  1. The replies to this tweet including the quote tweets are disappointing… Also a little disappointed in Kreager for not mentioning the specific sport in the headline.
  2. Tennessean article with more context. https://www.tennessean.com/story/sports/high-school/2023/02/27/lipscomb-academy-athletic-programs-placed-on-probation-for-one-year/69950255007/
  3. Finally got what I’m assured the full story on Witten is from a well placed source. They agreed in principle, and were legitimately minutes from announcing the deal. Then Witten calls and backs out. Someone in the family put their foot down and didn’t want to move (was not told who). No one really to blame just unfortunate for both parties.
  4. Someone told me today they heard there might have been a potential snag in negotiations. That’s all I was told… Don’t know if it’s minor or if it kills the deal.
  5. Jason Witten is their top choice. Now being reported by “national” media.
  6. Sorry to but in but this is kind of my specialty. Too early to rank anybody but I’ll do a little rundown based on what I know. LA- Extremely talented, but very young position player group. 4 D1 commits at the moment, and honestly there’s probably another 2 or 3 on the roster. Pitching depth could be their issue. Probably have the best player in the region. Also heard rumblings of a potential incoming impact transfer. CPA- I’ll let breadtruck take this since it’s his guys. MBA- Very talented veteran team. Have probably the most electric pitcher I’ve seen in this region in a long time. Their SS is special. Really solid lineup with a lot of lefties. Pope- Very talented rotation, maybe the best 1/2 punch in the region and a solid lineup that will win them games, but is it enough to advance in the postseason? BA/Ryan- some solid players that will win games, but no high end talent. Ensworth- They finished in last place last year, and unfortunately I don’t see that changing for them at this time. They have 3 or 4 really solid players that will all play college ball, but beyond that it’s a pretty steep drop off.
  7. If it’s a Witten I think it would be his brother Jason. He’s a high school coach in Texas and would have more name value.
  8. Probably not directly, but you’d think he make connections where requested.
  9. Does Lipscomb contact Phillip Rivers? Coaches currently at a faith-based school in Fairhope, Alabama.
  10. Will be very interesting. I understand they have one former head coach on staff (maybe the DC?) they could promote as long as Trent doesn’t bring him along. Or they could have another national search, would expect there could be strong interest.
  11. For public schools and baseball, Williamson or Rutherford counties are the ones I’d recommend. Especially Williamson. I can speak more to high schools, but you really can’t go wrong with Williamson. Williamson has Ravenwood, Centennial, Brentwood, Franklin and Independence who have all had recent baseball success. The best baseball option in Rutherford is probably Riverdale or Stewart’s Creek. A couple others in the surrounding counties are Hendersonville and Mt. Juliet.
  12. Salary can’t be close to accurate. If anything that number could be what’s spent on the entire program per year.
  13. Are you looking for public or private? And are you looking at Davidson County or one of the surrounding counties? I’ve got some recommendations but it would be easier to be able to narrow it down some.
