should next year with only 3 seniors.
  6. Should be competitive. NG is still relatively young with 4 sophomores and a junior up front and several young skills kids. Talent is there so should be a good game
  7. SG also scored twice against NG’s 2&3’s. WG played their starters the whole quarter and couldn’t score against a bad Unaka team.
  8. Not sure if it will be this week but I definitely think they find a win somewhere this year.
  9. PF lost their best rb last year (35). Hampton has some really good skill guys and some young, huge linemen. PF typically runs a wing-t type of offense so should be a physical game on the ground both ways. I think Hampton at home is making me lean their way.
  10. Typically personnel. 4-3 if you have more DL type and 3-4 if you have more linebackers. I know it sounds simplistic but that’s usually what people base it off of.
  11. We shall see. I heard They played Sullivan east really close yesterday. Could be an exciting season
  12. In the past Jellico has been big and dumpy like can’t move. I’m assuming that’s what they look like now? I know that #8&#9 are supposed to be really good. Haven’t gotten to see them live yet
  13. So Jellico was pretty competitive or just better than what you expected ?
  14. Any news on how the scrimmages went?
  15. Should be much improved. Have about 30 kids which is pretty good for them. Return almost everyone from last year where they had to start 7 freshman and three sophomores. They’re still going to be young but should have a much better season.
  16. Agreed. Haven’t heard or seen much on Cumberland gap recently. Would like some updates later this week if you don’t mind.
  17. Looks like LA just got a big time transfer
  18. Looked like Jellico has some good skill kids and size. Scott looked about like normal they’ll struggle pretty bad in their division.
  19. Unaka lost everyone and that includes their best returner who got hurt this summer in 7 on 7. They’ll be decent up front but have to replace a ton of experience and skill players. Jellico will be alright given they got some help from the Kentucky transfer portal. Cloudland is a question mark. Just have to wait and see with them. I’ve heard numbers are low but they only play 11-12 anyways. hancock is returning this year but I still see them a year or two behind having not playing a normal varsity schedule. cosby has a lot of kids out and some decent skill guys. If they can get any type of OL , QB play they could be alright. North Greene returns everyone and has added some nice pieces. They have a good running back and return their QB top wr, TE and entire OL so maybe they can get it together as well. it feels more wide open than normal but Cloudland is still the king until proven otherwise
  20. I watched them scrimmage Scott Friday and they had at least 20 players. Probably more honestly
  21. Greeneville has a ton of depth offensively and returned almost the whole starting defense. They have to be the favorite in the east right now.
  22. Well they return everyone from last year minus one senior who didn't do anything and they picked up a really athletic kid that didn't play his freshman year. They are getting a really good foreign also. They went 2-1 against UH last year playing "5 versus 1" so I think they will be okay.
  23. Hampton is always a good time especially if you go when the leaves are changing. Great atmosphere and friendly people.
