  1. Well, I don't have a son playing for SCHS, but I do have a daughter that does. I have read on several of these threads how great a student section and great fans LCHS has, I have a challenge for you... I believe it is time to drop this subject. Ok, we get it, you won, time to move on. Show some class and act like you have been there before. You got what you asked for with the suspensions. Have a great rest of the season! Enough is enough.
  2. I agree. I don't know why you would want to schedule so many Class A games of this caliber. Now it would be more reasonable if he did schedule schools like Jackson Co. and Clarkrange if he was going after the single A classes. But still it makes no sense. I would rather watch a close game, whether you win or not, than a blow out. Playing a few of these games to get you started but no more than than that. But on the other hand, it is good for those schools(single A) to see other teams and go at a faster pace than usual. Unless he is patting the stats for his players would be the only logical answer I could come up with. To each his own, I suppose.
  3. Well let's try it this way. I was defending my neighbor, Forrest. Should have been "our" instead of "your" sorry just a little typo. Don't get so defensive. You bashed on Forrest for the cheer, the bad attitude of the girls, the fans for not having enough class. What did you expect? Nice comments? Cascade11 was just saying to let it go. Then you jumped on him, then on me. We know this program very well and for the most part have the utmost respect for what goes on over there. Nice people, nice kids, nice coach, nice program. Have a nice day!! /flower.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":flower:" border="0" alt="flower.gif" />
  4. Whoa! Don't have to have a dog in the fight to have your say about our neighbor. While you may not have said that about their program (however you did mention attitude with the girls) and no you didn't flat out say that the cheerleader man ACTUALLY cussed, you did however leave that impression. Refs this year are bad, read the multiple threads on that. Really they are no worse than they have ever been, same thing, different year. Used to have this problem with my sister, boy she sure could dish it, just couldn't handle it when it came back to her. Good luck to you next year, this year is over for you.
  5. Cougarfan, lucky for you basketball season almost over BUT don't say in a month or so when you see the light that you weren't forwarned. Most everyone that has anything to do with the teams that she has played on from jr pro, jr high, aau, and 3 different high schools KNOWS what they are talking about with this situation. That record speaks for itself. And I know what I am talking about, been there, saw that, and glad that is over for us. Just sad and funny now.
  6. Eagles, you beat me to the punch. This child has caused problems everywhere she goes and it is always someone else's fault. It does start at home, when the parents lie, the child lies. Only a matter of time before they get caught. I just wish that so many other girls didn't have to get hurt in the process. To the MTCS parents, players, and coaches: Don't always believe what you are told, there are 2 or more sides to every story and when one side always is running, something is wrong there. You can ask anyone from Shelbyville, Unionville, and now Chapel Hill and I believe you would get the same story. Best of luck to all. Hope this works out for everyone (including her) in this matter. Just a sad story all the way around.
  7. can't explain that one, i didn't hear it. but when they played cookeville in Nov. again they were without 2 starters. may make a difference in a few weeks, we will see.
  8. It was a great game. Shelbyville jumped out to lead the game, never trailed. MJ played very good, I believe Miller got in foul trouble early and had to sit most of 2nd if not all. Shelbyville pressed some but changed it up alot. Hall couldn't get off many shots, Bell was open way too much for my liking and made a lot of easy baskets. I don't remember her from the first game. Was really frustrated at that game. MJ just wasn't getting the shots under the basket with the combo of Dawson and Jarrell underneath. Missed a lot of shots, they did better in the 3rd, caught up but Shelbyville would hit basket for basket to keep the lead. All 5 starters for Shelbyville have battle the "bug" this week and will have next week to get ready for districts on Saturday. Still have Riverdale on Monday though. I am just glad that Shelbyville pulled this one out! We knew it would be hard at their place early on, but they have learned to come together and rely on each other so well over the last month, just when it needs to be done. Good luck Eaglettes!
  9. your wrong. there had to be a very good reason for Owens to quit. She has never "quit caring" about her team. Her scholarship shouldn't even be questioned at this point. You must not know her to say that.
  10. Dismissed or quit? There is a big difference. The article doesn't elaborate on the circumstances. I believe she may have quit. May have gotten blamed for something out of her hands. Owens wouldn't have done something to get kicked off team or Coach would have said she was dismissed not "no longer a part of the team". I could be wrong, won't be the first or the last time. Only time will tell. But she isn't the first to have a disagreement with this coach.
  11. Shelbyville ALL the way!! After they dismantle Columbia tonight 65-18, they won the regular district title, now on to the district tournament! They played focused and very determined! Keep up the great job Eaglettes!
  12. she only had 10 points, she was 3 for 10 fg's, 4 for 6 ft's, 2 to's, 6 rebounds, and the 3 fouls she did get were in the fourth quarter. schs just did an excellent job of shutting her down. team had 12 turnovers total, only one in foul trouble was the younger hassell. schs was in total control, patient, and determined. good game, refs let them play mostly. foul ratio was wc 13 schs 14. sounds fair to me.
  13. don't know yet, i don't believe either has been announced in the local paper yet
  14. Former graduate and player: Allison Layne
  15. Where does the girl who's 6'8" play at? She must not play AAU as i've never seen anyone in this age group that tall unless they was from another state and still none was that tall. Has she grown alot over the summer or has her height been listed wrong ? She played two summers ago for Shelbyville Sport Shop 13u, did not play this past summer.
