Showcase Baseball of Tennessee Announces Affiliation with Midland Baseball Subtitle: Showcase Baseball of Tennessee swings into the 2022/2023 baseball season as Midland Baseball of Tennessee FRANKLIN, TENNESSEE, UNITED STATES, June 8, 2022/PRESS WIRE Franklin-based travel baseball organization Showcase Baseball, one of the largest non-profit competitive baseball programs of its kind in Tennessee, announces today its affiliation with Midland Baseball. Showcase Baseball, currently in its 9th season, will enter its 10th season on August 1, 2022, as Midland Baseball of Tennessee. The affiliation of Showcase Baseball to Midland Baseball brings together two like-minded non-profit baseball organizations with strong histories. Showcase has a strong presence and brand in Middle TN, with 19 teams and more than 250 players ranging from ages 8 through 17. Midland, founded in 1966 out of Batavia, OH., has risen to become arguably the best amateur baseball program in the country. Midland operates affiliate locations in Ohio, Missouri, Kentucky, and Texas…and coming to a ballfield in Tennessee soon! “Bringing the legacy, resources, and national presence of Midland Baseball to Tennessee allows Showcase Baseball to expand our mission to inspire, educate, and grow athletes,” said President of Showcase, Doug Edwards. Edwards, who has coached and served on the Board of Directors for the organization 8 of its 9 seasons, went on to say “finding a like-minded non-profit national partnership in Midland to affiliate with, doing competitive travel baseball the right way, is a significant boost to our organization. This affiliation strengthens our ability to compete for talent and coaches in an ever growing, highly competitive, talent rich area in TN and will provide our players the opportunity for national exposure on some of the biggest stages in amateur baseball.” Showcase Baseball set out in 2013 to become “the most trusted travel baseball organization in TN.” Showcase was founded, and is managed, by volunteers who love the game and are passionate about the life-impact baseball can have on the youth. Two of the founding members of Showcase, still serving, are Randy Griggs and Travis Copley, who together, joined Edwards in their sentiments by stating, “The Midland brand blended together with what we have built over the years is a homerun for competitive travel baseball in our area.” For more than 56 years, Midland’s accent on their program has been helping young men interested in amateur baseball further their careers with the hope of either a college education or a life in professional baseball. Its Founder, the late Joe Hayden Jr., espoused the theory that the greatest asset the United States has is its youth, who will evolve into tomorrow's leaders in business, social activities, and government. Starting at age 8 and continuing through the age of 18, Midland provides a place where young men can participate in baseball with the hope of involving themselves athletically as well as maturing physically and mentally into responsible citizens. Midland Baseball’s current President Matt Shadow said, “We have considered expanding into the ever-growing Tennessee market for some time and as we talked throughout the baseball community Showcase Baseball of TN kept coming up. We reached out to Showcase and we both quickly discovered we thought the same, were built on many of the same principles, and believed together we would be stronger. We are excited for Midland Baseball of TN through our affiliation with Showcase.” Regards, Randy Griggs Coaching Director and Founder
