  1. Not saying Station Camp or Macon will beat South Side or Chester at all but they could hang if shots are falling. Macon is better than they were a year ago in 7 AAA and would've competed better in the district if they were still in it. Probably would have still been battling with Stone & Dekalb with a possible upset here or there. Had some drama at the end of the year this year that hurt their record but have rebounded the last 2 games seems like. Played really well the 1st 2/3rd of the season minus the 2nd Livingston game. They have the tendencies to go into slumps but also to shoot lights out. Never know what you're going to get.
  2. Whoever comes out of District 9 in Region 5 may be able to compete with Southside or Creekwood but I wouldn't bet on it. District 10 is very weak unless Maplewood has a descent team this year. District 9 will be pretty competitive from top to bottom. Macon Co comes over from District 7 this year. They've been young the last 2 years and now is the time they should be competitive after taking their lumps. With going into a weaker district, it'll be interesting to see how they do. Station Camp will be descent, Greenbrier returns everyone (if I'm not mistaken), and Portland returns some good players. Don't know much about White House.
  3. I hear Smith Co got a big time transfer coming in. Suppose to put them in contention if anyone has heard anything about it.
  4. If Macon was in that district this past season, there was a good chance they'd made at least Region semi's if not Sub-State. They only won 1 game in 7 AAA.
  5. 7 AAA will be more competitive top to bottom next year. Cumberland may take a bigger step back then Livingston, Upperman, & White but still have a couple coming back. The players those other teams lose will be hard to replace to be as dominant as they were against the bottom half of the district. The bottom 3 teams pretty much return everyone although Macon will be leaving the district (Macon has a chance to win their new district next year after only winning 1 district game last year). Whoever comes out on top in 7 AAA will always be in the conversation. Just don't know who that'll be with the parity.
  6. Totally agree but wouldn’t rule out an upset in the first. Dekalb will be a tough out and Stone/Macon has been able to keep some of the games relatively close until halfway thru the 3rd. All it takes is one game where everything goes in favor in the underdog team.
  7. Macon has improved from last year but still young and really showed a couple of games this year. Still have yet to play a full game and usually take off 3rd quarters, lol. If they can get a couple of wins in district, it’ll be considered a success. It’s doable
  8. RBS didn't lose anyone off the team from graduation. Couple did quit that hurt depth but the core is still there. They also beat Van Buren head to head and looked good doing so. I'm with you regarding Pickett. They're pretty loaded but young. They are BY FAR the most talented team in the district but youth may bite them in a couple of games. IMO, Pickett will win district with the other 3 battling for second with not much separation between them.
  9. Bad thing is, there are no posts coming up from the junior high or incoming freshman. All guard oriented
  10. Agreed. Their 2nd team would be battling for 2nd in the district if they could
  11. The sophomore class and below will feast in the upcoming years. Almost a guaranteed trip to sub state.
  12. Macon County is the big winner here, lol. They’d be battling for district championship if it was changed for this season. They’ll be lucky to win 2-3 district games in 7 AAA this year.
  13. Macon Co played Columbia Academy & Liberty Creek and won both.
  14. Girls play at 1 and boys at 2:30 unless anything changes.
