  1. If those games were played this Friday night, every store, restaurant, online service and T.V. station would be closed!
  2. It must really chap you that your team is ranked way down at seventh this week in little 2A ball while we are ranked higher than you in Big Boy 5A Football. Couple that 2A classification with the full public/private split and maybe, just maybe for y'all, there will be a new Covid variant that will allow for an easy path for y'all to be in the 'ship again. Funny thing is, going back to when you were in 4A, you only beat little ole' Huntingdon, which is 1A, three times over the past decade. Better stay in 2A. Can't get past Huntingdon in 1A nor Alcoa in 3A (if Covington is down and you make it that far) and everyone knows Milan dodges competition by trying to guess which classification is going to be easiest and jump in that one! Since you know you can't do it in 1A with Huntingdon and a few others (enrollment numbers mainly) and, Covington and Alcoa will keep you from winning the championship game in 3A, maybe y'all need to go back up to 4A.
  3. I don't care who says what, this is just funny! Kuddos @Southtowner. Good post!
  4. Is this not the most competitive this region has been in a very long time, if not ever? I did notice that neither Riverside nor Chapel Hill is in it, however. Out of curiosity, I looked up Waverly's schedule the other night going back a little over a decade and you guys have seem to have some success against very good schools. Seems like good playoff runs and, seems like you guys actually played and beat Pulaski when they were on their good runs. Takes experience at that level to do well come playoff time.
  5. I see the good guys from down there in Hohenwald is still ranked in the Top 10. Maybe that momentum will carry them past the second round this year and they get a rematch with Loretto in the third. That would be a game to watch! If so and, if my Patriots are not playing in round three (as is the tradition of late) I may travel to watch that game. It would be a match up of district rivals from the good ole AA days! I'm just wondering however, if Hohenwald will still be around after the round two of the playoffs? They had a heck of a run last year with a new coach that brought in new football and it paid off!
  6. I'm not as proficient as others pertaining to R6 and most of R5 either but, with Huntingdon doing what they have done over there, I would have to give them the nod. Last year was, of course, last year and, Riverside beat them in the playoffs after losing during the regular season so, who knows for sure how that region is going to pan out. R5 seems to still have a couple of games left at the end of the year to decide its placings. I haven't kept up with it for decades as some posters on here have but, I don't know if I ever remember seeing that region stacked with as many good teams as it has this year. Saying that, it may never be this stacked again. I just wonder if R5 will be so beat up come playoff time that the top three teams fold early, regardless of R6 teams? That would be a quantifiable question.
  7. It is totally different. You ran down a single kid and was absolutely called out for it and put in your place. Kuddos for owning up to it but that has no relation to me. I have never singled out a single kid and for you to stretch something into that or equitable to that is not only a misnomer but just plain incorrect. There exists something called the silent majority and you, my friend, are not their leader.
  8. I for one am glad to see them doing so well this year!
  9. Briefly looking at some R5 W/L records, it looks like that region could be up grabs, potentially. Right now, Loretto is the leader but they still have to face Waverly (I think) and MTP. MTP was blown out by Hohenwald but seems to have played very well against all others, so far. Hohenwald still has a couple of tough games at years end so, they could potentially slide into the leader’s position. I doubt anyone would have thought R5 was going to be this formidable at the beginning of the year! Neither Riverside nor Chapel Hill are in it coupled with MTP not being very good as of late and who would have guessed Loretto was going to be on fire this year? Add in Waverly’s season thus far and R5 may be the strongest top to bottom. This all brings me to the question of out of region scheduling. It seems that the region championship for the past several years would come down to Hohenwald beating or losing to a mediocre Riverside team or a 5-5 Chapel Hill or a 1A Columbia Academy team. In years past when Riverside was just mediocre but not in the same region, they would still be on Hohenwald’s schedule. However, I’m willing to bet they will only be playoff foes now. Has anyone else noticed this? I will say this; if Hohenwald wins the region this year, they will dang well have earned it!
  10. My money is it won’t be Loretto. There’s not much playoff data on Loretto, especially second round, but there is on Hohenwald. If I had to choose, who to play for a second round playoff game, I would choose to play Hohenwald. Loretto seems to be tearing it up this year!
  11. I’m guessing you are trying to refer this to me but, as I’ve stated numerous times, never have I ever ran a kid down or been negative towards a kid. After getting called out and blasted in that Loretto thread for doing EXACTLY what you try to initiate that I do, I would have figured you would stop that nonsense by now. It is what it is but it’s not what you try to make it out to be. I will never do that. I think it’s important for teams to improve each week. Makes football even better towards the end of the season. Just seems that some teams are better or more competitive at the beginning of the season. I have seen several times where a team will beat another team towards the beginning of the season only to lose to the same team in the playoffs. Riverside comes to mind. Also, some teams seem to reach a plateau during the season and unfortunately, better teams seems to put them out of the playoffs in the early rounds. However, Hohenwald had a heck of a year last year and made it to the third round.
  12. Oh now, nothing blew up in anyone’s face contrary what you want to state. In fact, it just shows the continual weak scheduling of Hohenwald, which is nothing new. As I stated earlier in the week, I thought it might be a good game due to the close games PURE has played. However, it still doesn’t negate Hohenwald’s scheduling a perineal losing team with one win since its existence. Now, we all know the W/L record of a team can be deceiving. Just because a team may be winless, does not necessarily mean they are a bad team. Just as an undefeated or one loss season record doesn’t necessarily mean a team is great or even good. Playoff records typically demonstrate that. After this beat down Hohenwald gave last night coupled with their beatdown of MTP, boy, it looks as though Loretto is Cookeville bound!
  13. It’s a school over there from Memphis (maybe be private). They are in, like, their third year fielding a football team and, two games of the Covid season. I think they have only won one game in their existence. Probably took the place of Riverside and/or Chapel Hill. I thought this game may have been somewhat different seeing how PURE has faced some larger schools.
  14. Now, I’m sure that, by now, no one thinks I’m a LC fan but, that doesn’t mean there can’t be discussion on this game. Also, it’s been stated so many times about the weak schedule however, that has not been mentioned in this topic of this thread. So, chill out dude. This is not the typical bash thread. This was started to genuinely discuss this game. It very well is an intriguing match up. Though I don’t know anything about PURE, their W/L record may be deceiving. They have played some larger teams but yet, were close in score at the end. That, in itself, could make them formidable against a smaller school like Hohenwald. Amen brother!
  15. I'm sure it must be monotonous playing those weak 1A schools over there in the East so, I guess you have an understanding of what is happening down in Hohenwald. Instead of hijacking this thread to spew personal negativity towards a poster, how about adding substance to this topic If not, why post at all? It is actually a good thread starter. This game may actually be a good game. If they do slip up and beat Hohenwald, looking at who they have played thus far this year, I really do not know if I would call it an upset. With the exception of that Mississippi school and Pearl Cohn, they pretty much have hung in there with those other schools including Cookeville and Haywood, which are much larger schools. That Blackman game looks like it may have been just a weird game.
  16. Just checking up on this week’s action and noticed highly ranked power house Lewis Co takes on what seems like a Memphis school which, has not won a game. However, their scores show close games (within seven points I think) with the exception Pearl Cohn and maybe one other team. All jokes aside, this team, though only in existence for a few years, has played some quality opponents. Though winless, they very well could slip in and beat Hohenwald. I don’t know much about PURE and only about Hohenwald’s tradition, but this game might actually be a good one! I imagine PURE has speed. I doubt any of their fans are posters on here but does anyone know anything about them?
  17. Any discussion on who this/that is going to be with the remaining schedule(s)? Anyone think it could cone down to the coin toss?
  18. I want the discussion @Southtowner!! You know, what everyone thinks and who they think should come in what place. That’s why they call these message boards for us to discuss T$$AA football which is the same as discussion boards. Now, to be fair, that could include discussion of T$$AA rules but that’s not in the original post.
  19. So are regular season paper championships! Lol
  20. Looks like Loretto is legit and with Hohenwald blasting MTP, they may very well be legit as well. Also, looks MTP bounced back just fine last night. Question I have is, what if MTP puts it together at end of the season and beats Loretto? That would give that region three one loss teams. Lets face it, Hohenwald’s schedule will not allow for quality opponents so, we know they will win out. However, other than MTP, Loretto doesn’t seem to have much competition, either. How is 1st through third settled if those three teams only have one loss and, that’s to each other? Now, I honestly want to say if T$$AA gets involved then Hohenwald would naturally get the edge for first in region. But, times may have changed.
  21. Told everyone reading and keeping up with this topic and following me, that Loretto is BACK! After that beat down of one time undefeated Hickman Co. and, what must have been just an absolute and unequivocal shellacking of undefeated and highly rated MTP by Hohenwald, Loretto is most definitely BACK! Third round playoff rematch between Loretto and Hohenwald is going to be fire! May even be the defacto state championship game!
  22. Look, I don’t mind the hard time, at all. It’s the over the top stuff you guys have been doing and saying. I don’t talk about the kids so, don’t be stretching it into what it’s not.
