Really? Now, that’s very interesting. Palmer melding his offense with those two twins. They’d put on a show out there together for sure I’d imagine. How does that work with the dynamics of that coaching staff though? A wing-t guy through and through, turning his offense over to a spread/more modern offensive minded guy? I would think he could restore his image well at a place like Whitwell too. A small school, with a tight knit town that supports it. A guy like that could go to a smaller version of Shelbyville and build it up for a few years. That would show people he’s growing and improving too. Plus, he’s the man in charge. Not working under someone else. That’s just one random guys opinion though.

Anyone hear anything else about this job? If it really was Shadowens, it’s be a great hire in my opinion. Palmer at Whitwell would also be very interesting.

Anyone have a feel for this one? Are they doing a wide search, or just hire from within. This an interesting job, that if led by the right person whose fully invested seems like it would be really successful.

I don’t know Cunningham, but I’ve visited Winchester several times and seen FC football play. From my vantage point this is an excellent hire. A young, energetic guy that’s proud of his hometown and where he came from. That doesn’t come along very often. I’d bet he’s the kind of guy that would be ALL IN at FC. He will work extremely hard in every area. He will recruit the hall ways and build dynamic relationships with everyone in the school. If he builds a family first atmosphere the way Palmer has at Shelbyville and be that invested, then Franklin County will be just fine. He’ll make people proud of Franklin County again and the wins will follow. Good move.

Bump. Anyone know if this one is close to being filled? Was really interested to see what direction they would go. Is it Crenshaw?

If it’s one of the two names I heard last night, this is an outstanding hire by Siegel. Great job by them.

Tomorrow is a half school day for many county schools with Friday being a day off for students, so I hear that’s when some of the candidates will be able to interview. It should be an interesting couple of days. I don’t think it’s guaratneed to be a good ole boy hire just yet.

I had been out of town for awhile, so I needed to make some calls again and be sure about my name. I don’t know for sure that he’s a really serious candidate so I don’t want to put his name out there yet, but let’s just say he’s had success where he’s currently the head coach, it’s in a near by school that plays franklin county a lot, and would make a lot people perk up if he was officially announced.

The one name I’ve heard that’s a finalist from a neighboring county school would be a massive upgrade, so I have to assume any other finalist for the job would also be. Is it safe to assume they’ll have this one filled by the time the second semester of school starts? Seems like they are moving quickly enough to do that. Is it going to be someone who has already been a head coach?

I’ve heard this as well. It’s a name that’s not already been mentioned yet, and will surprise some people. It will definitely shake things up if he’s a serious candidate.

Rumor has it they’ve completed interviews and determined who the finalists are for the job. I’d love to know who all put in for this job. Going to be interesting to see how it all shakes out.
