  1. Halftime: Mt. Juliet 42 Cookeville 0 Blackman @ Mt. Juliet should be a great atmosphere next week.
  2. I would say MJ would be slight underdogs in those games.
  3. I was able to attend this game last night and it was fantastic. I thought BA would win by multiple scores but I don't follow II-AAA very closely.. I know McCallie came in as a highly touted team, but how big of a shocker was that? My sisters husband follows the Eagles closely and wasn't quite as surprised as I was.
  4. Mt. Juliet defeated McGavock 38-2 last night for those that didn't know. I was unable to attend the game so can not provide any more than that.
  5. Yes I was unable to make the playoff game last year but from what I hear that game could have easily gone the other way if not for a bad start from Mt. Juliet. That is not the point though.. Oakland and Blackman are the teams to beat and until the Bears do that they will not be considered elite by many
  6. I don't think so either. I just don't get calling a team that is likely to have back to back undefeated regular seasons "overrated". They aren't the best team in the state and I am not claiming they are but let's give credit where it is due. They are a really good football team.
  7. Halftime. Mt. Juliet leads Rossview 41-3.. But they are going to lose to Hendersonville.
  8. We will see how the two teams play down the stretch, but at the moment, I am not expecting Hendersonville to challenge Mt. Juliet any more than Rossview does this week. I think the Golden Bears beat both by 2-3 scores.
  9. What do you mean by "aren't as good as advertised?" As far as I have seen everyone expects them to go 10-0 and then lose quickly in the playoffs... And there is very little doubt that they will be 10-0.
  10. Mt. Juliet leading Wilson Central 14-0 at halftime. I can’t see the Wildcats scoring unless it comes on defense or special teams.
  11. 43-3 Mt. Juliet nearing the end of the third quarter. Mt. Juliet opened up the offense, showed some shotgun looks and ran away from Gallatin tonight. Other than one bust in coverage early, the MJ defense has smothered Gallatin. Golden Bears looked like a completely different team from a week ago.
  12. Mt. Juliet will bring a lot. Hopefully the weather does hold off. Best of luck to you all tonight, GWave.
  13. Mt. Juliet at Gallatin Hendersonville at Beech Station Camp at Springfield Wilson Central at Overton Lebanon at LaVergne
  14. I don't know how big Hillsboro is, but Mt. Juliet definitely isn't small on the defensive line. They have been far bigger and stronger than everyone they have played thus far.
  15. I met Coach Moore during his time at Cumberland. I was barely a young man but had heard of him while in High School. I never knew him very well, but each encounter I had with him was a pleasant one. I'm sad to see him go.
  16. Knowing what I have heard about TSSAA, it probably depends on who the new school is.
  17. My brother-in-law attends all Brentwood Academy games and was impressed with Hillsboro in that game, their defense in particular. I have not seen them for myself, however, I am beginning to believe that maybe they just overachieved a bit in that game.
  18. I think Blackman wins a really tight football game in this one.
  19. They certainly are not invincible, but I personally think they are invincible in this region. Whether or not they can win in the playoffs remains to be seen.
  20. Was that from the broadcast? Maybe I am getting too old to remember what I heard correctly.
  21. I saw just over 300 rushing, not sure through the air but it wasn't much.
  22. I'll say Hendersonville wins, but close. 27-21.
  23. I think Mt. Juliet wins after a close first half and pulling away a bit in the second half. I'll say 24-7. If not for turnovers and a blocked punt, Mt. Juliet would still not have surrendered a point in the season. There's just no way that I see Gallatin scoring enough to win against the Mt. Juliet defense.
