  1. Found this online... seems assessment depends on the spot of the foul and because last nights foul was in or beyond the expanded neutral zone it should have been assessed "psk" post scrimmage kick. So Forrest ball 1st and 10 after 15 yrd penalty. Example: Fourth and 10 for team K from its own 20 yardline. While K1’s punt is in flight, R2 blocks K3 below the waist. The foul occurs at team K’s (a) 18, or (b) 23 yardline. R4 makes a fair catch at the 50 yardline. Ruling: R2’s block is illegal and occurred before the kick ended. In (a), because the spot of the foul is behind the expanded neutral zone, PSK does not apply. The penalty is marked off 15 yards from the previous spot. That gives team K a new series at its own 35 yardline. In (b), PSK applies. The penalty is enforced from the end of the kick. It will be team R’s ball, first and 10 at its own 35 yardline. If PSK applies and the kick results in a touchback, team R’s 20 yardline is the basic spot
  2. After what I saw tonight I think Forrest is in trouble... they better be ready. I don’t think they can stop y'all's offense. I’m not sure if they were off when they played us or if we played them better than we played y’all but it was a low scoring defensive game... 13-6. Tonight was an offensive game. Summertown moved the ball tonight. Missed the field goal that shoulda been punched in for a touchdown. Not saying yalls D didn’t stop us... they did several times. I think Waverly - Forrest will be a high scoring offensive game also. One I wanna see anyway.
  3. #13 is mine... thanks for the compliment. Hats off to Waverly Tigers and especially #8. We could not stop him. I think we may have caused a lost yard or two but Every dang time y’all ran it, it was for positive yards or at least even. I was hoping we’d sneak one out... and after the first 4:30 I was smiling pretty big but I think now maybe that yalls defensive coach was just five minutes late. We lost cause we were out played but have you ever seen a football game with just two penalty flags? I mean did the refs leave their flags at home? I saw a few missed calls but in no way am I implying it would have affected the outcome. Just baffled by 48 minutes of ball with only two flags. Good luck to the Tigers and if y’all play Forrest, I’ll be there!
  4. I’m pumped! Ready for a great competitive game! As long as both teams play to their potential then I’ll come home happy!
  5. We played Lewis county on their field for their homecoming and beat them 21 to 14. They can make all the excuses they want, we showed up to play ball that night! We played Loretto the very next week and looked like we did not even know what a football was. One week later we met Forrest and gave them everything they wanted. We held them scoreless in the first half and ultimately lost that game 13 to 6. After forest we lost our next two to an evenly matched Eagleville team and a Lawrenceburg team that has struggled all season. I just hope the boys that played against Lewis County and Forrest are the ones that show up to play Waverly!!! Despite what anyone says, Summertown is a very good team win they are clicking. I have no explanation for their off weeks.
  6. My boy is #13 for Summertown. This is his senior season. I’m a realist so won’t be no big headed trash talking coming from me. I haven’t kept up with Waverly so I’m not sure I have any thoughts on the game. All I can do is comment on our performance this season.
  7. First appearance in 2A. Went once before in 1A. 5th varsity season in this young program. First 2 years were 1A team.
  8. Love should be back... he’s been on the practice field this week.
  9. ... I will sit down and I will shut up but it’s not because I agree with your pompous ####. I’m done wasting my time.
  10. Fact is Summertown held Forrest scoreless in the first half and the game was tied until 4:30 left in the 4th. In the end it was a 7 point game and Summertown gave Forrest all they wanted. Like I said above, that game coulda went either way and Forrest was the team that fortune decided to shine on that night. You said yourself that you kinda lost your breath when that wide open pass was two steps overthrown. Overtime woulda been so much fun to watch.
  11. Word I got was they thought it was just a stomach virus Friday but then went to ER Saturday and had surgery this morning.
  12. Forrest’s #6, Nick McClendon, had appendicitis Friday night and still rushed for over 100 yards between vomiting on the sideline. He was scheduled to have surgery this morning. My Hat is off to this young man and I’m sending get well wishes and prayers his way.
  13. Always easy to say what if... I know there was plenty of what ifs on both sides last night. I wish my guy hadn’t watched that fumble roll outta bounds right at his feet. And I also wish that last pass had sent us to overtime... not that everyone’s heart could take much more. Last nights game could have easily went either way with just a couple plays coming up in the other teams favor. I think maybe Summertown had used up their luck on Richland and Loretto.
  14. Loved Summertown effort!! Oh, what coulda been!!! Great game!!! Good luck to the Rockets the rest of this season!!!
