  1. James Moore is a RB and DE. If he only played defense he would outshine Carrol. Not to take anything away from Carrol, Moore is just that special of a player. James started LB on the 11-1 Spartans team as a freshman.
  2. Who you got in this matchup? Columbia Central has looked good against a lot of teams and showed poorly last week against Page. Stratford is coming off an emotional game against rival East Nashville that was essentially for 2nd place in the region.
  3. #2 James Moore - RB/DE Stratford STEM (Nashville) Check out highlights on Hudl Link or Follow the Spartans on twitter and Instagram @Spartans615 2019 Stats Through 8 Games (6-2 Record - Max Prep Strength of Schedule 6.7) 1631 Total Yards (#1 in AAA ; #1 in all TN Divisions) 23 Total Touchdowns (#2 in AAA ; #3 in all TN Divisions) 20 Rushing TDs (#2 in AAA ; #3 in all TN Divisions) (1 Receiving TD + 2 Defensive TD) Offense 1530 Total Rushing Yards (#1 in AAA ; #3 in all TN Divisions) 204 Carries (#1 in all TN Divisions) (56 carries vs East - Tied State Record) Avg 7.5 yds per carry 191.3 Yard Avg/Gm (#1 in AAA ; #3 in all TN Divisions) Defense 41 tackles 2 sacks 2 Fumble Recovery 2 Def TDs 2018 Stats (14 Games) - All State RB 2273 Rushing yds (#1 in AAA ; #2 in all divisions) 2392 Total Yards (#3 in AAA) 26 Total TDs (#3 in AAA)
  4. Stratford is 2-0 and so is Maplewood and Hillsboro. Congrats to those programs for winning when it matters. Broome and Fitzgerald are like family to us.
  5. Ravenwood runs a lot of RPO outbof Pistol. Not big but fast. QB can throw good short to Med, but long range is okay. They run a finesse game that would get get smashed by a more physical team, in my opinion.
  6. I don’t think you’ve ever met him, because you wouldn’t be calling him that. Mike is a highly capable, passionate leader that has lead Stratford from one of the top 5 most dangerous schools into the mostly highly accredited STEM school in the state. I’ve worked with him the past 5 years, and we are lucky that Cheatham County Schools made the mistake not to hire him as their superintendent. If you are interested in learning more about him check out his book and his bio https://oorahleadership.org/
  7. I don’t want anyone to think that noone supported Coach Cogmon. On the contrary he had our absolute support when he was the HC. He is a great Coach with outstanding football knowledge that loves his players and the team as much as I’ve seen from any coach. He is still family to all of us, coaches, players, and staff. I just want to emphasize that Coach Porter is fully backed by the Spartan Nation.
  8. Without question EVERYONE in the school believes and supports Coach Porter’s leadership and message. We are family here and believe in our young men. We are only concentrating on their success in class and the field. Job titles are irrelevant right now. Performance is everything. We appreciate your support.
  9. I don’t think your view is accurate. Our admin supports us fully and is quite competent. Stratford is a great school with exceptional students, athletes, coaching staff and school staff from the custodian to the principal. You should acknowledge how Stratford has improved over the past 8 years. We appreciate your support of Coach Porter. He can’t have the interim tag removed until after the season and the Hc job is required to be posted for additional candidates per MNPS/TSSAA rules.
  10. I think you mean #2 James “Magic” Moore. Finished regular season 200 carries 1358 13tds 6.8 a carry Gotta give respect to the guys in the trenches, they have been grinding all year. Jalon Gupton #77 Quasean Robinson #50 Dearrius Waller #55 Dwight Menifee Jr #53 Justin Howse #54 Marcelius Matthews #58 Sam Buckner #51
  11. Not to us. We knew what we were capable of and now it’s time to get back to work for another big challenge.
  12. No one outside of the Stratford team and family believed we could win tonight. We knew our guys matched up well, this wasn’t week 7, this was Round 2. Our schedule prepared us for any team, because no one played a tougher schedule than Stratford! The coaches, Spartan Nation, and Dalewood Methodist believe in our young men and most importantly our young men believe in themselves and one another. We appreciate the good sportsmanship and great competition with PC tonight.....to say the least this is a major win for Stratford. Coach Porter and his staff have prepared this team to battle in the playoffs. Tonight is only one game, and we have another challenge in 7 days. To clarify any confusion with the ending of the game tonight, the SRO and metro told us we had to go straight to the bus. The coaches went to mid field to shake hands at the 50, but our players didn’t have an option. Great game Pearl Cohn/MLK players and coaches, we have respect for your program and players.
  13. Stratford had the toughest schedule in 3A for sure, if not top 10 in all classification. It is a result of going 8-4 in 2015 and 11-1 in 2016. Schedules are made two years out, and everyone was scared to schedule Stratford. We lost some great seniors after 2016 (8 signed) and one exceptional player (TJ Carter Memphis DB, AAC freshman of the year) I expect a great game tomorrrow night. CPA (10-0) DII AA #1 Seed Hillsboro (7-3) 5A R6 #1 seed Pearl Cohn (8-2) 3A R5 #1 Seed East Nashville (9-1) 3A R5 #2 Seed Maplewood (9-1) 4A #1 Seed Rossview (6-4) 6A R4 #4 Seed Giles County (1-9)7-3 without DQ Father Ryan (2-8) NW Clarksville Whites Creek
  14. Who you like for Rd2 vs CCCHS/PC winner? Camden or Stratford
