  1. Union City: 11 penalties for 102 yards Gibson Co: 2 penalties (both for false starts) for 10 yards.
  2. Agreed. Moving on. From the players I talked to, there really wasn’t any hard feelings on the field. Just part of the game. For the what it’s worth, your snide “twisty boys” comment…. not a good look for an adult. You be you though.
  3. I would also encourage you to watch the replay of this game - not to whine about how the officials did / didn’t call this or that. The Union City center (#77) put on a blocking clinic. In the first half, he put his opponent on his back on almost every play. In the second half, his opponents just shot at his (surgically repaired) knees on just about every play to avoid the pancake. I guess “unsportsmanlike” is in the eye of the beholder.
  4. What did I miss? Is LC planning on canceling again?
  5. Northwest TN. I went to Great American Sports in Jackson today, no luck yet.
  6. I’ve ordered by mail the last few years. Is there a store somewhere local where they’re available?
  7. I haven’t heard anything other than unsubstantiated rumor, but I think Union City may travel to the Milan Jamboree again to play the Bulldogs.
  8. This one has been circled on the calendar for a while. I look for Union City to come out fired up. They were not happy about having their noses rubbed in it last year.
  9. UC can’t sleep on Fulton County. They have some solid bigs in the trenches, and they always have speed. They came to Tennessee knocked off a pretty decent Greenfield bunch last year. I expect them to put up a fight.
  10. The verbiage is a little ambiguous, but I think it goes down as a win regardless of whether there would actually be a tiebreaker circumstance where this (non region) game would have any bearing on playoff seeding. Not sure though. But Union City has not found a replacement game for Lake County, and likely won’t at this late hour. The USJ and South Fulton games are replacements for two Memphis teams later on the schedule.
  11. From TSSAA The board also tackled how to handle a COVID-19 breakout as it pertains to competition in both the regular and postseason. A regular-season game becomes a win for seeding purposes if the opposing team can’t play due to COVID-19, but the team struck with illness would receive neither a win nor a loss. If both teams confront outbreaks of the virus, it is considered a “no-contest.” According to this, this game will go as a win for UC, and a no-contest for LC.
