  1. I agree that was a very odd year. Like stated before that region has now had 2 other coaches place in state when they weren’t ranked in top 4 previously and didnt even get coach of the year in the region. Would have thought an award that goes throughout the whole state would have to go to one of the teams that end up somewhere on top.
  2. This might shock you, but Miller only won by ONE vote against RAVENWOOD for head coach of the year. 3rd in state, or Ravenwood.
  3. Should never be a question that regional wrestler of the year is going to be on the top of the podium. Only ones who showed that were Deselle, Ables, and Willet. Apparently 2 wins and losing to a freshman/ returning regional runner up is enough for that tho.
  4. Clemmons over Ables is interesting. I think Clemmons lost to Fisak twice this year and Ables majored him
  5. I'll check with one of the coaches. And yes Centennial lost to Blackman earlier, but without there full team/ correct weights so i think Centennial wins now. And the thing is, is that somehow out of the random draw, 5 of 7 teams stayed in the same spot. Which is complete BS to say it is random because the likelihood of that happening is the same of it snowing in the Bahamas tomorrow.
  6. Blackman should start thanking whoever did the redraw. Now they walk straight to the semis. Funny how they redraw it Region 7 now gets Wilson Central in the 1st round and Cleveland in the 2nd round. I love that they draw live where people can see so we know its not rigged
  7. And your right, nothing will be 100%. But if you pay attention to each wrestler, and there match ups, and weights you can get a good idea.
  8. Lol I don't think Indy was a surprise. But you cannot actually think that Brentwood and Summit weren't the favored(for no reason). Go look at all of the coaches polls as they are constantly ranked ahead, as that is what I'm relating my statement to. Like I said if you live in Region 7 you should have known what was going to happen. I don't think Indy was a surprise though, they lost to Brentwood earlier because weight classes weren't set and dimelo got upset.
  9. Yea I mean I'm not saying you personally but as to this forum it should be. I had Indy and centennial for a while now because Brentwood doesn't move there weights around and Indy does. But to this forum it should be a surprise, considering opinions of people all season
  10. No, it should be surprising. As they were continually boasted as a top 8 team in the state. Especially by cbg, THE STILLWATER COWBOYS STEED. Please, like anyone on this forum thought Indy was going to beat them. All year it's been BRENTWOOD>SUMMIT>CENT>INDY by everyone.
  11. Just wanted to make sure. I remember you saying specifically that no one would have a chance in the region while the STILLWATER COWBOY was around...then centennial and Indy came around..
  12. I've only remembered people talking up Brentwood and Summit(Not saying you personally). A few mentions of Centennial and none of Indy. At least on CoachT. But if you are a parent/affiliated with this region personally, I think everyone already knew Centennial was going to make some noise. Also think it was fairly safe to say Indy was going to beat Brentwood for those of us that know wrestling and how to move weights around, but yet everyone still remained all on top of Brentoowd
  13. I don't know I'm not even supposed to drive and my mom left me home alone on Christmas
  14. Are you okay CBG? Heard your STILLWATER COWBOY didn't get in to state. Just wanted to check up on you
  15. Statistics always work. It just has to be more consistent. For example, I looked at one match you mentioned, Centennial vs Oakland. 4 varsity wrestlers didn't wrestle Oakland the second time around. A team like that that has 20 kids on there team, it will be a 12 point swing automatically or force you to change weights around at an attempt to win. So it's conditional on the match. That's where you have to investigate and put more time into it if people wanted to poll teams on the "actual" team and the team that wrestled. Especially around this time where kids are always getting the flu and cutting weight for decent plan. Different variable will always occur and have to be taken to account.
  16. Yea believe me I get that. But math is some powerful stuff and I feel like I'm obligated now to show everyone how to add and divide properly.
  17. Yes but a tier list has to be relative to schedule and then head to head has to be applied or evidence from relative matches. It's like there's a pool of teams where they just randomly throw them around in different spots as opposed to using a statistical approach.
  18. Watch out! Even a fake list without Brentwood on here while Centennial, Blackman, and Rossview on here might cause an uproar!
  19. I think the main part is that the coaches aren't putting any actually statistical or analytical thought into it. Regardless of line ups, etc. It should be clear that after the first couple in the list it no longer makes sense. As teams are ahead of teams that have been beaten head on. Multiple cases of it. Clearly not everyone is going to be happy, nor does it matter that much since it doesn't affect who the actual better team is. But why make a poll with flawed logic and placement decisions. It's different comparing college football considering how many teams, leagues, and schedules there are. Most of the "better" teams have already gone against eachother or have given evidence to what SHOULD happen if they meet.
  20. So just so I can understand because I'm new to this. But Summit beats Brentwood 48 to 30, and Brentwood is ranked 11. Now Centennial who has already beaten Oakland, ranked 12, AND beat Summit 54-19 isnt ranked. I mean I'm not a sports analyst but I am a software developer and thats not really how logic works... Just curious who votes for the rankings or how they are made. *Just weird, I have a relative that wrestled D2 and then a younger brother that wrestled in this region. The D2 team is ranked in the top 5 beat summit in a closer match. Makes you wonder if people just brand name teams rather than put statistical thought into polls.
  21. Well luck wasn't the best word but I think he got pinned by him last time. Not meaning it as if Chad is far more superior than Fowler or that hr didnt have a good win over him tje first time. I do think Chad has proven to wrestle better overall this year however. They will most likely wrestle at individuals again so we will see how they finish the tie
  22. Eh. Match was won by against both by a small amount of matches. How crazy the score can change depending on a coin flip. And Fowler is a good wrestler but I think it was clear he got lucky against Chad. Considering Fowler has lost to people such as Henderson that Chad has demolished. And I'm not supporting one team over another. My comments are statistically relavent and rather unbiased. I asked a reasonable question, considering Indys and Centenials match was technically still winnable about to the last 2 matches. I wouldn't consider that dominate by any means.
