One thing I’ll say is how impressed I am with the Dresden fan base. I have not been to a game over there in a while and they are a fan base that is absolutely fired up for their team and the whole crowd is in it to win it. Well coached team and some great hard nosed kids out there. Good season UC. Dresden go win it all.

Here you go chief from a previous post. This is my last post for explanations on this subject for the people on the back row. Let’s compare two very like size counties. Weakley and Obion. Weakley county census is 33,036 and Obion is 30,466. Weakley county schools enrollments Westview 566, Dresden 316, Greenfield 171, Gleason 122. = 1167 students. Obion Co enrollments Obion Central 751, UC 356,South Fulton 186= 1293 students. 136 more students in OC with less total population. In Weakley the more populated school is in the city limits of the largest populated town but in OC the more populated school is in Troy not the most populated town. Yes maybe that does not make sense but that is exactly the case. Based on some of the arguments in all these posts maybe Weakley is hiding students. I do not believe that to be the case. Dresden and UC separated by 40 kids

Who cares what the population of halls is or uc is. What’s the population of the school is what the classifications go by.

Does Halls not belong in 1a since they have almost 350 students.

I don’t think anyone in UC is saying this team is dominant. This team will be very good and competitive but that’s the UC way. Last years team was very good. The 21 season we had the makings of a very good team but lost 3 important senior lineman first of the year and starting QB broke his thumb. This team has a good chance to make a long run. Another thing about this season is that this is the group that have been around for four years under Coach Markle so he has his culture embedded in this senior group.

Exactly correct. Dyer co only has about 6k more in total population than Obion Co has. Looking back at the graduation classes here are the numbers. No one at UC is hiding kids in a closet and not counting them. 2021 86 2022 93 2023 84 2024 82 and I would imagine class of 2025 2026 and 2027 are similar in size to 2024. I do think the elementary has grown so we will probably see the numbers go up soon. But it is all cyclical. But they also could go down because the academics at UC is challenging.

One thing different this year is that the psyche of the entire team was really affected when we had a top senior lineman go down with a devastating knee injury in the jamboree. It was not the run of the mill injury and those close to program know the extent. Then in the third game another senior lineman out for season with acl year on top of another dealing with some other health issues that could of turned life threatening. It was a difficult year. Young guys had to step in and perform and they did well. These young guys have developed now even more with a year of being thrown in the fire and also a great off season.

This has been a real fun match up over last two years. Last year comes down to overtime and uc wins. Year before that uc wins on a last second 35 yard field goal. Ripley will bring athletes but UC will be coached up and ready to rock and roll. Discipline wins this next week. Go UC.

It has to do with you saying instant replay doesn’t lie. That’s your subjective opinion when you look at instant replays and make a call. I’m saying 2021 when you do your replays and say you see this or that and I don’t agree with some of your observations from that game so makes me think I may not agree with your subjective opinion from last night. Historical pattern is the apples to apples. I will say I haven’t watched your replay so I may agree with your opinion but based on 2021 I may not

Your instant replay analysis/opinion is not super accurate in my opinion as I watched your telecast last year and disagreed with some of your replay calls. Good thing about opinions is we all can have one.

Thanks That means a lot. Now that was an old fashioned butt whipping. We dominated the line of scrimmage. LC has some great looking kids up front just not as strong as our boys. They have one kid that is probably 6’7” 320 but he stood straight up every play. LC QB throws a great ball just wasn’t able to get much protection to do much with that skill set. LC has a lot to work on. UC came ready to play tonight.
