  1. well. you nailed that one. Looks like its Layne Bussell, head coach at Algood Middle School
  2. Will they just go across the river and get Bibb?
  3. Unless TSSAA does something drastic in the classification and where prep schools can play, its Chatt Prep.
  4. so question. if a kid starts his first 2 years at a school. then wants to play in the next school over. will there have to be a move to go to that school or can he just go to that school? who approves the transfer? with chatt prep and these other charter schools it seems there doesn't have to be a move or anything. just make the transfer. or does tssaa have to approve that transfer as well?
  5. Sad that all of us on here have figured out all that is going on at Chatt Prep. I get that they may be playing by the “rules”, but sad that so many kids across the state had their seasons end because of these situations. I’m guessing the TSSAA won’t do anything about it, until it starts messing with the big schools
  6. yeah its a charter school. there has been other discussion in another thread. basically the school started. they hired a "basketball trainer" to be the head coach and his twin to be the assistant. their first year of high school ball they made substate with 8th and 9th graders. they lost. now they are in the state tournament the past two years. the "basketball trainer" started the year, but a quick google search of his name will let you figure out why he aint the coach anymore. now his twin brother is the coach. so yeah. they can basically recruit all over the metro area and form their all star team with public education money.
  7. Same thing. Basically a team put together and in their third year of existence but first in high school they make substate. And then 2 straight state tournaments. Just out of nowhere here they are.
  8. so yeah. so the one twin who used to be the head coach was a basketball trainer. doing a quick google search, ( I think there is some "reasons" he is no longer the coach. so brother steps in and becomes the coach. I agree that charter schools need to be moved to d-2. look at the charter schools a few years ago in Memphis. the one that lost to clay in the championship game just up and closed. and then another one will pop up. not saying they don't do good things for the kids in the community. but when you have open zones and can pick and choose who gets in, its interesting.
  9. Pickett County, Jackson county and Shelbyville all have done a 4 peat.
  10. That may have to do with the connection rule. One of the rules in that ruling is that you can’t be connected to a personal trainer. Interesting.
  11. So I was kinda wrong. One collins is the coach. Twin brother runs a basketball training company.
  12. I wonder how many of those chatt prep kids have the coach as a trainer for ckc elite?
  13. Congrats to my Alma Mater. Moved away when I graduated. But proud of them for bringing home the gold ball for the first time ever. Great job guys.
