Please tell me you aren't poking out your chest on this one.

No, I didn’t attend because I figured there was a 50/50 chance Tullahoma’s offense would repeat the Shelbyville performance and I just couldn’t stomach another night like that.  I just find it funny that folks thought all 4 teams from region 6 was that much better than region 5 and only gave Shelbyville a mediocre chance of winning their game.

  2. Congratulations to the Eagles, lots of team speed, really misjudge them based on the points against common opponents.  The Eagles outplayed Tullahoma!  I thought both coach’s made terrible decisions throughout the game, oh well.  Shout out to Liam for keeping Tullahoma in the game with 2 touchdowns on the night!  Good luck to both teams in the playoffs.

  3. I think the difference will be the defense, against 6 common opponents, Shelbyville has given up 115 pts while Tullahoma has given up 58 pts.  I know that Shelbyville’s offense scores more points than Tullahoma;; however, since Tullahoma made the change at running back, its offense has been more balanced and has been scoring more points.  I also believe Tullahoma has the advantage on special teams; therefore, I believe Tullahoma wins by 9.

This argument gets old. The coaches KNOW the strengths. ONE MAJOR strength not utilized last Friday was SPEED. Tullahoma was SO MUCH faster than LC. Run your sweeps, screens with a trips set, and counters. Put the ball in the hands of the playmakers. Why do we not run more misdirection and play action? Play action is way more effective under center, but that's for another discussion. They just continue to gameplan like they had last year's team. Knowing what to do and refusing to do it is on them. You'll probably think I'm bragging but I think my critique is credible. I played and coached on the high school level with several region titles, and I have a ring to my credit just like Coach Olive. I try to get on here and actually give my reasoning behind what I see from the stands instead of just blasting things on here just to let out frustrations. I try to create banter because I like to see what other's opinions are. The ones that just yell that we need a new quarterback or whatever without an explanation are ignored by me as well.

I do agree with you on the support of the Tullahoma community. I've been to games this year. I've seen the stadium half full. That's on other folks. Not on me. I've not once said anything about the quarterback. You need to reply to the person that posted it. As far as the excuse of not having a good team despite coaching "tails off", no one in their right mind expected a state title run. THIS team should have won 6 games easily due to decent talent returning and terrible competition in the region. They should have been a playoff team with a first round exit at worst. There is still an outside shot of getting in and exceeding expectations which I hope they do.

Also the silly point that actually weakens your argument is the kids don't look stronger as the year goes on due to not being interested or working hard in the weight room. THAT'S COACHING. You make the players workout in the weight room in front of you. A coach should be at the 3 major stations making sure reps are put in. If this isn't the case, it's just laziness. I hope the team rises to the occasion and finishes strong.

I'll stop my critiquing for the year and turn it over to some on here that are apparently more knowledgable than me. I wanted to see what all the hype was about this Franklin kid for Cornersville High so I'm going out to see how he fairs against Moore County.

I said from the beginning that 5 wins would be a successful season, I wasn’t counting on Shelbyville being so weak, so 6 wins could have been a achieved.  It has been very disappointing that the offensive play caller did not adjust throughout the year to play into these player’s strengths.  The offensive game plan and play calling is the problem….the defense has played pretty well!!!

  5. These 2 teams are hunting for the final playoff spot along with Greenbrier.  The loser of this game will basically be eliminated from the playoffs, no pressure.  LC always seams to play Tullahoma tuff.  It appears Tullahoma has found some chemistry, so I believe Tullahoma wins a very physical  game 23-13.

    Any other thoughts?

  6. Tullahoma looked pretty solid Friday night against Hillwood, new QB played well. I was a little shocked #8 wasn’t in the game at some position, imo, he needs to be playing somewhere. Both. offense and defense played well even without one of their linebackers.  Looks like Tullahoma needs to win out to make playoffs, with only top 4 making it out of  9.  Looking at remaining schedule even if Tullahoma wins out might need some help.

    Well...this is awkward

Wow, I didn’t really have an opinion about this, other than I did not expect to see MC shut them out.  I do know LC always plays TTown very competitively so I would expected this to be closer.  This should set up the MC/PC game as the decider for this region.

Coach Sisk  mentioned last week, that  Jaxon Sheffield, and Tomlin were injured and missed the Pearl-Cohn game last week, and Mason Miller has been out with injuries. I don't know if those players will be back this week or not.

If they are out, that’s going to hurt!! Mason Has been out since CC game.

Hillwood beat Montgomery Central, they play Creek Wood later in the year.  Coach Sisk  said on his coaches show last Saturday, he mentioned  that the players returned to practice on Monday. I don't know if that is all 10 or not.

    Makes more since now, thanks.

If the 10 is everyone, I think Tullahoma wins by a couple of scores, if not, it could be much closer.

County talk and city trash talk is twooooo different things lol

    True!

So paper said 10 players would be back, is that everyone?

How did Hillwood beat CreekWood?  No disrespect CW has pretty big kids and based on last year HWs kids were small.

I've been watching Tullahoma FB for roughly 45+ years, played there and had kids play there.  The head coach they had didn't allow the things that are happening now.  He made sure the assistant coaches did their job.  He is gone now and not involved in the daily running of the program.  No one on staff has ever been a head coach.  Maybe the coaches are too buddy buddy with the players and can't make them do their job.  Respect.  It is amuck or this wouldn't happen in the locker room.  This team has had more work then most teams coming into a season after a good year. Full JV season and 15 games on the Varsity practicing.   The coaches need to be coaching them up at every position.  With this they would cut out the mental mistakes.  They can't even line up.  That is a fundamental part of FB from the first day of Pop warner fb.  Where were the videos, pics and harassment of young freshmen when Coach Olive was in charge?

I am not condoning the events that took place, it’s really a sad event, but if coaches were assigned to watching the locker room last year, why wouldn’t those same coaches keep doing that job this year? These are the same coaches that were there last year, the philosophy about watching the locker room didn’t change overnigh.Poor behavior, such as hazing,  has been happening at some level for years in the locker rooms everywhere…just like the current condition of the US, it didn’t happen overnight!!!!!

    Wildcats should win Friday Night!

I have been watching Tullahoma football pretty consistently for the past 10 years, this class has a couple of good players, but so did the two 0-10 teams.  This team is not nearly as talented as last years team,  just stating a fact.  And coaches cannot make something that isn’t there, As with any team it’s debatable if one kid would better in this spot versus that spot.  I don’t care how much playing time they get, point being that last year in the second half of games was pathetic, hand off 3 times and punt, possible fumble the ball. I knew right then this was going to be a rough year.  Take the 2 running backs and 1 wide receiver  off the field and these kids accounted for zero points last year.  I have said all along it they win 5 games I would consider it a successful season.  They have a lot of work to do in the remaining 5 games to get to that mark….these are the same coaches from last year so go figure, the mess in the locker room isn’t new, maybe a different flavor, but the coaches did not all of a sudden consciously say they were going to let the kids run amuck.  Come-On Man Seriously…

I want to add that I see some speed on the team and that with 107 kids playing the future appears bright, but only time will tell.  One thing that made last years team so dominant was the offensive and defensive lines.  So the rebuild starts there!

I do wish the team and coaches all the best and look forward to seeing them excel!
