  1. It takes a lot to have a winning season, you need Jimmy's and Joe's that know the X's and O's. Marion's problem is that they have 14 coaches (Still don't know why there are so many!) telling 65 young men (and 1 young lady) what to do and only a couple of the coaches actually know how to get it done. Every year you have different players with different athletic abilities and good coaches know this, understand it, and adjust accordingly. Unfortunately, Mathis is not included in that count. Yes he went 13-2 his first season, using Ricky Ross' plays and players. What happened after that? 7-6, 3-7, and now this year 2-8 (about to be 2-9). And who thought it was a good idea to schedule multiple 5A teams, one of them even on homecoming?! The speed is still there, they just don't know which way to run. No one fears the wing 'cause its broke and everyone sees it coming, As for that beard, its looking scraggly and should be relocated. I know teams have their ups and downs, but MC has good athletes and there should have been a few more W's on that record. With all of that, I will be still be at the game tonight cheering for our kids and hoping for a miracle. GO WARRIORS!!! #W4L
  2. Whew! That last one was rough, but its over and we can get back to thinking about region games that count. Plus we weeded out the bandwagon fans and should have a more solid fan base there Friday night. As for the Rams, this is a solid team that had an off-time against Howard. Its high school football, it happens. A few years ago, the Rams came to MC and were losing going into the 4th quarter. Two things happened, MC got arrogant/relaxed and the young men on the Tyner sideline decided that they wanted it more. MC lost to Tyner that night and MC has not beaten Tyner since. I don't think this is the year that MC gets a win against Tyner, but I expect MC to at least be competitive and give them a good game Friday night. I'm thinking Tyner 35-17. C'mon Warriors, prove me wrong! Again, its high school football and anything can happen. Go WARRIORS!!!
  3. Dang! I finally get back to the real world (the one that has internet service) and I have to read through almost 14 pages of Pirate smack and MM nonsense just to find out that there are no Warrior fans on here?! GO WARRIORS!!! Make sure you get a couple of hits on those "transfers", if Grider even lets them on the field.
  4. Wow! 47-6 MC! Those Warriors brought it tonight!
  5. I'm sorry, I have to poke the bear - is "MarionMadness" actually Mathis trying to save his job? I'll be at the game tonight, cheering the Warriors on and hoping for a win. Guess what? I'll be there next week doing the same thing, and the next, and the next... Its what a fan does. With what I've heard about Polk and what I've seen in MC, my prediction is MC 26-20.
  6. 1. Tyner 2. Bledsoe 3. Tellico Guess this Friday night will tell us how 4 & 5 turn out with MC and Polk.
  7. MC has to win this one, Wonder if that big throne that everyone has Mathis on is starting to get warm yet? May have to shave that scraggly beard and move on if he can't get it done against Polk.
  8. I honestly didn't believe it was going to be that close. Lots of mistakes on both side of the ball for both teams, but nothing that can't be fixed with a couple of intense practices. Ambassador, I don't see MC going 5-5 this season, especially seeing that Bledsoe is now 2-0. Polk, Walker Valley, and maybe Tellico could be their only chances at a "W".
  9. Doesn't matter which poll you are looking at, those top 4 (P, TC, MC, & TA) are all going to be a beast this year. Too early for me to predict which one will be holding a gold ball in Cookeville in December.
  10. I agree. I know that SC didn't show everything at the jamboree, but their line was impressive. I'm ready for a good ole' slobber-knocker!
  11. Excellent question 93grad. I was wondering that myself. Getting back to the original subject, I think MC has a very athletic team but they are not the same caliper as some of the most recent teams. The only thing I have to go on with SC is their performance at the jamboree; I did not get to make it to the SC/SP game this past Saturday. I think if MC can fix a few things in practice this week, they can make the game interesting and keep it close. And before anyone questions my loyalty, I'm purple through and through, I love my Warriors (#WFL) and I will always be there cheering them on, no matter what.
  12. I just heard that MC will be down a QB now due to injury. MarionMadness, hate to burst your perfect little bubble, but MC plays like everyone else. Not sure there is much integrity, respect, or honor by getting flags for hitting a player beyond the sidelines like was done in the scrimmage against Dade Co., again during the jamboree, and yet again at Fayetteville. If you are worried about new plays against region foes, why waste them on South Pitt? They are not in MC's region.
  13. With both losing their opening game and each only scoring a single TD in their respected games, who has the edge this week?
