  1. 37-7, Page. Our D is stout, especially the middle. I am surprised by our speed. I knew we held our own but, we may very well be back to the title game.
  2. I'm surprised Tullahoma has had the year they have had. Saying that, it kind of worries me that-that success may give them added confidence. Nolensville has their program running strong now and though I'm glad we have Tullahoma and not them, I'm still leery for tomorrow night. If we are fortunate enough to win tomorrow, Shelbyville is making me weary. I think I would rather us face off against Centennial even though they will be better prepared and ready for revenge. However, I'm just glad we won't have to face Henry County till the next week if they get past Southwind. Seems to me that a lot of these programs are dominant now with yearly runs in the playoffs supporting success. If we do make it all the way back to the championship game this year, I do think we will be the underdog like the last two years. But, it shows how far we have come!
  3. Funny, he gets called out for hating on specific kids and jumping classifications to run from competition so he takes his ball and goes home.
  4. Excellent post. Makes sense and aligns with other posts made for years regarding that region. See the following quoted posts.
  5. Hohenwald Hohenwald Hohenwald Hohenwald However, some programs are just proud to boast a sign as visitors come into the (stadium) displaying 9-2 and 10-1 or even 10-2 regular season records. To them, that’s all that really matters. Hence, Bud Kilmer.
  6. Exactly! This bodes Even for teams with 8-2 and/or 9-1 regular season records such as Hohenwald. Have to wonder if they scheduled better competition during the season if they would be more competitive and maybe win more in the postseason. Of course, it may also impact the season W/L records.
  7. @BIGPURPLEMACHINEtrying to call the kettle black? Thing is, I’ve never negated a kid on here, ever! Evidently, that’s you! Working on that paperwork to move to 4A during the next reclassification?
  8. I know this, we will not be overlooking Friday night! At this point, teams have been known to catch fire so, anything can happen!
  9. Loretto had a good run this year! Just happened to have swapped places with Hohenwald. Yep. Has created many paper champions over the years/decades!
  10. @BIGPURPLEMACHINEis going to start greasing the gears to move up to 4A after Friday night!
  11. They’ve got those basketballs aired up! In the history of all the early round exits for Hohenwald , I don’t think there has ever been a 10-0 or 9-1 Hohenwald to get so thrashed so bad in the very first round! That was just awful; I mean to be 9-1 and not just get beat in the first round but get totally blown out by a multiple loss team!
  12. Well, have to give them credit though. They ran the table not only for the region but were undefeated for the regular season, against everyone. This includes perennial paper champion Hohenwald. So, have to give credit where it is due.
  13. Anyone else have the feeling R5 was designed to be extremely weak? Don’t forget that both Riverside and Chapel Hill used to be in it. Is anyone surprised that those two teams are no longer in it? I mean, no one would have ever expected Loretto to have a breakout year. Had it not been for them, who would have won R5 this year? Now, I’m not advocating a conspiracy here but, had tradition followed, who would have traditionally won R5 in this region in this set up? If Loretto has another banner year next year, who will replace them in R5 when they are moved to R6?
  14. Nah, he practically begs for it. Since he’s been put in his place, he took his ball and went home! Lol
  15. to reclaim their traditional role of early round exits! After breaking the mold last year and making it past the second round, it seems they are BACK to zero or one loss seasons only to be dropped in the early rounds! This year, it happens to be in the first. Unfortunately, because of Loretto being a surprise team, they were not gifted the regional championship. For the entire season, they went 2-2 against teams with winning records for the ENTIRE season (including playoffs). This includes scheduling a two and thirty team from over there in Memphis. Now, this is nothing new and stretches back decades. Going all the way back to 1990, http://www.ahsfhs.org/tennessee/teams/gamesbyyear.asp?Team=Lewis County&Year=1990 when they were in the old AA classification out of A, AA and AAA, they had five AA region games and one AA non-region game. Four out of five of NON region games were against single A teams! Lol lost two of them! Then, was it just a few years ago they barely beat a 5-4 Chapel Hill 7-0 to capture their last paper championship? Then, this year as with most, to be perennially ranked all season in the top 10 of the state week in and week out only to be bounced right out of the gate, like usual! I surmise it is safe to say (in John Wick tone) “yeah”, they are “back”. Over and under of which round next year’s bounce will be?
  16. Loretto has had a banner year. Have to give them a nod!
  17. Patriots 50-7. Running What’s happening in Nolensville game?
  18. Page is up 21-0, though no surprise, Winchester has some talent to work with if those players come back.
  19. If Milan does win, it will not bode well for R5.
  20. Good luck to the Mustangs tomorrow! Incredible year and one to be proud of! R5 champs!
  21. Even though I have not watched either team play, I bet this will be a decent game. I give Milan the slight edge, however. Reason being is that they are more experienced at playing harder teams. @BIGPURPLEMACHINE Looks like y’all will have to wait two full years before you can move up to 4A. But, even then, unless Covid or something similar hits, competition is still going to be rife with challenges. However, enrollment numbers and cutoffs could change by then. Keep your head held high my friend; Milan may one day return to glory once again.
