  1. Welcome coach! Glad to hear all the positive remarks about Stroup and his family.
  2. Hearing some different things now. Perhaps I just need to shut up until a hire is announced.
  3. Yes. Also, I don’t want to do anything remotely similar to the way things are done in Memphis. We really should just give it to Mississippi.
  4. HOW MUCH MONEY DID GALLATIN OFFER ADAM CAINE????? Somebody please enlighten everyone.
  5. Ben Herron was there from 2011-2017. He went 48-33 overall, which isn't awful. 13-1 in 2013 and 9-3 in 2015. Outside of those two years, they were pretty average. Caine has definitely elevated the program, though. Having said all that, I don't think he was offered anything either.
  6. So you're gonna get on here and say you know how much they offered him, but you won't say how much it was? Convenient... And nobody here is going to go ask Adam Caine how much Gallatin offered him. He's not the one who got on a message board bragging about knowing how much the offer was. You did that. So let's hear how much Gallatin threw at him?
  7. I think the reason people say that Gallatin could be great again is because of A.) talent/athleticism every year B.) tradition of winning C.) community support. Baxter will never be a hotbed for talent. Upperman has a 43%-44% win pct all time. I’m sure there is support for Upperman football, but you could fit the entire population of Baxter inside Green Wave Stadium…. 3 times…. Not hating on Upperman, I’m just saying that there really isn’t a comparison between the two programs. I do want to know how much money we supposedly offered Caine though.
  8. This feels like a loaded/rhetorical question
  9. Exactly. The right coach will come in and put their own stamp on the facilities anyway. Absolutely Gallatin needs some upgrading. If Caine doesn’t want that to be part of his job description, that’s fine. Someone will.
  10. It’s absolutely still a top tier job. And it is still viewed as such by coaches across the state. I’m confident we are about to see things change for the better at Gallatin.
  11. Seems Greg Ryan is available now that Knox Catholic has hired their new guy. I’m sure he’ll stay out east, but a 68-14 record sure sounds good right now.
  12. Right, these are the tables I was referring to. If you scroll down, the different tables represent 10,11, and 12 month employees. What is the difference in the 3?
  13. I would like to hear from one of the metro people about their pay schedule. MNPS shows different schedules based on number of days worked - anywhere from 200-241 days. Sumner County (and most other counties) have a pay scale based on just a 200 day calendar for teachers. Are football coaches different in this regard when it comes to metro? How much is the coaching stipend in metro? Anyone out there who can shed some light on this?
  14. Blade’s on-field results really took a nosedive when Indy moved from 5A to 6A. Although with the recent success of Page and Nolensville, I don’t know that he would have done any better in 5A. From some of the interviews I’ve watched, he doesn’t strike me as the type of guy who just loves coaching.
  15. I don’t think Gallatin can afford to go after an “under the radar” type guy. We just went through 2 of those, and it has set the program back exponentially. The administration has to get this one right. Can they? We’ll see.
  16. They both told you they weren't taking the Gallatin job?
  17. What makes you say that? Do you have a source, or are you just assuming?
  18. Since nobody has responded to this in a while, and no names have really leaked... I decided to do a list of potential candidates from East, Middle, and West TN. Plus a couple others. EAST: Brad Waggoner, Gatlinburg-Pittman Greg Ryan, Knoxville Catholic OC (Greenback HC 2015-2020) Hayden Chandley, David Crockett Chris Brown, Baylor DC (Red Bank HC 2018-2021) Eddie Spradlen, Greeneville MIDDLE: Derek Rang, Lewis Co. Adam Caine, Upperman Jamaal Stewart, East Nashville Thomas Osteen, Marshall Co. Chase Brooks, E. Robertson WEST: Chris Smith, Haywood JR Kirby, Covington Bryant Hollingsworth, Lexington MISSISSIPPI: Scott Martin, Lafayette Middle School (Charleston High School 2013-2019) Carl Diffee, North Panola? (Milan 2020-2021) I realize some of these guys may not be realistic, but they are by no means ridiculous. In any event, all of them possess great ability and have proven it on the sidelines at one point or another.
  19. I think Blade is a good coach. I just think there are 8-10 that are better than him that are realistic choices.
