Charter schools and Open zoning is supposed to improve education for all the kids in the state but coaches for sports teams use it to recruit athletes and load up teams. TSSAA needs to move some to Division II and limit the amount of kids eligible in open zones.

1995 Clarkrange was the best team I ever saw in single A -
It still blows my mind that Cumberland Co was the only team to beat them this year and one loss was a blowout.

York got 3 happy and lost. a Darkhorse next year could be Smith Co. maybe not to win it all but to upset some teams. First time nerves got them this year.

You forgot Macon and York also. heard it all from that bunch “You just got lucky we were the better team, or the refs screwed us” then when they win it’s “you were out coached, or we won in spite of the refs” and never point out that Putnam has school choice and they have 6000 kids to pick from then it is “build it and they will come” or win with what you have and do not worry what we do”

The rest of the Upper Cumberland celebrating tonight for sure. LA got silver last year never made it out of the Region this year. Nothing is guaranteed next year.

Same reason they don’t play in Football it’s a recruiting opportunity for one school and a no win scenario for Cookeville.

If I remember correctly in 2020 you said Putnam Academy was better and would beat Macon. How about some respect for a team who has struggled with talent loss because they don’t have 5-6,000 kids to pick from? Yes they are in a lesser region but still they have tradition and coaching experience to see them though. If they win tonight they host a team in the sub state and it’s not some easy task to win at Nera White.
