  1. Warren Co is currently 9-1 in camps from MTSU and Lebanon so far. They have beaten Pickett Co, Farragut, Rockvale, Page, Beech, Westmoreland, Forrest, Greeneville, and Summitt. Their only loss was to Blackman 42-41 at MTSU. They play at Lady Vols team camp in Knoxville then 4 days at MTSU to finish Summer ball.
  2. First of all, Congrats on a great year for WC 24-8, I'll take it. The quote above cracks me up. Last year it was they played a cupcake schedule for wins and went 12-14. This year you say the top teams we played were just those three (and I agree, exposing us-they were more disciplined, way more height, and executed better), BUT now we play a more competitive schedule-and we are still terrible in 79champs eyes. Lets look at the the schedule: Central Magnet-currently 24-5 district champs, region and substate bound Whitwell- currently 24-8 district champs, region and substate bound Notre Dame- 24-11 DII champs, semifinals Tullahoma- 16-11 R4AAA quarterfinalists White Co- 23-8 Regional quarterfinalists Franklin- 17-13 R6AAAA Quarterfinalists Lawrence Co- 15-12 R4AAA Quarterfinalists, runner up D8AAA York- currently 23-5 D5AA champs, region and substate bound Coffee Co- 29-4 D6AAAA champs, regional semis Cleveland 23-9 R3AAAA quarterfinalists, 10-2 in district (both losses by Bradley) Bradley currently 29-3 D5AAAA champs, regional and substate bound We went 11-7 versus this schedule and 10-0 versus Franklin Co, Shelbyville, Lavergne and siegel like good teams are supposed to. So what's your point? Every team schedules easy games because the boys want to play a hard team-it happens plus you need a gimme in there-ask Dodgen, Joe Pat, etc. But for you to talk out both sides of your mouth, congratulating one minute and criticizing the next is just plain stupid! They hosted a Regional game, first time in 10 years; they won the first Regional game EVER since it became 5 on 5!!!!! 1979!! Am I disappointed that we lost that way? Yes. Could we have played better?Yes. These other teams have been here and are used to this pressure-when has Warren Co? This is a big learning curve for these girls. The teams that we went 1-7 against in your post had three things: height, experience in big games, consistency in winning. WC has not seen those things in years, they are trying to start a winning culture and these girls can do that, setting a foundation for it. Some people like you 79champs, talk a great game (on a keyboard), but can't follow it up. Get your facts straight before you get on here. Peace out!
  3. Upperman. Book it!! Crouch, Hurst, Brooks, Levy, Johnson-name a better starting five
  4. Richard Melton is Executive principal and Coach Riddle is an Assistant principal
  5. Cookeville is a beast, they return a lot of experience and talent from last years state tourney team.
  6. No Holman or Pitinger (two starters from last year) didn't play and another varsity out of town. So younger ones played, camps ain't about winning-development and game experience. FYI
  7. Regional tournaments have refs from different areas, switch them up. Only time you might know them is when you played non-district games, etc.
  8. I think so. They have played a tough schedule and have depth. I feel their length may get the best of WC tonight.
  9. Stone Memorial has played a tough schedule so far. They will be battle tested come tournament time!!
  10. True, talent and that "want" to get better during off season. The county is 50 years behind everyone else. It's the mentality of parents and kids alike there. There are some good kids there, but they stay the same through the years. You have to experience WC to understand WC. Outsiders have no clue. It's about the time and effort these girls put in, I know all the other teams have girls playing constantly in AAU (TN Rush, Flight) and working with individual trainers, so yes, even the most average player will be better than a "seasonal" player, who works only during the season.
  11. Erick Baird. Finished 2nd against White Co in district championship, hosted a region game at WC for first time in 35+ years. 2010-11 season I think. I think she can be a good coach, but she needs "basketball" assistant coaches to help her game plan and help teach defense. One person cannot do it alone in AAA basketball.
  12. Stone has played quality teams (Riverdale, Bradley Central, etc), potential regional and sub state opponents-they now know what they're dealing with come tournament time. Buck knows what he's doing .Big surprise was Rhea Co beating East Hamilton-big win for Gill!!
  13. This is Macon County's to lose, Upperman will be young but WAY talented plus Coaching. The rest are battling it out to finish. Lookout for Cannon County to make a run though.
  14. 1. Coffee County 2. Franklin County 3. Tullahoma 4. Shelbyville 5. Lincoln County 6. Lawrence County 7. Columbia
  15. 1. Stone Memorial- talent plus Coach Buck 2. White County- young talent, high energy with Coach Dodgen 2a. Rhea County- Hampton will have to carry team, will miss some seniors from last year 2b. Cookeville- good returning talent, but still ???? about the coaching 3. Warren County- Return 4 starters, with Wright in post, this should be one of the better years for WC.
  16. 1. Stone Memorial-stacked with talent, hustle non-stop 1a. White County-stacked with talent and good coaching 2. Cookeville- always a threat 3. Rhea County- ?? has pieces to compete. but not sure if they make it fit 4. Warren County- lost four senior starters, not much bench from last year-inexperienced
