I have not heard any names. All I know is there have been several applicants. There just aren't many teaching positions open right now.

Waiting to hear what positions will be available. I'm hearing several have applied. This may drag out into the Spring.

Has the search even began? Nothing posted anywhere...

Where do they go from here? What is the future of the program looking like? Any Tellico folks on here or anyone close to the program have any info?

Coach Mullinax has impacted a lot of players, parents and coaches over the years. Most of these men have grown into some excellent role models as a result of his leadership. Congratulations Coach and it has been a joy to admire your success from a distance. I really do hope he is able to read some of these comments. Would be nice to see former players/coaches chime in on this thread!

Crazy day for Monroe County football yesterday. Coach Mullinax is gone from Tellico as well.

Central played well last night. Tough, hard fought game. Well rounded game on both sides of the ball with the exception of a couple untimely turnovers. Looked like a lot to build off of. By my calculations, Central had over 300 yards rushing.

Wanted to go to this game Friday because I knew it would be a good one! I have heard rumors of a lot of bickering going on between coaches and players. Anyone at the game know if this is true?

Anyway, back on topic. Hopefully the offense can build on their second half performance against Loudon. If they can have 6-10 minute drives and keep Bledsoe's pass happy offense on the sidelines, then they have a chance. It's still a tall order because Bledsoe can throw the ball really well. I'm looking for a close, low scoring game because of Central's "ground and pound."

(Bledsoe, Rhea, Cleveland, McMinn) The radio guy on 99.5 said something like "Interesting crowd here tonight for Meigs v. Central, there are alot of Bledsoe and Rhea County tags in the parking lot" lol The RB is an Etowah product unfortunately. Moved to Cleveland Middle School and picked up by Meigs. It is what it is....

I don't know about Greenback, but to be like Meigs, Central coaches would need to start recruiting kids in 7th and 8th grade @ their feeder programs and other feeder programs. I dont see Central coaches doing that. 10 of 22 Meig's starters are not Meig's county products. If Central can keep the Etowah kids from going to McMinn to sit on the bench for 2-3 years then they'll be fine. Those athletes can start day 1 @ CHS. You have a couple kids over at McMinn that would be feature backs (QB/RB) for Central right now. Instead, one of them is riding the bench and the other is playing defense :/

Central had over 200 yards rushing in the 2nd half to Loudon's 9 yards total. They didn't let off the gas, they slammed on the brakes! Fun game to go watch and fun atmosphere. Glad to see some fight out of the boys.

Who gets the win? Should be a competitive game regardless.....

Well, ONE of them did (insert laugh track). Swafford was stopped Friday Night. The only team to stop him this year is 0-6. He was 3 of 10 passing for 41 yards 2tds and an INT???? 2 rushes for 7 yards. Martin Smith is the real deal though!

Yeah, never said it was a bad thing. Teams sometimes have to iron out grudges with each other. It happens. Especially with a group that hasn't grown up playing with each other. They will be better for it in the long run.

Yes, there was a fight between the QB and RB @ the half. I guess stuff like that happens in locker rooms. Unfortunately this was in public lol. I know the people that saw the fight happen. They have no reason to lie and they wouldn't lie about something like that.

If Central can hold on to the football and limit the silly mistakes, they can win this one.
