  1. Not interested in school or coach bashing but what is the reason for Clintons struggles?
  2. The Atlanta Falcons played a significant role in getting girls flag football started in Atlanta and then it spread throughout the state. It is a great way to promote and protect the sport of football. Many of those young ladies will have sons one day and hopefully their experience will encourage them to allow their kids to play football.
  3. You might want to get used to this type of thing happening. It is a good example of what we will most likely see during the season.
  4. Lots of school districts will not make the decision on being in school or on-line until late July. If they are waiting that long to make that decision they may wait just as long to make a decision on football. If that is indeed the case pushing the season start date back two weeks would make sense.
  5. Or the year after. That way you dont mess up home and away contracts and schedules. This would just becomes 6 year classification cycle.
  6. Recent poll in the USA Today stated that 1 out of 5 teachers are considering not teaching next year due to covid 19. The vast majority of those were in the "at risk" group.
  7. I dont think sports happen in that case. If we are so concerned with social distancing that school districts are running hybrid schedules it will be hard to see them allowing football.
  8. A NFHS streaming subscription cost $70 per year. 50% of that money goes to the NFHS. So only $35 goes to the school per subscription (that the whole family can watch) goes to the school. Thats not alot of income for schools when compared to an entire family purchasing tickets for the games over the course of the season.
  9. I do not think that fanless games are feasible. Need fans to pay officials, buy equipment, pay for security (to keep people out). Football gates pay for uniforms, helmets, shoulder pads, etc. No fans means no concessions. Concessions profits usually help fund football or other sports. Football without fans is an losing economic proposition.
  10. Just saw that metro has delayed summer athletics until Nashville enters stage 3 of the mayor's reopening plan.
  11. And it is a real shame that many people feel that they cannot trust their childs coaches to not hold it against them.
  12. Agreed. Tennessee school liability law is very much based on the concept of "forseeability". Meaning schools cannot be held liable when "unforseen" events take place but, when there is clear evidence that something could possibly occur then schools can be held liable. If a student contracted covid-19 in March because of the lack of social distancing while at school that was unforseen. Now flash forward to August. A school district has students return to school and cannot guarantee social distancing and a student contracts covid-19. This was "forseeable" and thus the school district can be held liable. Unless offered relief from covid-19 liability torts on the state level I think that most schools will remain online due to liability as well as safety concerns.
  13. I understand the frustration but should Clarksville Montgomery county's decision to not allow small group workouts in June affect the entire state? Should one school district decide not to play does that mean no one plays?
  14. No football this year. Most likely no basketball and wrestling. Sports that do not allow for social distancing are most likely done for next year. Public concerns and liability concerns will win out in the end. School superintendents are not going to risk it. I am not happy at all with it.
  15. Sounds to me like the OSSAA just left it entirely up to the to the local school boards or local government entities.
  16. That map looks correct. All five of those schools have unusually high numbers of college prospects (except Powell). I would would say college football recruiting drives traffic on the M.P. site. Figured De LaSalle would be more popular than Mater Dei in CA.
  17. Hate to hear they delayed the turf field.
  18. Do any school districts have a plan for July when the pads are supposed to go on? A whole bunch of teams have 75 to to 125 players. In july will you be able to meet as a team?
  19. The MTCS opening is a head scratcher. Curious what happened there.
  20. Tennessee is going out in June but Georgia has a plan for July and August. What is Tennessee's plan for those months? Georgia list dates that heat acclimation and half padded and full padded practice starts? When does the TSSAA or any government entity say that will happen in Tennessee? How many days are we from playing our opening contest?
