  1. With the coaches Peabody has, you may see them win some games towards the end of the season that seem unwinnable right now. Don't be surprised if they make some noise that will elevate them to the top for next year. Even if Adamsville beats peabody this week don't count them out.... EVER!!! I love them Dawgs from Milan. But I have great respect for the players and coaches from Peabody.
  2. He is a senior headed to Colorado University next year.
  3. Ouch, are you still a little salty about getting beat by the underdogs, at YOUR FIELD, in overtime, with your refs....lol. Gotta Love High School football.
  4. you are partially right Milan has had 91 wins in the last 10 seasons... But, that is the end of you being right. In the same span South Gibson has won 77 Games...... if you can find where the record is different i will admit that I am wrong. But, that is all the wins I can find for them. An even better stat is....... against Milan they have been outscored 454-258 with a record of 4-10 against the Bullies. I don't see much overall bragging rights for the Lower Gibson county sweat bees!
  5. Great Game and atmosphere! Here are my takeaways. Skilled Athletes - Milan. Milan had some threats that didn't even touch the Ball last night. 3 RB's that would start for most any team. The receivers will recover from the first game jitters and they will score some points. QB - not a fair analysis. Trentons guys played with heart and they played hard. Milans QB played smart, was very accurate and protected the football. Line play - Push - Peabody will dominate 1a when their line gets in just a little better shape. They did do fairly well, but were not the bulldozers we heard about prior to the game. Milan was a few shoestring tackles away from breaking several long runs, but got stuffed a few times as well. both will get better throughout the season. Special Teams - Milan - the pooch kicks that were given up were the a major difference in the game. Even if you have a starting QB, if they miss out on two possessions it's hard to score. short punts for Peabody and an onside kick that didn't make it ten yards are hopefully correctible things as the season moves on. Overall - Milan had two Big Redzone stops. One a defensive Stand, and another was a forced fumble. That was just as important as the pooch kicks. their defense failed to get off the field on some third and longs in the first half. that was concerning, But they stepped up where they needed to. IMO Milan was more physical but only by a little. both teams showed great toughness and i believe will have some fun games this season. bunch of great kids playing hard and classy football. I do not believe that the pass play was called by the coaches late in the game. But, you are free to believe it if you want to. emotions were high with the players and made some bad decisions. The QB running out of Bounds in the fourth was another poor decision that would have helped. At the end of the day these are kids out there. Go Dogs
  6. Dyersburgs D front will be tough to handle for most west TN teams. they just got a little tired last night... But I have a feeling the coaching staff over there will have them game ready. Dyersburgs offense had some good drives but they turned the ball over on some crucial downs. These are fixable things for a good coaching staff. Milans Offense was able to move the ball well. Their defense caused some disruptions and stayed after the football. Milan was in better shaped and looked more experienced. If this were a week 5 game, you wouldn't want to miss it! It was good work for both teams.
  7. One note on the Waverly/Milan scrimmage was the QB for Waverly was not live.... Smart for them to do that with the lack of depth. But, he would have taken some sacks had he been live. Milans Depth was a big difference in this scrimmage. Good work for both teams!
  8. I agree Football is the Baby at Milan and is well supported.... But, the gym is phenomenal with many upgrades. They have invested in some good coaches in the past. They had some pretty good seasons along the way too. Coach Tucker was the Basketball coach on more than one occasion and called in help from some of the best coaches in TN to help get the team going in the right direction. Basketball teams have profited from a good football program at Milan more than people know... They have made tons of Money from Concessions at football games. As well as profited from the football revenue for the overall program. Milan has had potential in Basketball, but it has been a football town.... and thats ok... With that being said at the moment it is a Basketball Town... and thats OK too.... I am proud to be from a community that produces winners on and off the athletic court and field. At the end of the day thats what it is all about. GO DAWGS!!!!! we support you.
  9. Milan had a long run with Tucker. 25 years.... Then there was a 2 year run with Bland..... Bland was a good coach and a good man. But, the best thing he did was hire a young assistant from Henry County. When Bland left, the young assistant got the job. The next 22 years was amazing 6 championship appearances, lots of D1 guys and other college players, even a great NFL guy. If Coach T would have existed then, some one would have probably said well Milan is giving up on football. In reality, Milan hired a guy who wanted to be there, and wanted to raise a family there. I have high hopes.
