  1. Hello, realstory My name is Coach Jones from the Tennessee Thunder. I have been reading some of the post today. I think it's a sad day for Middle Tennessee AAU. How about we get back to what we all started coaching for "THE KIDS". So, lets stay focused and leave it on the floor. About your questions, The Thunder Organization has 13 teams. It takes a lot of time to run a 13 team program. Just think how hard it is to get a gym for one team. X that by 13. Because we host AAU substate and running 13 teams we wasn't able to play doing this open period. But, we will be rolling after we finish hosting our AAU tournaments. I hope that answer your question. I believe if you can play the game. " COLLEGE COACHES WILL FIND YOU". Look you are talking about them. So it most be working As for the Parents intesgating, Parents are just Parents and if you are a Parent your doing the same Thanks Coach Jones
  2. Jeremy, I am so happy that you talk with Coach Merritt. Thats why I write the post. Remember this, Our players are kids and kids will be kids. But, if you empty a pillow case of feathers on a porch and a gust wind comes along and blows all the feathers away. Do you think you can retrieve each single feathers? Well of couse not! Its the same thing when you post untruths! You will never be able to get all it back!
  3. Come on jeremy, you don't even want to play the championship game but SEAAU said you had to. Thunder has never been on coacht talking bad about your program are any others. And we never will! What ever the beef is. Sit down and talk about it. Don't come on coacht and bad mouth our program. AAU basketball is the business we both play in. Business men sit down and talk not post. Lets stop posting like the player and talk like business men. Because, I hope we have the same goal. "HELPING KIDS GET IN SCHOOL"
  4. Hooptime the brackets for the AAU state is set by SEAAU. Thunder has no control of it. Format changes each year. Like #1 east, #1 south, #2 north, and #2 west in one pool & #1 north, #1 west, #2 south, and #2 east in the other pool. Thats how it works.

  6. DUNKTHEBALL...I'm not the one calling names, talk to luvbug. You no any good organization that have to turn in taxes that why you ran all money through one pot. Call aau about the bid. [Edited by kj23 on 2-20-03 4:59P]
  7. If you say bad things about a organization, make it the truth. Fact, we had 9 teams not 13 teams. Out of that 9, yes only 4 teams made the nationals. With the 17u making the 19u nationals (junior olympics) and 12u, 13u, and 19u making thier nationals. Like fridge said we do more than just basketball. This year the thunder have 8 teams. That means we let one team go. So if 8 teams stayed and only one team was let go. We can't be all that bad of a organization. We just let a bad apple go! Tryouts, how many teams let you tryout for three days. We do our tryouts like a mini camp. So they will learn something about the game of basketball even if they don't make the team. Ridiculous, I say not. It's a great deal. Not many teams can say that. THAT IS THE FACTS AND THE TRUTH!

  9. Dewontae always been agressive at times doing AAU. He his become a great player and always looking to get better. He may not be on all the so called player rinking. But, he will be in a naia or d2 school next year. Good Job! Wilcox Keep it up!
  10. John I did not mean hate but hurt.
  11. Tennessee "lets face it" is a football state. Most of our kids play football 1st. They do not put the time they need to put in for basketball. To be a good basketball player you have to have the heart for the game, great def., a jump shout, and put the time in to get it. To play great def. you have to be in shape. So you have to put the time in running and working out. To have a great jump shout, you have to put the time in the gym and just shoot. All of our kids just want to handle the rock and dunk. As a coach we sometimes hurt our kids. Most coaches teach there post player to play with there back to the goaled. Thats why the n.b.a. go over seas and find 6'9"-6'10" players that can face the goaled. They are coached to face the goaled so they can shoot are go past our post player. As for our 1-2-3's they send to much time trying to handle the rock and not learning the game. Players if you keep the ball out of the middle of the floor you just took one of there options away. Because most all plays start from the middle of the floor. John you are so right. Memphis and other States players put the time in and most not all of our players don't. 12. Tennessee Thunder 16u has been invited to play in the Super Showcase in Orlando FL. July 18-22. The Super Showcase is made up of some of the best teams from around the country. This is a great opportunity for 16-year-old players to play in front of NCAA Coaches. That will not be in attendance at the Detroit Nationals. At these time we are looking to add some players. If you would like to play. Email me at ktj23@webtv.net are call (615)831-8366
