  1. Couldn’t agree more on the work load and pressure part. Nothing against meadows cause he’s done well with the job but coaches gonna have to help him a little with play calling to win big games. You also stated about him being built different. This may affect him playing both ways and still running it 20+ games. The past two qbs in swafford being 6’ 205 and carroll being 5’9 190 may have the coaches thinking they can run him just the same which could produce some more L’s. Hopefully coaches come together and figure out the offense as well as fine tuning the D for upcoming games.
  2. Also looking back last nights game ends the 5yr+ (don’t know the official game total or year) win streak that the tigers had at home in regular season. Congratulations Bledsoe.
  3. I agree to what you said about the power I. I wasn’t really clear on what I was meaning. I think the power backs are good to pound 3-4 yards up the middle. I was mostly meaning speed backs to help meadows cause with the read option and the fake power QB runs. Especially if the play calling is gonna stay the same as it is. Opponents can spread out the defense and stop the qb outside and still be comfortable enough to be able to stop the power backs. This offense could be much better with play calling that can set the kids up to succeed.
  4. Great game to both teams both played a amazing game. Bledsoe beat us in coaching and physicality is what I saw. 22 and 2 are studs for BC and TUFF! Coaching and play calling once again caught up to us. Bad play calling is the difference in the game ( for meigs I don’t want to take anything away from BC cause they won in every aspect of the game.) linebacker play did look better though for meigs, and it ultimately kept meigs in the game for a chance to secure the W. Back to the offense though once a play doesn’t work you don’t need to keep calling that play plain and simple. Ole coach is gonna have to find some speed for running the ball behind meadows. He can’t have 3 power backs trying to get the edge against teams. Adding speed will also help meadows case. I give it to meadows he’s tuff. I said earlier in the week that fitz needs to take control or the flaws will show, and I truly believe we just saw the first step of that happening. Cant blame the kids for this L it’s on the coaches.
  5. Again, this team is young and mistakes will happen. I have watched the best Qbs and Rbs no matter the age make mistakes. This team has a 1st yr qb and basically 1st year running backs (saying they haven’t rushed more than 75 times in a season). So forced passes and fumbles will happen when adversity and fatigue hits. Going back to the linebacker play, I wasn’t saying linebackers stink. I said they can’t be stepping back before coming downhill. No offense to you but anybody that plays or has played football knows that linebackers need to be the physical captains on D meeting Rbs in the hole not 3 yards downfield. I’ve seen glimpses of it but not against a good sweetwater team. I will say they did look better against TKA and they will improve throughout the year. Lets be honest the first couple of games are gonna be iffy with play on all parts of the field from Offense to defense to even special teams. Again this team is young and mistakes will happen but they will grow and produce better when chemistry builds, and they will have to produce a little better for a deep playoff run. I generally think that’s why past teams were so good chemistry plays a huge part in hs football. Also Play calling has been hit or miss but then the head coach has to step in when its missing on the field and when situations come up off the field ( with coaches, discipline, and communication with the team.) At the end of the day it is his job
  6. Don’t think fumbling is the issue in Meigs county that will happen here and there. The main issue that has been there is the coaching staff, the way they handle games is just sad. Having athletes like last year in #15, #2, #8 and #77 on offense saved some games for them. Along with them same kids plus #3 and #26 on defense. When you got kids that can play you get bailed out. Defense looked lousy against a good sweetwater team. Early line had no pressure and all game middle linebackers were backing off the line with first step back and that can’t happen. I think it’s starting to show how lucky boss man fitz was with talent. Coaching must improve all around to win games when it matters. Plain and simple. Excited to see this team grow though, as they are young and got some young playmakers.
  7. I agree the boys squatting shows they got something coming next year. I’ve also heard the upcoming Jr Qb #2 (Carroll I think) is working hard every week. Will meadows has be coming with him and working his butt off. He has shown he’s not leaving without a fight to get back to the state championship. I can see these two being the leaders the team needs. We have to fill the lineman spots but all in all I think next year will be a special year.
  8. Am I the only one who sees #5 as a better linebacker than runner??
