I agree to a point. however, if a coach is taking in only athletes (especially good athletes) something smells fishy about that. I thank anyone that helps children when they need it, don't get me wrong...
Now a Dad that has an 8th grader going up to the high school next year is saying they coaching staff is charging players and parents $50 and they are promising scouts will attend practices and games. WTH!?
Just curious about a rumor I heard at a basketball game I was at for Scott Co. I was told the coach at Clinton has kids (potential players) living with him under a foster care program type deal? Surely this isn't true right?!?
Justin is
He's not a certified teacher...however he does have his degree. Used to work for Project Grad...and in Tennessee with a degree he CAN get a provisionary teaching license and take a praxis test to get endorsed to teach. Justin Long makes a whole lotta sense.
Justin Long. HC at Grace Christian. Was QB for Black and won the State Title early 2000s. Then was his OC for years and won a few more as a coach. Would make sense. I think he has only been at Grace a year or so.
There should be no reason other than retirement that Rankin leaves Alcoa. I did however hear that he was interested to a point in the Oak Ridge job when it was open. He even went and visited the school's AD. I saw photographic evidence of this as a matter of fact. What he was doing there is the rumor. lol
Probably should go outside the box on this one. Hire someone that is looking for impact rather than a stepping stone or show they still got it. I'd do it myself but I'm over 70 and don't know the first thing about coaching football. lol
A place like this usually gets two types of coaches. A coach that is near or coming out of retirement or an up and comer. Either way it seems to always end in a short termed partnership. Either the older retired coach gets to the end of his rope and hangs it back up or the up and comer does really well and leaves for a bigger job or does really poor and goes back to being an assistant or coordinator somewhere. Surely there is a coach somewhere that meets in the middle of this stereotype. Someone that has coached for 10+ years and just wants a shot at being a HC. Someone that doesn't just coach for the W's and the L's but for the kids. He's out there! The Knoxville and surrounding areas have hundreds of coaches like this. Maybe one will apply? I went to a game up there about 15 years ago maybe and I remember a BBQ pit or something I believe. It was a nice experience!
