  1. MASE could win but I tilt favor to McKenzie and here’s why by using the Peabody/MASE game. I stated last week on the Peabody/MASE game that Peabody needed to bring in #3 or #86 as a big running back because Wilkins was too small and easy to tackle. So what happened……QB Driggers ran the ball I think 27 times. Well Wilkins was basically benched and it was a line up with Driggers running. No back eliminated the play action therefore no passing game. This all said Peabody was winning the whole game until less than two minutes to go. Sorry I respect the tide coaching staff but just three years ago Dickerson became the stud RB in the playoffs because of his size. I would have thought the same strategy would happen in this game. MCKENZIE has a back with size, a QB that can run and pass to offset MASE’ s quickness. McKenzie needs to hit MASE’s Brown every play. He’s the only player that can beat McKenzie. Advantage McKenzie
  2. I’m a huge Peabody fan. Chances for Peabody to win are slim. We will need to run the ball well and our RB is too small. If we implement a big RB and pound out some ground game it will enable Driggers to have success passing. Peabody’s defense has not been good the last two years against good teams. I’m afraid MASE will win handily by at least two touchdowns.
  3. I listened to the Westview/Dresden game. Dresden scored on 4 big plays. Pass of 37, 47,69 yards and a long punt return. Dresden nor Westview could run the ball. I know Westview had 16 pass attempts the first half. So if all Peabody can do is run which I think that will be the case I give Westview the edge because they will connect on passing. Evidently Dresden had good coverage in the secondary and I think Peabody’s secondary is vulnerable. With this said Peabody is a very crippled team right now so they could end up being tough the second half of the season.
  4. How many rushing yards did Fayetteville have against McKenzie ? Would like to know game stats if anyone has that info
  5. McKenzie played good defense last night. Last year has nothing to do with this year. Merely comparing the difference. Fayetteville obviously had difficulty offensively last night.
  6. A lot going against Peabody. McKenzie will be fired up. McKenzie has a better defense than Peabody. I know I was criticized for my defense remarks on another post. When Peabody has played a decent team (Milan, Westview, Huntingdon) their defense was not good.a lot of arm tackling last night against Lake County I am not being critical but just keeping it real. Another comment was made about Vaughan only carrying it 20 times last year. Vaughan was the beast in the backfield in the state championship last year. Go back and look at my comments before the Tide /Meigs state championship game. I stated Peabody will need Vaughan running the ball. McKenzie will be focused on Ganaway. Ganaway is incredible but we need another weapon. Again early in the season I thought it was going to be Baskerville. Driggers will need to have a good night for Peabody.
  7. Peabody defense against Milan, Westview, and Huntingdon was not good. All the other teams they played were very weak teams. Same goes for McKenzie and Fayetteville. Show me defense or these games will just be who out scores the other team. Keeping it real.
  8. Peabody, Fayetteville, or McKenzie……… we have no idea. Peabody is missing a good defense and a RB like Vaughan. I thought it was going to be Baskerville but evidently not. These 3 teams do not have a good defense. So it’s hard to gauge who comes out on top. Show me the defense and that’s the winner of these 3. No clue.
  9. Both 1A and 2A state champs will be from the West. Every freaking year Meigs County Is favored and they get their butts whipped. Huntingdon or Westview will beat Meigs handily. Okay 2A : if Huntingdon doesn’t turn the ball over they will beat any 2A team. Yes they will beat Westview barring turnovers. State champs 2021 Peabody and Huntingdon. My disclaimer is if Huntingdon has turnovers Westview will win. Bottom line the 1A and 2A belong in the west . East can dream again
  10. Great game. Two great teams that displayed sportsmanship. Class act! Ty Simpson is the real deal. Driggers is also a solid QB. My take on the game: turning point Peabody up 28-14. Get a stop. Westview punts and Peabody’s punt returner let’s it roll. Peabody defense just got a huge stop and now they have to face WV offense after the safety. Another note is WV pretty much stopped Ganaway in the second half. They sold out on stopping him. Peabody’s passing game is solid. However Ganaway’s last run was beast. He should of been stopped twice and he took it to the one . Now Peabody: I posted this last year before Peabody played Meigs. The Tide needs an alternative in the backfield like they used Vaughan last year. I would think that would be Baskerville. Ganaway is superb but the Tide needs a beast running back also. Of course no one knows but if the Tide punt returner would have not let the ball roll I believe Peabody wins by two touchdowns.
  11. Peabody has an excellent coaching staff that has a way of finding solutions.
  12. Peabody’s Sophomore QB managed a great game. I had concerns but he did fantastic. I mentioned in earlier post Peabody needed to rely on Vaughan. They did and he produced. Peabody won the battle in the trenches hands down. Bottom line the difference was speed. I think for Meigs to get to another level they must implement a passing game. They are too predictable and rely on the o line for the run game. That’s fine but you got to open up the run game with passing against tough opponents. Back to an earlier comment about Coach T rankings. When I view the schedule section teams are always ranked. Hampton was ranked 1 until they lost. Trousdale was 2 the week they played Meigs. No biggie just an observation. I love Coach T’s site.
  13. Just for record.... This site... Coach T has never ranked Peabody # 1 THE PAST 3 years. Obviously a bias to East and middle Tennessee teams.
