Of course CPW and DG are going to say CJP will do a great job. DG is a company man and he is most likely responsible for the hire so he must say the right things to ensure the DCA community. CPW is still in the game and he would not disrespect another coach, so of course he is going to say CJP will do a great job. We are not stupid. I hope you saying negative things or insinuating negative things about JB & NJ does not hurt your standing, or your DCA employed family member's standing at DCA. You obviously care much for DCA. Noble. CJP may well do very well, but his previous stint(s) as a High School HC tend to make people think otherwise. Personally, I hope he does well. Lot's of good people at DCA. Wonderful school.

As I read through this thread, it appears that Playerscoach and Sackmaster50 both think they know exactly what is going on at DCA. Almost as if they are working in the building, but that would be unprofessional to get on opinion boards and give out info that I'm sure Case, Singer and Goodwin would prefer to stay in house. When you say "sought after", are you saying he has been offered job by multiple schools or are you saying he has been granted interviews by multiple schools? Big difference when you insinuate the picture is getting clearer.

A couple of ways to look at it: 1. You look at outside parties if you feel there are not a qualified candidate(s) within your own building. Ex: Brentwood Academy, LA & Ensworth all made hires outside their building because they obviously felt they did not have candidate(s) that met their ideal qualifications. 2. You hire within when you have a qualified candidate(s) that offers unquestioned abilities and a proven track record and you want a smooth transition and possibly keep the current staff on board because of their abilities as well. Ex: McCallie hired within because they wanted a smooth transition and Bradford was more than qualified. It is sometimes easier for Administrators to hire within when the team(s) have a history of success.

I will chime in. I do not have a dog in the hunt, but I have been very close to Coach Palmer at one point early in his career and have tracked him ever since because given the opportunity.........I will hire him in a minute. Forrest......This is what you are getting: He is without a doubt one of the best QB developers in TN. His offenses have been dynamic. He is very good at finding tendencies in defenses and exploiting them. Very detailed practices. He has a phenomenal off-season program, not just weight lifting, Team building exercises based on competition and the will to win that You will see for yourself in short time. Despite the setback at Shelbyville, he is a family man with a strong willed bride. They survived the situation and have become stronger. He is at Forrest because he wanted that job and it gets him back to MidTN where he needs to be. I foresee him being at Forrest for the long term if he will be allowed to do his thing. He is good people. Congratz to Palmer and Forrest. It wont take long to see results.

Dickson County makes the trip to Clarksville High as both teams are 2-0 in Region 7AAAAAA. Thoughts on this game?

With the new law that allows TN teachers to come out of retirement and draw a new salary and keep most of their retirement intact due to teacher shortage kind of changes things for older, retired teacher/coaches. something to consider.

Dickson Co will stay in the region with the Montgomery Co school, even with Kirkwood coming in. Kirkwood was not included simply because it is not a "school" yet, therefore TSSAA cannot list them, but they are more than aware and still put Dickson in with Region 7-6A with the idea of leaving them there. Kinda/sorta reminds me of the old skool District 10-AAA

Where will Kirkwood in Clarksville fall? They are playing varsity from day 1 in '23. From my understanding they are pulling kids from a few schools in Clarksville. Will that skew the #s and trigger schools to move classifications?
