  1. Same with Braman Vs Bonds....great rivalry between the two this season! Great match.
  2. Poorly executed...as always. An opportunity for someone to deliver a better product and service.
  3. Thanks.....correction....but did take him to the wire. I did not see the end of the match due to the poor streaming, but how is the Ultimate Tie Breaker determined? And what happened in this match if anyone recalls. Durdon? Were you in attendance? Thanks, Bowers Vs Cagle is the best match I have seen so far! Great match and congrats to both.
  4. Impressed with Christian Howard-MUS (160) today with an overtime with Gagle, win in Cons Semis.
  5. Hoping this link works for the regionals: https://www.nfhsnetwork.com/events/knoxville-catholic-high-school-knoxville-tn/gam881f34b573#
  6. Will this event be streamed? Have tried to find a venue through NFHS, Knox Catholic website, other attending schools but have not been successful....If not, could someone in attendance that sees this please post major outcomes, upsets, updates as appropriate, etc....would be greatly appreciated! OR, if there is a streaming of this event please inform. Many thanks,
  7. Great match between Dendy and Taylor tonight! Dendy came out on top- fun to watch. Two State Champs and Great wrestlers. They wrestled at 152lb
  8. Well done...good debate topic!
  9. Agree- no team in todays wrestling environment will come close to the Red Bank 1960's dominance (just going on what is reported hear as I have not knowledge)- I find it interesting how cyclical the power in D2 changes hands. Currently with Baylor, has been with Father Ryan, McCallie, Christian Brothers...now MBA and Brentwood Academy is starting to make a statement...fun to watch.
  10. Now that is in depth research!! 315 points looks untouchable today- Impressive! Thanks,
  11. Since the Father Ryan teams of the mid teams were referenced...you actually can go through track and look this up, I like research so I did. I do not think anyone can deny this was a dominant performance by Baylor & Baylor broke the tie with the win and has won 16 Traditional State Championships to Father Ryan's 15 (both very impressive). Baylor 2020: Score: 248.5 Champions: 6/ Runner up: 2/ 3rd: 4/ 4th: 1 (total medalists: 13- lowest being 1 4th) This team is on par with the best Father Ryan teams of the mid teens with the best being in 2015 and their team score was 0.5 better than this years Baylor team! Father Ryan 2014: Score: 233.0/ Champions: 3/ Runner up: 5/ 3rd: 3/ 4th: 2 (total medalists: 13) Father Ryan 2015: Score: 249.0/ Champions: 7/ Runner up: 2/ 3rd: 2/ 5th: 2/ 6th: 1 (total medalists: 14)* This team placed all 14, but 2 in 5th and 1 in 6th Father Ryan 2016: Score: 247.0/ Champions: 7/ Runner up: 2/ 3rd: 1/ 4th: 1/ 5th: 2/ 6th:1 (total medalists: 13) Father Ryan 2017: Score: 239.5/ Champions: 5/ Runner up: 3/ 3rd: 1/ 4th: 4 (total medalists: 13) Great teams across the board, but I definitely put this years Baylor team on par with the best Father Ryan teams of the mid 2014-17...AND Baylor looks to return pretty strong next year!
  12. Yup- hopefully next year TSSAA can look at a calendar.
  13. Whitworth showed up to play! Kudos to him- Congratulations. Cagle gets redemption from dual loss against Miller- congrats to both. Team Runner-up is getting close between McCallie and CBHS! Great win and season for Connor Duffy! Great kid! Harper comes out on Top in the big showdown with Peterson! Big win. Peterson will get his down the road. Congrats to both. Wooten too much for Chambers. Kid is a beast! Congrats to both! At this point starting at 152...McCallie, Baylor and CBHS all with 2 Champions...McCallie about to get another at HWT. Howard does what he has done all season! Cordey takes care of business! McCallie and Baylor with 3 Champs and CBHS with 2 to this point. Bond's experience too strong comes through with big win!! Congrats! McTorrey's future very bright, for an 8th grader very tough and scrappy- fun to watch! Congrats to both! Next Match Braman Vs Dalrymple may decide the team runner up....should be a good one. Dalrymple with huge win- kid is strong. Braman put up a good fight. Congrats to both! Baylor with 4 Champs, McCallie and CBHS with 3 to this point....CBHS takes control of runner up position. Emory Taylor shows why he is one of the best, good win! Congrats. Big CONGRATS to Noah Horst! 4X TSSAA State Champion! Quite an accomplishment! Baylor with 5 Champs, McCallie with 4 and CBHS with 3. Dendy with his 2nd State Championship as a Soph (may be on his way to a 4X State Champ)! IMO- Dendy is the best P4P wrestler (at least in DII) and fun to watch. Pitts is a fighter and did a good job tonight! Congrats to both young men. Anthony closes victorious for CBHS! Marchetti had a great run in this championship coming in ranked #5 in PinTN rankings- can hold his head high! Congratulations to Baylor #1 (6 Champs), CBHS #2 (4 Champs) and #3 McCallie (4 Champs).
  14. Impressive results....Durdon, did any additional wrestlers from TN participate outside these four?
  15. http://www.pin-tn.com/?page_id=1207 Kudos to the Coach that updated the Pin TN rankings prior to the tournament- the only areas that did not play out as listed (after the semi-finals): 145: #1 Evan Anthony Vs #5 Benjamin Marchetti (great tournament for Marchetti- close win over Radpour 6-4- BIG win over Barnes 9-1) 152: #1 Garrett Bowers Vs #3 Lawrence Madson (not far off and in my opinion Madson was #2 based on regular season) 182: #1 Connor Duffy Vs #3 Chase Looper Based on the last PinTn DII Rankings...this was pretty spot on at the top of the ticket! ALL other #1 Vs #2 in every other weight class are set as listed. My key matches for tomorrow "in the finals": 120: #1 Dayne Darymple Vs #2 Jack Braman- can Braman redeem from earlier loss? Darymple may be too strong.... 160: #1 Alex Whitworth Vs #2 Omaury Alvarez- Alvarez has wrestled Whitworth closer than anyone in TN over the past few years and seems to be closing the gap and had a huge win over Spell in semis....Does he get Whitworth in the finals? Should be a great match. Not bad for a freshman...either way, his future is bright. Going to go on a limb....Alvarez wins state. 170: #1 Gavin Cagle Vs #2 Jacorey Miller- can Cagle redeem earlier 3-1 loss to Miller. Miller's move to 170 may have been a brilliant move. Jacorey is very quick and athletic....but I think Cagle comes back and takes the state here. 195: #1 David Harper Vs #2 Parker Peterson: WOW! Per previous comments by Bearcat 90- I think this will be the match of the tournament...going with Harper on this one. Will be close. 220: #2 Al Wooten Vs #2 Barrett Chambers: Chambers gives up a lot of size to Wooten, not sure he can overcome. Wooten is the safe pick. I think Shack Van Dusen may have a trick up his sleeve strategy wise and may give the underdog Chambers an edge. Going with Chambers! These are the interesting matches from my perspective...the rest of the weight classes I think will go #1 over #2 as listed.
  16. Agree! Maybe the best matchup of the entire TSSAA tournament...will be a brawl! In my unsolicited opinion...going with Harper in this one.
  17. The justification for Miller moving to 170lb makes sense as he did not have the same outcome Vs Whitworth and Alvarez at 160lb in their duals this year. Madson and Manella will be a great match for sure! Good luck to all of these guys- would be fun if a few break through and disrupt the status quo at the top.
  18. The updated Pin TN rankings are pretty spot on from my perspective (especially at #1): http://www.pin-tn.com/?page_id=1207 The only weight I think will be interesting (as it relates to the top #1 of the ticket) is at 170lb- how will Jacorey Miller fair in this weight class moving up from wrestling in 160lb all season? I think it may be a stretch to put him at #1 here. I think it will be between Cagle and Garriques. Garriques has wrestled Cagle pretty tough in the Regionals and should be a good match. At 145lb, not sure if Radpour is #2 here, will be a tough match for him Vs Robbie Barnes in the semis. But Anthony should take the Championship. Same with 152lb, although Anthony Manella won the Regional (great win for him) will face a very tough Lawrence Madson in the semis. Should be a great match...but either will be runner up to Garrett Bowers. We will see....
  19. Both wrestled Schroeder from MBA in the State Duals- both won by pin. I like Alvarez although Spell looks very strong and wrestles with an edge (2 penalty pts Vs Schroeder in 1st period). Alvarez has wrestled Whitworth very competitively (have not seen many be able to do this over the years) and took him into OT at the Regionals where Whitworth won 5-3- and I think when they wrestled during the season Whitworth won 6-4. I see Whitworth Vs Alvarez in finals...and this match should be close. Interestingly, Spell did not wrestle against McCallie in the first round of the state duals, but did wrestle in later matches- so did not face Whitworth.
  20. Christian Bros has definitely put up the best challenge in TN-
  21. TrustMe

    AAA Duals

    Well...did he honor the bet?
  22. TrustMe

    D2 Duals

Baylor rolls as everyone has already stated- going out on a limb with this one. In the first round will be interesting to see how the Father Ryan Vs MBA match will be interesting to see- MBA looks tough and may pull an upset. Christian Brothers Vs McC will be a good one to watch and will come down to bonus points- I have the matches at 7-7. Who can stay off their back? I give edge to McCallie, but would like to see a Baylor Vs Christian Bros final (as they have not wrestled this year). 1. Baylor 2. McCallie 3. Christian Brothers 4. Father Ryan (very tempted to put MBA in this spot)
  23. Scenic City Sports on FaceBook has the replay..... https://www.chattanoogan.com/2020/1/24/403033/Top-Ranked-Baylor-Wrestlers-Whip.aspx I thought the best match of the night was the HW between James Howard and Sam Christensen- Howard is a beast and seems like a good kid...impressed with Christensen to stay with him and avoid bonus points was huge for Baylor. Kudos to both wrestlers. Congrats to Baylor!
  24. As I understand....this match will be streamed live through McCallie. https://www.mccallie.org/Live Should be some very good matches tonight.
