  1. Pros and Cons about Central?? Seem to have some talent down in the McMinn area... Boys Basketball is always represented nicely it seems. Does the school want football to be special? Do they go the route that every mediocre program does and hire within??? Not saying it’s a bad choice all the time. However, lots of programs are doing this now. The fact of getting a 1st year guy is a good thought if that guy brings all the intangibles to the table. However, admin, and school board have to give that person a chance. Outsiders view, I think this can be a solid job with the right candidate moving forward.
  2. Coach Ryan Sulkowski resigned Tuesday morning to take a Head Football job @Hunt High School in NC. Stating he wanted to be near family. Nothing but the best for him and his journey. Now moving on! Coach, Seemed to have a solid resume coming in, however, end up 11-41over a 5 year span. I believe, with coaching A.Taylor who “Plays for UT”. But, we all know what District Coffee plays in, definitely a tough one! Thoughts on how this job can be moving forward? Seems like Warren County hired themselves a (safe hire) from within. Does Coffee do the same?
  3. I hate that for Collierville. Those top notch facilities and school system seem to have it moving in the right direction. When people at the top understand that football drives your school system as a whole, then you will see progress. It sets the tone for the whole school year. Like I stated before, I hope nothing but, the best for the new coach, staff, and athletes they deserve the support and time to see what the future holds!
  4. Research guy, love it! Lets look at this geographically, WB and Heritage are surrounded by Alcoa/ Maryville/ Greenback........ You fill in the blank Blount County has a population of 123,010 in 2018-19..... Roughly 59,500 are Male Roughly 14,000 are under18 Enrollment totals Alcoa-661 (+200 students since 16) Heritage- 1,406 (-200 since 16) Maryville- 1,635 (+315 since 16) William Blount- 1,641 ( -184 since 16) Wins come from different Catagoizes, 1: Community Support (Heritage and WB) from Research were develop from smaller HS. “Townson/ Everrtt/ Friendsville/ Lanier” Hints this are all Communities in Blount County area. 2: School Board ( The county keeps cutting the budget for New Schools) “Maryville and Alcoa keep on approving there upgrades” 3: Athletic Minded Administers 4: Money (it cost money to run a successful program) 5: Athletes in the building. People always say there are kids walking the halls in every HS... .. However, when enrollment numbers are going down for the county schools and cities schools are going up... it’s time to check the top 2 reasons. This is way Heritage and WB have struggled and will unless the County makes moves. GreenBack is growing due to the growth of the West part of the county because the mountains are the other way! Greenback is in the best situation in Loudon County due to the grow on the Westside!
  5. Who else is Outsiders? Wes Jones eliminated? Keeping in house seemed like the right answer. However, does not seem like that guy is in the room or applied, if it is taking this long.
  6. Who is Justin Anderson? Does that New School “Lakeway Christian” steal some athletes away away? Tough road for the Hurricanes. However, may want to take a shot on a young upcoming coach to get some excitement like that basketball program.
  7. This is the hire the Dragons make? Last 5 seasons 2018: (3-8) 2017: (5-8) 2016: (7-5) 2015: (9-4) 2014 (4-7) I know the New Coach is a Graduate of Collierville. I am sure this will help generate some excitement. However, the wins have fallen over time. White Stafion is known for athletes. Plus always going to the playoffs because of only 4 teams in the region. I know Collierville has some athletes as well. But, I would think White Station has more. Not stating if the coach is bad or good. Just strictly looking at Wins and Losses. Hope nothing but the best to the Dragons going forward.
  8. I believe this can be a "GREAT JOB". Obviously it seems that the committee is taking their time to find the "GREAT" Hire. Which is fine to do. Collierville is in a tough Region. However, with those Facilities and New School. No reason this can not be a top tier job in that Region. Best of luck to the Dragons. Beautiful Campus and area.
  9. East Hickman does need to make sure they get the right guy! Kids walking the halls is everywhere. It starts with "CULTURE" can the right guy come in and change that, as soon as he steps on campus. It takes everyone on the same page from Superintendent on down. Losses will translate to margin of losses, Then win a game your not suppose to. That's how it will change. Kids will come out if the culture is right. Seems like this hire of the football coach can be pivotel. Football is the start of the year. Good Season = Even BETTER SCHOOL YEAR. This is a fact.
  10. Why???? This has nothing to do with the post above! Besides tearing down a program and community. Trying to keep these boards for Intelligent conversation ONLY!!!
  11. It looked like the previous coached had a good resume from being a Head Coach of Campbell County and spending time at the collegiate level. Why did this not Translate to the Boys on the East Side. From the outside looking in, I would like to assume this can be a solid job. Last 5 seasons. 2018: (2-8) 2017: ( 4-7) 1st Round Playoffs 2016: (6-5) 1st Round Playoffs 2015: (3-7) 2014: (6-5) 1st Round Playoffs Thoughts on what needs to happen moving forward???

  16. Texas Football is Bigger NO QUESTION about that. 1) Population (6 Cities in top 25) 2) Oil Money 3) Expectations ( Winning State Titles) "more parody" 4) Coaching/ Teacher salary (Starting Pay $49,750) " Not including Head Coaching Supplements" HInts why Texas is Bigger. Also they have over 1,200 school districts which is the most in the Nation. Look at Population #s alone 6 total cities in the US are more populated Than TN #4 Houston #9 Dallas #7 San Antonio#11 Austin# 16 Fort Worth #20 EL Paso #24 Memphis/ #25 Nashville
  17. ???????? Did not bring up Middle. Talking Cleveland vs. Rutherford County.
  18. Cleveland is a City Job..... Makes it better than a RuCo Job by pay alone. Not saying athletes are similar by all means. Everything around Cleveland is better. Top Jobs in East Tn (not in order) D.B/ Science Hill/ Oak Ridge/ Greeneville/ Maryville/ Alcoa/ Cleveland/ Private Schools "others are possible" depending on your teaching experience. RuCo has to deal with all schools. Cleveland deals with two Walker Valley and Bradley. Only reason why Bradley has been on the climb is because Cleveland has taken steps back. However, everything comes back around. Cleveland Facilities are Top Notch in East. (This is why TEAMS traveling in the playoff from East to Middle, hate doing it because of field conditions. Only 1(ONE) facility can relate to those programs that Oaklands Indoor. Other than that nothing else compares. Yes, you do play in a tough Region and go through Ooltewah, Bradley, and Maryville. Cleveland is a terrific place to live and raise a family. Which makes it a top job on the East Side!
  19. No idea who the guy is. That's why I said if he is in the room the people in charge will know. Typically all big programs hire from within. Easy for HR/ Admin/ and District. Hints why tons of programs do this. Make the process easy! Which this is what its about Easier the better!
  20. Tennessee Football........ Pros Top Tier teams can COMPETE with others across the south region. Great Coaches across the State. High talent level all over West/ Middle/ East TN (in this order) Small communities that CARE about their School/ Community! Great Area to live, coach, and rise a family (have all 4 seasons) Cons Pay Scale low (Except private/city schools) Expectations are very low in most county's Hearing Processes (to much of what have you done or who you know) "Take Chances on 1st year Guys" Water down (Playoffs and Districts) Not enough funding for Football to be a priority at most places TSSAA whole system with other sports makes no sense Programs that should be top tiers are Mediocrity (Year in Year Out) Tons of Pros and Cons to add. However, other states in the south (Georgia) do things right. School Systems care about sports. Because we can all agree on, football drives a program. It can be good or bad! Depending on who is in the leadership roles.
  21. Its more than Talent to be constant in winning. Yes, Jimmys and Joes win ball games. However, how is the community support, how is the Admin, what about the Facilities? Are these in line to create a winning culture! These things all need to be on the same page in order to be competitive at any program. The top schools in the state constantly have all 3 of these in order to be the best. Are there other factors, absolutely. How does Warren County compare to the other teams in there district and surrounding schools? What makes kids come out and be a part of something if it's just mediocrity? New Coach can change some things, but not all!
  22. I would say Greeneville hires with in. They need to look down the road at what Maryville did, Hired Coach Hunt who has been in the system for years. Once you go outside things can go wrong in a hurry. I am sure big name candidates have applied and want the job however, keep in house if you know the right guy is in the room who can keep the program at the Highest level possible. Greeneville is a Special Place. Keep it that way.
  23. I think East Robertson New Coach needs to be someone who will elevate the program as soon as the walk on. This can be a solid job for a coach who is wanting to spread the ball out and make some noise in district. The Indians do play in a tough district with solid opponents. Gonna be tough to change over night, but with the right candidate at the helm. Could be a good one for the Indians.
  24. From an outsider's perspective, it looks like they will hire within the program. Hopefully Tellico can get things turned around and move forward. Thought bringing in a young molded mind would help generate some positivity and excitement down in Bear Country!
