  1. I agree that having that many coaches in a short amount of time is not beneficial. However, the previous admin who are responsible are no longer employed at the school or have anything to do with who this new coach will be. It DOES matter who the admin was at that time if you are looking for someone to be held responsible for those decisions. You cant just throw blame on a group of people who had nothing to do with that. The current admin I'm sure wants to be successful and will do what they feel is best for the program. Although, there will always be those who cannot be made happy and think that throwing up their negative opinions on an online forum will magically help the situation.
  2. Ah...so now you’ve shifted some of the responsibility from the coaches to the players now. You’ve got it all figured out. Just throw blame around blindly without offering any kind of solutions. Be done talking period, best thing you could do.
  3. The discipline IM TALKING ABOUT is not having girls on the court cursing, yelling at adults in the stands, and throwing temper tantrums like there had been the last several years. So in that regard, in my opinion, there has been tremendous growth in the discipline of this team. And I will say it again, you are DELUSIONAL if you think a different coach, with the same group would have won many more games if any. These girls are playing hard, and the LEAST helpful thing for them, is lack of support from people in the stands. They are frustrated, and it shows. Going home and hearing people talking down about the team, that are not putting in the time and work this coach and these girls are, is NOT helping. You are part of the problem. You cant honestly be saying the things you have, and think you are in any way helping a program you say you care about.
  4. I don't see the point you are trying to make here. How is an administration who has been there long enough to make ONE HIRE to blame for the fact that there have been several coaches come and go BEFORE they even got there? And why does there even have to be blame involved? Sometimes coaches moving on, is best for both parties and no one is to blame. However, most don't seem to understand all that goes into a decision like that. Someone HAS to be to blame, and admin just wakes up one morning and says, "I think I am going to fire my coach, and start the fun of finding a new today!"
  5. A lot of people have their opinions, but once again, most are only critical of the coach instead of being supportive. This lady is 6 games into her first year. Everyone wants to complain about coaches coming and going, and want to blame everyone except know it all fans/parents who begin talking bad about a coach 5 games in! Who WOULD want to coach in that environment? Perhaps someone who cares about trying to build a program of character and discipline despite being surrounded by constant negativity like you are bringing here. If starters are not doing the job they need to be doing, why leave them out there instead of going to the bench? If you feel like that's giving up, that's a parents mindset, not a coaches. And if you and "a lot" of people KNOW that this coach is making so many bad decisions this soon into her coaching career at FC, more than likely you and this bunch never wanted to give her a fair chance in the first place. Pathetic.. CC lost to White County twice by a total of 3 points by the way. I'd still consider that match up a pretty tight one.
  6. I am curious as what you feel like constitutes, "giving up?" Making substitutions? Trying to find SOMEONE willing to step up and make something happen? I have been to several games, and I do believe she is doing her best with what she has on the team. I'm not sure what games YOU have watched that you believe you could come up with some magical combination of players available on the team to beat or even run with CC(potential run to state) THS(very likely to go deep into playoffs) or SM(probably the best all around team FC has faced). If you have these answers, then why not offer what you think that is? Negativity towards a coach and a team does nothing positive for any program. Be supportive or step off.
  7. The current administration has been responsible for 1 hire. How do you feel they are to blame for the "revolving door" of coaches?
  8. You are delusional if you believe a different coach would have made a difference against Tullahoma or Cc. Those teams are vastly more talented than FC is this year. They don’t have much choice but to play young girls. Three of the juniors they have playing(1 starter) didn’t play as sophomores. One of the first girls off the bench and may have started a game or two wasn’t even a consistent contributor on JV the last two years. I think as a coach you have to let some of these young girls play if you want to have any shot at getting better the next few years. They seem like a great group of girls, but they have some work to do to compete this year. Coach Gilliam isn’t going to give up in a game, but she does seem to be interested in getting some young players some minutes in hopes to be better in the future. FC could certainly have benefited from the two girls who were at FC as freshmen and left for Huntland after not enjoying playing for the Heltons. If you are a true Fan and Supporter of Franklin County Athletics, then be just that.
  9. I’ve heard that if kids agree to play sports at Huntland, they don’t have to take Kermit’s class. Most kids would probably rather suffer through summer workouts and daily practices than have to listen to Reed’s terrible jokes for a class period for the entire year.
  10. This all sounds planned out to me. Rhoton is probably looking to hire his old pal Mike Holt as the HC. He is occupied in the winter and spring, but his Fall is wide open. Its also suspicious that earlier in the week Philip Fulmer said he WOULD coach again, but not at the collegiate level. He has been seen at a ball game or two since Rhoton has been at the helm!
  11. Again, doesn't sound very supportive. You say to get behind the coach, then talk negatively about him. If you are a parent of a student athlete, then by your own words, YOU are the problem. I’m not here to argue, there is no need. You have proven my point all on your own.
  12. Little bit contradictory of your previous posts. You guys have a knowledgeable coaching staff for boys. You have expressed dislike for this Coach Holt gentlemen yet you say parents need to support the coach. What exactly do you want? I have been to a few of Franklin County’s boys and girls games in my travels through the area. They have the correct players playing on both JV and Varsity. They seem like a young team who just need some confidence. It will happen, unless parents who “support the coach” just bad mouth them on forums and in the stands.
  13. Huntland somehow landed Kermit Reed. I’d say anything is possible.
  14. If Holly Warlick doesn’t get the gig, Holt has to be a close second. He knows basketball. He knows much more than the ball being round. I’ve been to games and he always has 5 players on the court, so there’s something else he knows. Or maybe there is a parent who played some high school and JuCo ball 20 years ago and gained a lifetime of basketball knowledge coaching from the sideline who would like to throw their name in the hat.
