  1. Covington does lose RB Jamarion Dowell and few offensive lineman. They bring back QB Braden Gover, FB Skylan Smith and most of the line. The Defense brings back a lot up front but will have to replace Kydrick Mason at Lb and AC Mason at SS. I know the JV did well last year and many of those kids played this past season. They also got practice and play until late in November. I think Covington will be just fine next year. Ripley does have some athletes coming back and the big FB Pitts is back. Ripley must find a QB and get a lot better up front to close the gap for the top spot in the region. They also lost there best player on the team in LB Andre Carney. The rumor is their coach is looking to leave and if that happens who really knows what will happen at Ripley. I did hear Westview lost the house. I don't know much about Scotts Hill or McNairy other than they might not have the horses to compete with the top teams in the region. I think it still comes down to Dyersburg and Covington once again.
  2. BPM/Dustin..... You have been on here defending Diffee and Milan on many threads. Saying things are fine etc... I have it hard to believe that he told you himself when he didn't even respond to media outlets when the story broke/when they asked for a quote. Just admit you were wrong and go on about your business. I don't want to hear any welcome to the T BS etc... because I must be a credible enough source since I had the letter he sent to the Director of Schools and I know you did as well. You claim to be in Tune with Milan football and most of the time you are but in this case you were a little out of tune ole buddy. But hey the National Anthem before the Dyersburg playoff game sounded great!!
  3. To: Mr. Jonathan Criswell Director of Schools Milan Special School District From: Coach Carl Diffee Head Football Coach Milan Special School District RE: Letter of Resignation Mr. Criswell, I am writing to you today to resign from my position of Head Football Coach at Milan High School effective June 30th This decision was agreed upon in discussion with Jennifer Yates and Greg Scott regarding the future and direction of Milan Football. I want to thank you for the opportunity to serve in this role over the last two years. There is no doubt in my mind that Milan is a special place. I have made lifelong friends here and will cherish those relationships for the rest of my life. The players have made me a better person and I will always think highly of the quality of young men I've coached here. Even in an up and down year like we had this year I saw glimpses of how special this place can be. The young men who I have had the privilege to coach are second to none and endured their fair share of adversity this year, rising to meet it every week. There are great people here; Coach Cobb, Coach Carr, Coach Morales and all the other coaches on staff are some of the best people in the business and I hope that Milan will keep them around for years to come. I also want to thank you for always checking on me and encouraging me. You have been a true mentor and friend in the process and I am forever grateful for that. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to live up to the promises I made coming here and our season this year is unacceptable for this program. I take full responsibility and hold myself one hundred percent responsible. My inability to correct the flaws within our program throughout the year were evident week in and week out. I failed to lay out clear expectations for my assistant coaches as well as for our players. The disarray and undisciplined nature of our sideline and the execution of our play was not what Milan has been known for. I am not the right person to lead this program going forward. Milan deserves better than I am able to give and Milan will be in a better position with me stepping away. Thank you again for the opportunity to serve here the last two years. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to assist in the transition process. God's speed to Bulldog football and the Milan Special School District. Sincerely, Carl Diffee Letter obtained that Diffee sent the Director of schools
  4. Absolutely not! Westview got very fortunate to get moved down to 2A and they took full advantage. If they were still in 3A they would not even been in the Quarters. Maybe the 3rd seed in the new Region. They don't beat Dyersburg or Covington this year. IMO! Since Simpson was a freshman they didn't have much luck in Region 7 3A. And lets just look at what they did vs the top teams in that region. 2018 2-8 vs. Milan L 60-28 vs. Covington L 45-6 They were the State runner up that year losing 21-14 to Alcoa vs. South Gibson L 46-41 2019 6-5 vs. Milan L 60-28 2nd in the Region vs. Covington L 53-7 State Semi-Finals vs. South Gibson L 42-41 Region Champion 2020 7-5 vs. Milan L 29-6 State runner up and lost to Alcoa 35-0 vs. Covington L 48-0 Covid put them out of the playoffs vs. South Gibson L 26-19 L 21-17 2nd Rd of Playoffs Now they improved in overall record every year but were the 4th seed the last two years. This year like I said they are probably the 3rd seed because they did beat Ripley. Congrats to Westview for winning the 2A State Championship but saying they could play with Alcoa when they couldn't even win the 3A region is laughable
