That would be good news for McKenzie if the coaches stayed. But look fella I know u are from Huntingdon and like to post stuff on McKenzie, but show some respect for Comer because the people of McKenzie surely do and wish him nothing but the best. Your post above is somewhat childish.

Could not agree more. After this year, McKenzie's new coach will have their work cut out for them. Staying in 1A would definitely be a huge plus. Most years there is not much difference in the top 5- 1A and 2A teams across the state, but after the top 5 or so there is normally a huge drop off for 1A. Regular season region play is a lot easier for 1A in West TN right now.

Yeah comparing to Surber and Cassidy is not fair. There is a lot more than to it than just being a good athlete. With Surber and Cassidy come intangibles to be honest most kids just don't have. These two are and were super intelligent individuals. Calmness under pressure like you wouldn't believe. Team first mentality and didn't care about being in the spotlight and does whatever it takes to win. When teamates make mistakes they would talk them up instead of displaying disgust or blame. Would never quit competing no matter the score. You see this with Eubanks @ Huntingdon and the D. White kid had it at Moore Co. I'm not saying the kids you mention don't have those qualities - I have no idea about them, but kids don't need the added pressure of trying to live up to improbable expectations just let them be who they are.

Nothing wrong with it you can definitely win games with it, but as fan It is just a hard watch for me. Especially when a team uses almost a whole quarter to go 60-70 yards and then they fumble the ball and turn it over I'm screaming like you just did all that work for nothing lol.

Mckenzie starts running the Wing T, I will find something else to do on a Friday night. Four quarters of that boring nonsense- no thanks!

What kind of school is this? A new private school that has not been put in DII yet or is it a new charter school that can bring in kids all across a large metropolitan area . How long has this school been around?

If you know anything about how teacher retirement pay works it is not that hard to figure this move out. A substantial pay raise for a few years boosts your retirement. He is not that far away from 30 years. Congrats to him he has earned it.

To satisfy the fine folks of McKenzie it better be a certain Golden Tide play caller or a former SS HC- just sayin.

Shame these two did not meet in the championship. Definitely think this is the championship game. MC fixing to expose GF for playing in a weak Region and sectional, but MC is probably a 10pt underdog to these two. It is basketball and anything can happen though.

Here is a thought. If WC wins tonight, I think they get to the state tournament no problem. If McKenzie pulls it out, I think McKenzie is more susceptible to losing a sectional game. We could very well have a tournament this year with no WC or Mckenzie.

Davis averages 25 with 2 and sometimes 3 people on her so I imagine WC will have to have 2 on her at all times. They were trying to stop her with 3 the other night and she still went for 27. I only remember one game this year that a team tried to guard her str8 up and she went for 60 and only played a minute or so into the 4th quarter.

From watching both teams play this year, WC is a much deeper and way more complete team than McKenzie. Mckenzie gets into any type of foul trouble it could spell disaster for them. Mckenzie will have to have one their best games to pull this one out. With Davis though I would never count them out.

If you follow McKenzie this year this is not at all shocking. They had already lost to McEwen once. They could lose the first round of the region or they could win it all and I would not be surprised either way. Davis has been face guarded and doubled all year and has still averaged in the mid 20's. If you get them in a game where the others start knocking down wide open shots then they can get dangerous very quickly- they have beat some very good teams this year when that happens. You just don't know what you are going to get one game from the next. I think McKenzie on their best night is the only team that has a shot @ beating Wayne Co in this Region tournament.

Can't really argue with 1A and 2A. I could see Kee being on there as well and there wouldn't be an argument if she was. 2A is just loaded with talent. Winners- In 1A Davis for sure. 2A is a little closer, but I think Hart is deserving.

They just have to avoid playing each other in the sectional.

I forgot about Wayne Co moving into the same region with McKenzie this year. Have not seen Moore Co. play, but their record looks pretty good their only losses to very good teams. Anybody know if there is any quality teams coming out of the Memphis region? If not I could see district 14 sending 2 teams to the boro S. Fulton and then maybe Greenfield, Union City or Dresden. I'm curious about that Memphis region though anybody got any info?

Thoughts on what teams if any across the state have separated themselves as clear cut favorites in 1A. What are some surprise teams that you think can make a deep run. Any pre- season favorites underachieving up to this point?

McKenzie's coach played all 7 of his players as well and Davis sat the 4th quarter. My whole point is this was an outstanding performance by a McKenzie player and all the haters want to do is throw shade @ Mck. coach . My only regret is she sat the 4th quarter she would have easily tied or broke the national record.

Kind of like HMS girls scoring 90 on Henry.
