  1. Sounds like he would be a good hire for Franklin then. I’m sure Franklin has been very diligent in the interview process. Whoever Franklin hires, I hope that coach has some success (just not against Indy). Franklin has been competitive these last few years but just couldn’t ever finish. I believe Franklin should have several players back as in qb and a receiver that was tough to cover. Will be interesting to see who gets the nod.
  2. He is not. I think his primary role is wrestling coach.
  3. Anyone know who is/has gotten the job at Franklin?
  4. Still don't think he was the answer for Head coaching job. They did have a good year after all that happened but had a good group of seniors. Now that the seniors are gone they are struggling. Moore is still calling the offense from what I've heard so that hasn't changed. The game I saw looked like Columbia needs another year and they should be better but right now they don't play great. If Mt. Pleasant beats them then that will send Columbia in a big talespin for the rest of the year. I don't think Mt. Pleasant can but I haven't seen them play so can't make that assumption but really columbia should have more depth and speed then they have.
  5. Head Coach is doing the defense and the coach who called plays last year is calling offense. Nothing has changed from how the play calling was last year other than Columbia not having the players they had last year. They have a good looking young group but they aren't ready for the friday nights. The offensive line is having a tough time blocking people up front so that might be another reason they are limited. Its been awhile since I've seen columbia this bad all around. Rebels win this easily.
  6. Went to the game last night and it looked very sloppy from both sides. A lot of penalties. Good win for the new head coach. Dickson definitely had opportunities to win the game but good job by Columbia defense bending and not breaking. Columbia needs to get better or they will struggle in district. Just based off watching last night Columbia will be battling for the 4th spot in their district. Just my prediction is if columbia doesn't clean up their penalties and not be predictable on offense they will not make the playoffs. I hope they do for the new head coach but it will be tough for them.
  7. Who do you think some possible targets are for the job?
  8. Didn’t see this coming I’m sure there has to be a job lined up that he couldn’t pass up.
  9. I think Nolensville will be tough next year. I do not know how many players are coming back for page but they are always a tough team. Nolensville was playing well at the end of the year. Greenhill and Page is going to be a fun game to watch. I think Page will pull it out.
  10. Hate to see Blade leave but he has done a great job for the program. I’m sure this will be a highly sought after job.
  11. Independence. It was an ok year for us. Lost to a solid team from Memphis in the first round. Since it was a late addition and from what I’ve heard most of the coaches left during that time I would give credit. Not sure if the coach was able to hire anyone since it was that late. I don’t know why the previous coach was let go so I guess it had to be for something internal bc I’ve seen columbia in the playoffs regularly. Didn’t they go to the second round last year?
  12. So your district isn’t as strong as it has been in the past few years. Indy who went to state the two years they were in 5a and summit who went to state the past two years. Also, during the Indy period you had Stewart’s creek, Lavergne, Indy and summit in district. All to which are now 6a and dropped down from 6a then. Sorry but this interim hasn’t done anything that’s special this season bc the combined record of opponents columbia has beaten has a record of 16-46 before playoffs. All this exposure of how columbia has gotten better this year is false advertising. Sorry but I’ve watched columbia play since the 90s and they haven’t been relative till they dropped to 5a then had a good group of players that came through. They are still the same since then. This hype of being the state champs year type of program is far gone. Good year for all the baggage that came with it but it wasn’t bc of the coaching I’m sure. Sorry, but columbia isn’t a program like it was back in 2009 to 2012. Too much hype from people on the radio and around town that don’t know football very well.
  13. Not sure why they had the coaching change at Columbia because I thought their coach was a stand up guy and worked hard. Maybe there is more to the story but that’s a pretty late coaching change.
  14. I agree with this. Page and Nolensville are hot right now. ESP Nolensville. They aren’t the team they were earlier in the year. They are playing much better than earlier in the season. Nolensville offense is starting to hit their stride and defense has stepped up. Qb is playing much better and making better choices. Nolensville def front has started playing better and secondary has played ok but still suspect. Page is still solid but defense needs to get better to go deeper in the playoffs. Offense is the best part about Page. When Page has to get better against the run. Columbia is solid but that fire will die out quick. Offense is predictable, just hand ball off to two players. If you make columbia have to pass then you win the game. Columbia def is ok. Defense front solid but secondary is suspect. Good to see Franklin county battle green hill and hate to see them lose at the end.
