Everyone should get off the "everybody gets a trophy" and little Johnny arguments. This is not true. There are no participation awards given out at any wrestling tournament I've seen, just alot of heartbreak for guys that sacrifice but don't medal. There are lots of good wrestlers that don't get an award at the State Championship. Every single State Champion is deserving of that title. This isn't the 5th grade coed sack race. Each and every State Champion is a bad dude. When they are talking about it with pride years later, I'm sure they could care less how it's done in New Jersey or California. In my book, there isn't a more prestigious State Champion than a wrestling State Champion regardless of what division they won it in.

I am so frustrated. I have to constantly refresh. There is no flow to the matches. I have watched more of the buffer signal than actual wrestling. Worst part of it is that I’ve been doing this for 3 years. It hasn’t changed and I continue to pay for this garbage. Either they have to do better or I have to be wiser.

There will be plenty of tournaments cancelled during the season due to spectator and team limitations but no reason to end season. State tournament cut in half, limited attendance, mostly duals and tri meets until the regions. Absolutely no reason this won’t work.

The CHS high school principal has a son that plays on the basketball team. That being said, I don’t want them shut down either. They deserve to compete just like the wrestlers do. The head scratcher for me is there are more people at the Cracker Barrel on a Saturday than would be at the tournament. The CHS staff had it broken up into 4 locations around the school allowing plenty of social distancing. Very disappointing.

They wrestled very early in season. Davis won hard fought decision.

Cleveland was the much better team. Gomez loss was a tough one and Cleveland coaches moving Boyd to 195 was smart. I was way off in Davis-Boyce. Davis Is better. Looking forward to the match ups today.

I think Blackman has something for Cleveland. If they are hungry, they might take it. This is going to be an awesome match. 106-Close (Myers -Ellison) Could go either way. If Myers got this one it would be big. 113-Blackman (Bradford over Laxton) Possible pin here. 120-Close (Rose - Bradford) Rose has ton of experience and Bradford has been hurt. Watched him once since he returned from injury and he didn’t look as sharp. 126-Cleveland (McDaniel) Blackman can roll one out here. Trae is a beast. 132-Blackman (Sells) Blackman needs bonus here. Randall can keep it close. 138-Blackman (Brown) Meagher looks a little banged up. 145-Cleveland (Stevenson) Pin here. 152-Cleveland (Laxton) Pin here. 160-Cleveland (Schilling) Pin here. 170-Close (Brezna-Gomez) Tight, tough battle. Seen both lately, Gomez is a fire ball. 182-Blackman (Sacharczyk)) Boyd is tough and may keep it close. Any mistake by Boyd and Blackman could bonus. 195-Close but lean Blackman (Harris - Hughes) Harris will wrestle tough but experience takes this one. If Blackman could sneak a bonus in, look out. 220-Best matchup (I think Boyce over Davis) I have watched both recently and Boyce looks better. HWT-Toss up. Not sure what Blackman does here but they have options. Blackman should be able to counter with even to favorable match up. Blackman is versatile and can move some guys around.

I love it. Too bad it’s not a reality. This is the way it should be.

There are two sides to this coin. Yes, Cleveland has an attitude and well deserved. Despite some advantages here and there they have worked hard and are winning. With that attitude is a target. Things that happen in every match might be ignored but because it’s a Cleveland wrestler it gets called. I personally have never seen a Cleveland wrestler be anything but sportsmanlike until I saw the Jones match. Completely unacceptable behavior but in a tough fight your heart out sport, I don’t think this incident is a reflection of Cleveland’s program.

Wrestlers, parents and fans deserve better venue. Look and sound is bad. Too many empty seats.

Happen”s too much unfortunately. Been on the wrong end of these too many times. There is a “by the book”decision here that really affects matches. Sometimes a wrestlers strengths aren’t by the book.

Lost last week to Gibson, comes back and wrestles much better match. Just too much - Coffey by pin Oh boy. Jadon has as many genes as Kramer. Howard, Lionel, Quantel, Caleb. Sophmore but hungry. Watching the match live I thought Laxton dominated Hernandez. At that weight Laxton has a good shot.

Paid $30 bucks to see the Region 4 duals. Soddy doesn't show up, Walker wrestles Bradley. Then Bradley forfeits to Cleveland. One bad match and the duals are set. If you can wrestle you should wrestle. There is no way it is acceptable to walk away from a match. Anybody, Anytime, Anywhere.
