  1. I assume the original poster means that as more and more schools get opened in TN, there is a ref shortage on Friday nights, necessitating that some games be played on Thursdays. I don’t think he means the Gallatin/West Creek game will have fewer refs than normal. But maybe I’m misunderstanding?
  2. Disagree this is a "must win" for Gallatin. In my opinion, this game determines 2nd vs 3rd place in the region. Nothing more, nothing less. It's a "must-win" if Gallatin wants a home playoff game, but otherwise, I don't think there's much difference between a 3-6, 4-5, or 5-4 season. All three suck. As for the actual game result, I think Beech wins relatively easily. I know Beech is down this year, but Gallatin is simply bad. Beating a bad Cookeville team and a bad Rossview team in their last two games doesn't change that fact. I predict Gallatin finishes the season by losing to Beech, losing to Lebanon, and beating Clarksville. They'll be 4-5 and finish in 3rd place in the region. In the first round of the playoffs, they will travel to the winner of the 10/29 Smyrna/Overton game. Gallatin will likely lose that first round game...but even if they win, they'll get rewarded with another butt whippin' at the hands of the Commandos in the second round. Just my two cents. But hey...you never know what'll happen until they play the games! High school kids are more prone than your average athlete to over or under performing any given Friday.
  3. Not sure many of the kids who would take those L's voted, but I understand your sentiment. As a Gallatin fan, I'd much rather watch a game against Henry County than a game against Hunters Lane. But at the same time, it doesn't seem logical that we should be able to skirt around a region game. The reason I posed the original question is that Hunters Lane's current schedule doesn't show Gallatin on 10/2. It shows Antioch. If both teams rescheduled and both are able to play, does Gallatin still get a region W for standings under TSSAA rules or does neither team get a W? My instinct is that Gallatin should be required to play Hunters Lane on 10/2 if both teams are playing that night, even if it's a boring game for fans.
  4. Metro Nashville is resuming play this Friday as I understand it. Gallatin was originally scheduled to play Hunters Lane on 10/2 and Glencliff on 10/30. Gallatin has replaced those region games on its schedule with Henry County and Northeast. With Metro resuming, is Gallatin required to revert back and play those region opponents on those dates? And if not, what is the result of those games considered if Hunters Lane and Glencliff are able and willing to play Gallatin? It is presumably no longer a COVID forfeit, right? Can someone help me understand how this wackiness will play out?
  5. How many games are you guys "playing" this year? You seem to have counted six games for Green Hill through 4 weeks. At this rate, you'll have scored 17 points and be 7-9 by the end of the season. Maybe an outside shot at a wildcard spot...wait...wrong league. Jokes aside though, nobody has animosity towards a new program or the kids battling to build something from scratch. And nobody doubts the program will be humming along in no time. However, the fastest way to make people dislike a new program is for fans to act ridiculous and do things like...well...claiming to be 3-3 after playing and losing three games...
  6. I think Clarksville Northeast is taking Glencliff's slot. They haven't found a replacement for Hillwood. Currently, they have a 9-game schedule.
  7. I'm not saying he's correct, but Zach Womble seems to think Gallatin will be outgunned by Lebanon. Here's the article I read: https://www.mainstreetpreps.com/school/beech/sumner-county-football-preview-week-1/article_82fdaf80-e17c-11ea-b1e8-a7f9c4b29acb.html
  8. Agreed. I watched the highlight film on Summit's RB/DE. He's a beast. 6'4" 215 pounds according to his Twitter profile. I think if Gallatin stops him running the ball and runs away from him when he's on D, Gallatin can get the win. https://www.unapproved website.com/athlete/keaten-wade/Ey7vmqZoEeiAxKkkK9HIDg/default.htm
  9. Mt. Juliet and Station Camp just moved their game to Thursday due to impending weather. I bet Gallatin/Beech doesn’t get moved. Anyone know if it’s being discussed?
  10. https://twitter.com/beechfootball/status/1186360649498140678?s=21 I don’t think the $7 is all he got right based on Beech football’s own tweet. Get yer Beech PSL’s here! Beech PSL’s! Only $20! Get ‘em while they’re hot! Lol. Scalping your own fans with tickets that “don’t include the price of admission” is pretty hilarious!
  11. My apologies. You’re correct. I didn’t realize the (H) on the “upper“ third round bracket line was conditional. I just assumed that line got home field regardless. I’m glad I was wrong because my interpretation created an absurd result. One question: if Friday night’s loser makes it to the state semis against HC, does the region 6 #2 team get the semifinal Home field against region 7 #1? It seems like yes, but that too is illogical.
  12. Assuming this game is close, I’m not sure it’s better to win. It’s so hard to beat a team twice in one season. And if these teams do rematch in round 3, the team that LOSES the first game gets to be the home team in round 3. Not logical...but that’s the way it’ll shake out if there is indeed a rematch.
