  1. explain how Fayetteville has 4 players on the East team for the East v West game. the only other school in the state at a glance with 4 is Oakland on the West. McKenzie has one, and it isn't even the Mr. Football.
  2. i think re-working the brackets would help at least a little. this year-in, year-out cookie cutter TSSAA bracket for the playoffs is dumb. some options: rotate the regions so people play different teams in the playoffs each year seed them into quadrants of 1-8 based on record and SOS and don't bother with regions at all in the playoffs there's no reason for the east/west line. if the two best teams in the state are on the same side, then they shouldn't meet until the championship. i think i read on here that georgia's championship game hasn't had a north vs south game in several years, and that's how it should be as long as the two best teams are meeting
  3. I don't think he was saying MASE doesn't practice special teams. In fact, I think he was saying the teams are so evenly matched defensively and offensively that it's going to come down to the difference in special teams
  4. yeah, I just went back and found it. Thanks! While I respect your opinion, and you're probably correct in the breakdown, I hope your pick is wrong...both for the Tigers and my pick count!
  5. Man, I hate to hear that. Now that I think about it, I'm not sure what Fayetteville's standard practice is for visiting broadcast teams. I do know they're usually doing it from the visitor's side in away games....they're usually sitting right behind or next to me. My sister usually tries to get them something to eat or drink.
  6. Haha yeah I know, I've seen. I think I saw the story behind it once, too. That's why it was so funny for a second...thought you were predicting an even bigger blowout. What's your take on this game? I don't think I've seen your pick yet.
  7. at first i thought you were predicting the score
  8. Hope you're wrong, bud. I know McKenzie wants this win, but the Tigers are hungry. They've wanted this game since last year. And honestly, the fans have too.

  10. i'm from the area. i have family in that school. those stats are pretty accurate. whites are not the minority at the City high school
  11. Also fun facts: The demographics of Lincoln county, TN is 86.1% white and 6.1% black as of 2021. You want to put them all in the same high school and you get about what I predicted by math in the post above. The City high school is a lot more diverse than both the County (geographic) and County (school). Tell me again how City high school is segregating the community.
  12. @IPOPU2022 you seem like a pretty cool dude but you were also posting about the "segregation" in a couple different areas. Read above
  13. as of 2018-2019 school year, Fayetteville High School was 31% black and 54% white, with enrollment at 364. Lincoln County was 1% black and 89% white with enrollment at 1134. If you do the math, combining the schools would give you an enrollment of 1498, with 8% black and almost 81% white. the state average for schools is 22% black and 60% white, which still aren't great numbers. that being said, the City high school has a demographic closer to state average (better than state average, I'd argue) than the County school, and combining them would have a minimal effect. unrelated to your post, but someone somewhere was arguing the student to teacher ratio was worse at City than County....for the record, the same school year (18-19), the ratio was 15:1 (state average) at City and 17:1 at County (worse than average).
  14. You seem like a pretty cool guy in these forums. You keep a level head and keep everything focused on the boys and the game, with a plug here and there for your broadcast. I appreciate that. Just wanted to let you know. Good luck to both teams.....but also GO TIGERS!
  15. Do you know how healthy Peabody is coming into Friday?
  16. big guy, came out from the 2020 championship game with a knee injury, right? Geno?
  17. 1A Qtr Final winners are: Oliver Springs at Coalfield Gordonsville at Clay County Fayetteville at McKenzie Peabody at MASE 2A Qtr Final winners are: Monterey at York Inst Tyner at East Robertson Riverside at Lewis Co Union City at Huntington
  18. Unfortunately, through no fault of their own, they did have the weakest regular season schedule in all of 1A. Towards the end of the season they seemed to be getting a little more respect, at least here on CoachT. They made it this far, which is probably farther than anyone east of Memphis thought they would get in week 6. Honestly, I think they're going to give Peabody a really good game. For me, it's a toss up. And since I don't have a horse in this particular race, my only interest is in who wins and how they play. One week at a time, right?
